This place was a lovely respite on our long drive home back from California. Rather than stopping for fast food on our road trip, I was craving something fresh and looked this place up in advance. The gyro I ordered was delicious and I loved that I could customize so many of the ingredients. The price was right (on Monday's they're only $5) and the service was prompt and served with a smile. Everything was clean and I had an overall very pleasant experience. If I make the drive down ever again, I'll make sure to stop in here for a fresh meal. read more

The food tasted great but two hygienic issues really bothered me: 1. Server coughed in his hand then put only one glove on the hand that was not coughed on so that left the coughed on hand UNCOVERED as he dished up food. 2. They wrap your pita halfway and then set it directly on the tray with NO PAPER LINER. That means half your pita is on a tray. My tray had hair and glitter on it. Needless to say, that's gross. read more

AMAZING!! When we got there the line was extremely long so I thought man were going to be here forever, but no!!! The line moved super fast!! The concept of this place reminds me of subway but it does not taste like subway lol. So we got the steak pita pocket, the chicken salad, the chicken couscous bowl, a side of falafel and baklava. They have tons of options to put on your salad or bowl. All delicious and fresh. The food in general was fresh and flavorful. The restaurant was clean and well organized. The staff was very nice. The owner was there (Aladdin) and went to check on us twice, we thought that was nice of him. The baklava was delicious, it had cashews instead la pistachios. I returned to Pita Fresh this week, veggies great as usual but the falafel was less than good. It was dry and no better than other places where I've had dry little-flavored tasting falafel. This was my first time here and I had a great experience. I ordered a gyro that came with an assortment of delicious add-on options. I ordered the garlic fries with my pita too. The food was delicious, the staff were very friendly, and the presentation of offerings were clear. I spoke with the owner who offered more info on the food, the freshness of items, and he provided me with some tasty homemade baklava (so good). I'd definitely recommend this location and I'm looking forward to exploring their menu further. My only complaint I had was that all of the food I ordered disappeared! Since the place reopened under new ownership I've been in 5 or 6 times and tried a variety of the menu. I've been pleasantly surprised how much better the food is, the prices are reasonable, and I think it's now one of the best casual and quick dining spots in town; especially if you're looking for something other than burgers and Mexican food. They seem to care much more about the flavors and quality of the food, the cleanliness, and friendly service. The gyros are big, enough to save for later if you wish, but they can be quite a handful so get a few napkins. read more

I ordered the chicken kabob plate (ended up with 1 chicken skewer and 1 beef skewer) with rice, hummus and a Greek salad. I also ordered a side of falafel. I asked for 2 things of garlic sauce and 2 things of tzatziki sauce (which I received). So the kebab order was wrong, the rice was not good and more of a Spanish rice (I figured it would either be rice pilaf or saffron rice since this is a "Mediterranean" restaurant). The hummus was watery and not good! The "Greek salad" was wilted lettuce, with a couple of slices of black olives and some type of dressing, again not good! I have LOVED pita fresh since they opened. I am never disappointed! The food is SO fresh and absolutely delicious. The service is also extraordinary!! I stopped by a couple of days ago and one of the staff members, Sam, was absolutely amazing!! As soon as he saw me, he rushed to the window to greet me and made me the priority the entire time I was there. He went out of his way to make sure that I left happy and I definitely DID! As soon as he took my order, he got me a cup of ice water and said that it was to keep me comfortable while I waited because it was so hot out. That is way above and beyond his job and because of him and other employees there like him, I will never stop eating there! I had really high hopes for this place. Unfortunately, I was a little disappointed. I ordered a gyro sandwich combo and upgraded my fries to the garlic fries. My husband tried both the chicken and the beef gyro sandwiches and a baklava. The meat was dry across the board. We came to the consensus that the food sitting up under that heat lamp just waiting for customers to arrive decided that juicy wasn't what it was gonna be. The pita pockets themselves were A LOT of bread and the amount of meat and veggies they give doesn't create a balance. The fries were pretty good - they've got this feta cheese garlic concoction that is delicious on the fries. The service was great and I think that if they find a way to improve how they house their cooked meats - or if I could figure out how to only show up when a fresh batch of meat came from the kitchen - I'd be a regular. read more

Stopped in for lunch today at the suggestion of a coworker. This place is delicious! Ingredients were fresh there is a wide selection of sauces and extras and the quality and flavor is definitely there!! The only complaint I have was the high price. Just under $20 for a couscous bowl with grilled chicken and falafel and 2 pieces of balaclava for dessert. It was a lot of food. I could probably have easily split it with someone else. My husband and I frequent Pita Fresh. I absolutely love everything weve gotten. My favorite is the gyro nachos, its like a healthier version of nachos and I would die without having them at least once a week. My husbands favorite is the chicken pesto flatbread pizza but sub the chicken with gyro...its pretty amazing too. Weve tried pretty much everything on the menu and all of it is amazing. Pita Fresh, the off shoot of the local Mediterranean restaurant The Grape Leaf is anything but a fresh take. The food is prepared by what seems to be people that do not care what is being slung into the pita. The vegetables are wilted and old, the customer service is horrendous, and the price is completely not worth it. I was really hoping to enjoy this place, as they removed many of my families favorite items from the menu at the Grape Leaf. Now it is a pale reminder of the food it once was. The food is amazing and the customer service is great. Love that I can walk in, and come out with my food in 5 min. Prices are fair and not overpriced. I came to Inyokern to race with the burros. At the hotel, there was a flyer laying around for Pita Fresh. My wife picked it up and said this looks really good, we should get dinner there. Unfortunately we I had to pick up something from Walmart before and it was kinda late in the evening and the place was about to close. I guess I am used to Los Angeles mentality and usually you don't get much shortly before closing. Not here. We ordered to Steak Kabob plates and the Falafel Plate for Kids. We had to wait a little, which means that the food was prepared fresh. A very nice surprise was that kids eat for 50%. Back at the hotel both me and my wife were astonished about the generous portion size. The Steak Pieces on the Kabobs were huge, three on one Kabob and two skewers in total. Plus rice, plus Greek Salad, plus Cilantro Jalapeno Hummus and a slice of Pita Bread. My wife is extremely finicky about her steak and to our surprise, all the pieces were medium to medium rare, tender, juicy and cooked to perfection. Both Greek Salad and Hummus were super yum as well, only the rice was a little on the dry side - but still good. My daughter had six (!!!) Falafel's in her box and twice the amount of hummus as she doesn't care much for salad. She ate the whole box (minus the rice as she thought that was brown rice, which she doesn't like). I still can recall the taste three days later and I wish they would open a place here in LA. Then again, I am certain there will be more burro races and I will be back - and definitely back at Pita Fresh. If I could I would give this place 10 out of 10 stars, there that great! read more

I heard some great and not so great things about this place so I thought I'd give it a shot! First things first, the level of options you have is great! I usually get the bowl with brown rice, beef shawarma and lots of things in it! I love their garlic sauce and the pickles they have are the same ones I grew up eating (not your regular pickles)!
