We ordered takeout tonight from CJs. I am so impressed! We've eaten there a few times and the food is consistently good. I am so thrilled that their takeout shows the same attention to detail and service . The person who took the order couldnt have been more pleasant. We got wings with extra sauce on the side. Half rack of ribs and a chopped salad with no onions-sauce On The side and chicken. The pick up was ready when they said it would be. There were sides and napkins and plastic ware. I'm so pleased. We had stopped by after someone at one of the vineyards suggested CJs saying they had a great burger. Not only did they have a great Burger but their staff was fantastic! Sandra was totally attentive and helped make suggestions for local attractions. Our server was Louise and she was kind and friendly. She made suggestions, some where good but the guacamole and chips was great!!! I highly recommend A stop in. This isn't a quiet place for romance. But it's welcoming and well priced! A big group of us came here for lunch on a Saturday and had great service and delicious food. They accommodated is quickly and happily with 3 little (messy) kids. So ..... husband sees CJ American Grill on a restaurant review --- called it "the hidden gem of Mattituck" and off we go on a road trip. From the beginning the herb butter on corn bread was unexpected and amazing, French onion soup was obviously homemade - seasoned just right, well wings were meaty and cooked exactly as request (thank you), salad fresh and flavorful and the steak was charred by an expert. I stopped by here with a few friends for dinner one evening. I'm not from around this neighborhood but some local folks recommended this spot and as much as I wanted to love it... I just "liked" it. The ambiance was very relaxed and charming which was a plus. Our server was quite a character and kept us smiling throughout the course of our meal...another plus. The presentation of our meals were lovely as well however there just wasn't any "WOW" factor in the taste and flavor department in all four of our dishes. I had the pasta primavera and my boyfriend had the steak sandwich. There was a giant piece of steak that he had to use a knife and fork for which turned him off because he really just wanted a sandwich lol. My pasta was bland... just pasta and veggies... I feel like this place needs some attention.  We happened upon it randomly, and really had a nice meal.  Plus, they make one of my favorite pumpkin martinis!  It's so smooth!  Their French dip is delish and they have a nice wine selection.  If you see this place, consider dropping in and checking it out.  If nothing else, consider that it's down back walkway in a strip mall, so it's not likely to get obnoxiously packed.  That's a bonus when you're looking for a spot for a quiet lunch. read more

Amazing service. Each staff member was more kind than the next. Food was terrific. We came in with 3 kids 6 and under and they could not of been more accommodating. The owner and staff make you feel like a rock star. Then you realize they treat everyone the same way and you feel like you're just part of the family. Very accomodating, especially when it comes to kids; crayons, sidewalk chalk, specially made desserts (to go if you are too full). The food complements the service, personalities and atmosphere. Crab cake was way too bready and looked like a frozen Costco item. Too bad cause the corn salad it came with was very good. Great time from the minute we walked in the door. We were welcomed like old friends. Sat at the bar for happy hour and we were delighted by the fact that they served nice, bottled, even local wine at a very reasonable price. And in glasses that were truly sparkling. Had a wonderful dinner last night at CJ's American Grill. Our prime rib dinners were delicious and the grilled vegetables were done perfectly. The wall of local wines was beautiful to look at and very reasonably priced by the bottle. Wow wow and Wow what a great new restaurant. The lobster roll is oversized and delicious. I ordered a tossed salad instead the fries and it was the freshest greens with a great dressing. This new restaurant is an absolute hidden gem has amazing food everything fresh farm to table i had French onion soup crab cakes and the duck everything was fantastic great service and an awesome selection of north folk wines you can pick out from the wall. The soup was actually made with Gruyere cheese the right way, the duck was succulent and juicy and came with an awesome maple syrup sweet mashed potatoes with the best asparagus ever! The crab cakes were delicious and filling and actually full of crab with an awesome spicy aioli on the side with fire roasted corn salsa, my girlfriend had the fresh mixed green salad which was awesome can't go wrong with that and lobster ravioli fresh homemade pasta in-house and lots n lots of lobster in it and finished off with an awesome chocolate mousse cake which was divine like I said this place is a hidden gem not out in the open you kind of have to look for it in the Mattituck commons but totally worth going to I will definitely be back and tell all my friends about CJ's American bar and Grill!!!!!!!! read more

"East End Events Catering" catered our backyard wedding September 2016. First off - i wasted a ton of time hiring (then firing) an event coordinator when really all i should have done was pay the extra fee for their maitre d' from the start. Chris and Joanne run a smooth operation. All of their staff remarked how they enjoy working for them. We bought our own wine/beer and hired their bartender to serve and maintain. Jackie, the Maitre d' was SUPERB! she came the day before and went through all specific setup tasks with me. This even included her helping me finish decorating the tent. They staked in some of my signs and carried a large flower pot out onto one of the tables once the tables were set. Jackie also made sure my homemade flower crown were taken out of the fridge and placed on the welcome table for guests per my request. Does this sound like a catering company? No, theyre much more. Food was DELICOUS! cocktail hour blew the guests away by by quantity, quality, and beautiful setup on an old barn door they use. Considering how busy I was, Jackie kept on eye on me all night to see if i needed anything to drink, etc. we had their cupcakes and top of wedding cake for dessert and couldnt have wanted more. as i said, my main complaint was that i didn't utilize their additional services sooner! they have great recommendations on other vendors and know the area very well. 5-stars for sure. read more

This was my first time there and I hate to say bad things about the place but I have to admit it was one of the worst meals I have had in awhile . We ordered the mussels that where on the special they where so tiny and had no taste. Then ordered the roasted duck which was super dry and no taste at all. The only part of the meal I liked was the salad . I am not sure whether I should go back and give it another try or not. The staff was. Extremely friendly and nice.
