Probably better if you stick to the baked goods, but I will never order one of their breakfast burritos or chicken wraps again. I asked the sales clerk if the chicken wrap I bought today was made this morning and she replied yes. The wrap was totally hard and crumbly and lettuce was wilted and old and totally inedible. I through it in the garbage. I have bought their breakfast burritos before and they are almost all filled with potatoes and have no flavor. This is the last time I will buy anything there. read more

The Maple Nut donut is good, but I've been unimpressed with several other pastries from this shop. The lady behind the counter was less than enthusiastic when I ordered. This used to be the best place ever. I don't' know what has happened in the last couple of years but I don't even bother to stop anymore. Seems like since they expanded thing s have gone down hill. The pasteries don't taste the same and the prices are way to high now. Used to be I couldn't wait to get their maple bars and butter horns. Now they just taste greeeeesy. Maybe they have changed the oil? What ever they did in the last 2 or 3 years ruined it. I'm from that town and always looked forward to stopping on my way through. It's like a maple bar, with a twist, a bit of cinnamon, maple and nuts on top. Always fresh. Super nice people, family owned business and good service. The bakery is really good. We were from out of town and stopped in on a whim and a need for quick breakfast. Their maple bars are to die for, something we can't get back home. I am a bit of a coffee snob and was impressed with the quality of the coffee here. We also picked up several gifts such as huckleberry honey, marionberry butter, local hive honey, and syrups. The prices were reasonable, they were cheaper here than at the Snoqualmie Falls gift shop for the same product. We will return on our next trip through. read more

If I could put zero stars, I would. When I brought my service dog into the store the manager asked what service he provided. That is an illegal question. She insisted I tell her and then told me to leave. I was extremely embarrassed and upset... They need to learn about the legalities of being a business and dealing those who have special needs. read more

I'm an apple fritter guy and these aren't the best I've had. The other donuts are fine. The cookies are good. I've never had the bread. I usually stop here in the morning on my way to Tri Cities. I get a latte and a couple cookies for the road. The young ladies that work there are cute and friendly (hottie scale: 6 - 8). They only have a porta-potty outside so not so good if you're traveling with the wife or girlfriend. read more

I went in hoping for some tasty bread selections. I was sadly disappointed because donuts appear to be the main focus. However cinnamon seems to be the main ingredient in many of their donuts and I am allergic. I did get some maple bars which were good, I did want to try the coconut crunch but they were next to some cinnamon covered donuts. It was not what I had expected for a "bakery". So, we always stop here on our way through Cle Elum, it's a total ritual. Recently I was on my way home from Wenatchee and stopped in for cinnamon rolls to take home. I realized that they are really no better or worse than any bakery item you would find at a grocery store like Safeway. The standout for me was the coffee. It was astounding really. I did not expect such an expert pull to come from the little lady who made my drink. The man had a maple bar and said it was pretty good. I stopped in here on a Sunday morning to pick up some pastries, little breakfast grub, and some coffee while spending the weekend camping in Cle Elum. The selection was pretty good and the service was great. I grabbed about 8 doughnuts, 4 breakfast burritos, 3 quiches, some cinnamon rolls, and 4 coffees. The coffees/mochas were good but I thought the quiches and breakfast burritos could have been better. For starters they were cold. Good thing they had a microwave where we were staying (Flying Horseshoe Ranch) which is camping but not exactly roughing it. :) After being re-heated the food was just meh... The doughnuts were good but nothing to rave about. Not like a Voo Doo doughnut. I would have like to see them open a bit earlier as well because I was camped out in front of the place for about 20min thinking shouldn't a bakery be open at 6 or 7am? Just a thought. read more

Terrific little bakery. It seems it's harder to find independent bakeries like this anymore. Nice people. Large selection of fresh baked breads but the cookies and bars are my favorite. We often stop here and at Owen's Meats, across the street, to stock up on goodies for road trips and camping trips. read more

I have been going to or eating baked goods from the Cle Elum Bakery since I was a kid and love them. The staff are friendly and helpful (even under pressure when the store is packed). Our favorites are their Maple Bars, but they have other good food and coffee too. In fact, by our teenagers' insistence, our travel plans now include stopping here on the way to our cabin, or for "breakfast" (e.g. coffee and maple bars) Sunday morning on our way back to Seattle, every time. We love the small-town family-owned business atmosphere, and our teens (who love to bake) like peeking at the huge mixing bowls that they use in the back. read more

I thank my lucky stars I don't live near this place. Donuts are my weakness, and I can (and have) eaten a half a dozen of these in one sitting. They are among the best donuts I've ever had (and I love me some donuts.) I also enjoy all the huckleberry syrups, jams, and honey. I actually liked this place. I got a maple bar, a "cinna crunch" donut, and a chai. The chai was surprisingly good--not as spicy as I'd like, but better than most places I've tried in Seattle. The donuts were good too. Not too dense or airy. We went on a Sunday and they didn't taste stale, contrary to other posts. I ordered a sheet cake from this bakery for my husband's 40th birthday party in Suncadia recently. The cake was very good and decorated as requested (I had emailed them a picture of a cake I liked). The only down sides are that they do not deliver so we had to pick it up, and it was quite expensive for a sheet cake ($75 for a full). You can get a full sheet cake decorated at Costco for about $45, but that wasn't an option for us given the location. read more

I remember the glory days back in the 80s when I was growing up in Cle Elum. No standing room on a Saturday morning. Everything was baked fresh 7 days a week. If you wanted Dutch crunch, you had to arrive early in the day or else there wasn't any left for you. A plethora of pastries and doughnuts. The best were the doughnuts that had egg in their dough and were spiraled and glazed. I forgot what they were called, but they stopped making them in the 90s and they would melt in your mouth. The baker would work through the night every day of the week to make sure all the cases were stocked with fresh, delicious, mouth-watering creations. What's left of this once amazing bakery is nothing more than overpriced, soon-to-be stale, supermarket-quality pastries. The only thing they had going for them in recent years was a gem of a girl named Alyssa, who is now nowhere to be found. I'm actually surprised this place is still in business. read more

I have been here once and it is a great atmosphere when you walk in very inviting. Then you look at the doughnuts and you can't ever just pick one they all look good. They all taste very good. This was our second trip to the bakery. The first time was years ago and I vaguely remember not being impressed. This trip they were out of breakfast burritos (at 10am on a Sunday) so I got a cherry turnover and my boyfriend got an apple fritter. The turnover was hard and tasted like canned cherry pie filling was used and the apple fritter was a hockey puck. Our bottomless pit of a lab wouldn't even finish it. The only good thing about this place was that they used Cafe Via coffee. We definitely won't be returning. read more

The bakery employee was far more concerned about taking pictures and yelling at a person for actually putting garbage IN the public gargbage can (isn't that what it's there for?) on the sidewalk across the street than actually paying attention to potential customers. I don't even think she knew I was getting out of my car to head into the bakery while she was busy being the garbage can monitor. Just didn't feel like handing my money over to that kind of nonsense, so I got back in my car and left. Heard they do have good baked goods, but not very interested in trying them out now. read more
