after Oktoberfest, what's do you on the way home? Grab a cup of coffee and head out to Cle Elum Bakery and have some goodies. We had some doughnuts smeared with yummy maple sugar, some cookies & fruit bars for the road. We also decided to get some local soup kits since autumn is here and the weather is rainy and getting cold. We also grabbed a garlic cheese bread that will go well with a spaghetti dinner night. Great way to make a memorable by stopping by some baked goods from a bakery that was started as far back as 1906.

Cle Elum is the sweetest 100 + yo bakery on 90. Doughnuts and sandwiches are delicious. The shop is so charming. I got a hoodie - super cute. They have all kinds of gifty things too - honeys, jams, huckleberry stuff!!! It's a really quick stop - don't miss it.

A must try when in Cle Elum! Cle Elum Bakery is known for their handbaked goods. My family and I personally love their donuts, especially their Apple Fritter. Service is quick and straightforward. They take your order and send you on your way. Ambiance is cozy and farmhouse chic. Would recommend!

I absolutely love this place. Always stop by if I'm biking through Cle Elum. Nice picnic tables outside, delicious donuts, kind workers. They filled our water bottles with ice water on a hot day. The breakfast burritos aren't bad for the price either.

Mary and I stopped in for a morning snack, the pastries were fresh and delicious, as always.

We stopped by for a quick treat. The place is cute. We got the cinnamon crisp which we really liked. We also got the bear claw which wasn't my favorite. Note that the place doesn't have washrooms for customers which is a bit inconvenient for folks traveling through and marking quick stop in town.

Sometimes I have no game plan and just hit the road. Ended up on I-90 on a particularly warm and windy summer day (7/11/21), never been to Cle Elum, so detoured to get gas and explored the main drag. Saw Cle Elum Bakery and did a U turn to check it out. Wow - well laid out with practically equal parts variety of baked goods and branded merch to select from! Although those fruit pies and some danishes looked enticing, I did see a cool baseball style Cle Elum Bakery Tshirt instead. Decent quality and soft. I tend to wear local sports and culinary destination Tshirts, so I was sold. The friendly young woman behind the counter rang up my purchase and kindly provided a much needed ice water to quench that thirst. I had been stuck in a backup due to construction and distant wildfires at the time. Note to self with a future detour, I'll try not to stop in shortly before closing. Bakeries are my jam and seeing the nearly cleaned out pastry cases tells me I need to return.

This bakery was calling my hubby's name! Once through the doors ... oh MY! The smell of freshly baked breads was incredible! By 1pm, many delectable baked goods were gone, but hubs snagged a DEEEELiscious maple bar.... And there was a small assortment of yeast breads and cookies. A guy came in behind us and ordered a sandwich-which I didn't realize they sold until I heard him order. Friendly service with a hometown atmosphere and lots of additional local goods.... will definitely stop again in the way over Snoqualmie. You should stop, too!

Aww looks like we got here too late in the day! They only had cookies left at 2:00 pm. I was hoping to try a variety of other baked goods! We tried their cookies in peanut butter, chocolate chip, toffee, and Russian cookies. It was crumbly. The best was the toffee bar and peanut butter. The store had an abundance of honey and jam in different flavors!

My wife and I stopped into Cle Elum Bakery on our way to Spokane. Free street parking can be found. Credit cards are accepted. There is a surcharge for credit purchases under $5. Cle Elum Bakery doesn't offer indoor restrooms; however, there are two outhouse's located outside. There are a few bistro tables outdoors to sit at on warm days. Indoors also has a couple tables. Cle Elum Bakery offers goods such as salsa, pickled vegetables, queso, honey, dry mixes etc. Clothing paraphernalia is also available for purchase. Cle Elum Bakery serves more sweet than savory. There wasn't much of bread/rolls to purchase. One can order an espresso to go with their sweet of choice. My wife ordered a chocolate glazed donut and I ordered a coconut covered donut. Each donut was $1.60. Our donut's weren't as fresh as they ought to be from a stand-alone bakery. Staff members were friendly enough. Overall, I'm glad that we stopped into Cle Elum Bakery; however, I don't think we will stop in again when passing through Cle Elum.

This is the second time I stopped at this bakery in a matter of months. I thought I had done an initial review but apparently not. Unfortunately if I had it would have been the same as today. I got a butter roll and a raspberry filled. The dough part of the raspberry filled seemed rather dry and heavy. Not something soft and pillowy that I would expect to bite into. The butter roll to my surprise I do believe had a touch of cinnamon in it which I have never experienced, wasn't expecting and didn't care for. That was very dry as well. I don't know whether they have too much flour in the dough, I can't imagine that the pastry sat out because I was there at 10 in the morning. Definitely not a fan! Fortunately I stopped at the farmers market and supported local instead by way of a cherry scone and cherry fig granola.

I asked to try their ginger dressing. It was olive oil and soy sauce ... Zero ginger flavor The worst was the service. The girl at the counter had short red hair, and I'm pretty sure she hated everyone eating there. We asked for a pitcher of water, her response was 'you get cups. Only cups.' Then, we moved from sitting out in the sun, to a cooler spot on the covered porch. We ruined her day I guess, the exasperated sigh she let out sounded more like we were asking her for the Taj Mahal ... It's a seat yourself restaurant, and we had not received our food yet. March 3, 2018 - Worst customer service!…read more I have to say that the RUDEST person I ever encountered in my entire life is a front lady of a small café The Bakery House in Cle Elum, Wa. When I entered, she just gave me a quick glance from the kitchen area, and kept on as if I didn't exist. She was having this frustration-themed talk with a co-worker; and her reaction to my presence read I was an interruption to that. It was a RED flag, I thought, but I'm a person of chances, so I waited while the rest of my family came in. When she saw my husband, she walked forward, and declared we can only eat until 3pm. We're in at 2pm, we knew they were about to close by 2:30, so my husband prodded the kids to hurry in deciding for orders, while I stayed quiet and processed my emotions of what just transpired minutes ago. As I was saying that our orders are to-go, she went to the front door, SLAMMED it hard, footed heavily back to the counter and turned OFF the heater right in front of us! I was stunned! The whole thing took place too fast, I cannot believe I was witnessing a full display of foulness in an environment that's supposed to be friendly! My husband managed to say, " It's okay miss, you seem to be not in a good mood, we'll just leave." Then she had the guts to say, " It's been a busy day!" TOTALLY DISGUSTED! Girl, 1. You need to be educated about 'closing time'. We came in 2pm, you are closing at 2:30, you told us we can eat until 3pm, we came later but we are not late, in fact we decided for to-go orders out of politeness. You have an option to be honest and tell us to leave. Instead you chose that filthy act to get your point across. Get a refresher on basics of good manners. 2. Yes, my 7-year-old may not have completely shut the door, and us, adults, did not notice it right away, but that's not an excuse for such NASTY behavior. 3. You should not be in the service industry if you can't put a line between your personal affairs and your professional environment.
