I really enjoyed my recent visit to Pita Fresh! The "build your own" style works well with Mediterranean food. I did a couscous bowl and customized my toppings. The server was very generous with the servings and the flavors meshed together wonderfully. We stopped in to order but took the meal home to enjoy. Today I went through the drive through. An SUV was parked in the drive through. As I was ordering the driver decides to get out of the vehicle and opens the back door of the restaurant. He starts loading his truck with boxes. The employee on the order speaker tells me to pull up. I told him I can't because a car is blocking the way. Eventually the owner finishes loading his truck in the drive though and drives off. At the window I paid for my order and asked for two sides of thousand island dressing. The employee says okay and that there is no charge. When I got home, there's a soggy menu on top the box which absorbed all the moisture from the fries. Where's my thousand island dressings? We are paying double for fast food now that Gavin gave food workers a $20 an hour minimum. I don't pay for bad service, and after the way I saw how Classic Gyros feels about their customers; I'm boycotting them. Good thing The Habit just opened, and they are a lot closer. The food here is so good! My favorite thing are the bowls you get to build. All the employees are really friendly and provide great service! I don't normally dine in, I order online and take out. Kids ordered the gyro pita with Parmesan fries, husband chicken shawarma bowl and I got salad bowl protein style with beef shawarma and falafel on the side! We all loved the food! Meat is very tender and full of flavor! Portion is good, sauces are so yummy ....oh and the hummus is a must have!! Everything tastes very authentic! Went here last night, got some Fish and Chips with Garlic Fries. Food was as good as the last time I visited under the old, Pita Fresh name. The Fish was fried to perfection, hot and juicy with great breading that wasn't cloyingly greasy. My Garlic Fries were divine, potent enough to ward away vampires for the next few days. A little burning, seasoned just right, with a good amount of cheese. When I visited, they were honest and upfront, and said they were out of tartar sauce but offered me substitutions. Pita Fresh throws together quick, light, affordable mediterranean inspired salads, sandwiches and wraps for a reasonable price. With a subway-like setup, they make each item to order and customize it to your specifications. I had a Gyro with feta cheese and a side of pita and hummus. The pita was really soft and chewy (despite having been previously frozen) but the filling was truthfully somewhat haphazard, making it very tough to eat (it ended up falling apart on me and had to eat it like a salad). The gyro meat was of mediocre quality but I didnt mind it. The hummus, however, was light, creamy and enjoyable. I also had the baklava and thought it was good. My colleauges had the shawarma and also thought it was just slightly above average. We all loved the outdoor seating area as it was a great day outside and the "patio" space was comfortable and inviting. Overall, a nice place to stop for a quick lunch at a reasonable price but unfortunately the food quality lands us at 3.5 stars overall. I must add, frozen pitas in a place called "Pita Fresh" is definitely an interesting coincidence. read more
