I heard good reviews of this establishment from friends. We walked over the Orpheus Theater to catch lunch. We all ends up ordering wraps and fries. My friend Shirley and I had the chicken lula kebab wrap. Jacqueline and Tom had beef shawarma wraps and fries. Jacqueline and Tom really enjoyed their wraps. For myself and Shirley, we both agreed that the chicken was well spiced and flavors but it was a tad dry for our taste. I would come back and try something else beside a wrap next time. I love it that they also has like a mini market inside the restaurant. Many different types of random candies and sodas. Our cashier was also our waiter. Came here back on yelp reviews for vegetarian food since the last few days I've eaten side salads and heavy Mac n cheese. It's right across from the Roosevelt hotel! It's inside a grocery store, but don't fret the hole in the wall feel, it's always where the best food is!! I know NOLA is known for food, but again as a vegetarian, I have been left disappointed until now. The falafels were soo fresh! The fried eggplant was also really good. I would skip the tabbouleh salad though. Falafel platter is massive like 8 balls? Also some really cool dranks like I got a lavender sparkling water and my dad an unsweetened guava tea. Now let me say... when you walk in it is a little shocking to see a convenience store in front and tables in the back, but don't let that fool you! The food was absolutely fantastic! Truly wish I would have found this little gem early on.. it would have saved me a lot of money and would allow me to have multiple great meals! I had the gyro platter and upgraded my salad to a Greek salad.... it was amazingly delicious - every bit of it.... They have two locations the one on Canal Street is take out only the other one has full seating. The food was excellent. The wait staff was very attentive. Come with an appetite because the portions are great for the price. read more

Really good food and they're open 24/7! My SO and I came here around 2am Saturday night for some post-drinks grub. I ordered the falafel platter, which comes with hummus, salad and pita bread. The falafel was spiced really well and not dry at all! It came with 6. The hummus was delicious and the garlic sauce I asked for was very good too. This place was right around the corner from our AirBnB and we became regulars during our week in NOLA. The place looks questionable from the outside but never mind the exterior and go get yourself something to eat. It is amazing!! The hummus was some of the best I've ever had. The convenience store actually has a lot of unique items so I highly suggest a stroll through while you're waiting for your food. I ordered the vegetarian platter with a hummus appetizer. I asked if the vegetarian platter came with tzatziki sauce and was told yes (it did not). I also don't think the platter mentioned falafel on it, but it came with it. That was confusing too. I paid at the cash register and then waited for my food. When I got back to my hotel a bounty awaited! Lots of delicious food, I really enjoyed all of it. It kept well as leftovers too. We walked in and sat down at a table since there were menus already placed there.. the cashier of the store was nice and came to take our order. If you're craving an alternative to the fried, oil and butter soaked food of the city, this hits the spot. Food ranged from $10-$15. It has a convenience store to one side and Mediterranean sit down/ table device on the other. They have a plethora of drinks to pick from on the wall: Overall amazing Mediterranean food. I got the vegetarian platter. It had hummus, babaganoush , tabouleh and grape leaves. I ate every last bit. My date got the fried eggplant sandwich and was happy to see it wasn't breaded and deep fried but instead lightly pan fried. He really liked it. We had the vegetarian plate beautifully decorated with pomegranate seeds. The humus was amazing. Grape seeds delicious Next we also got the combo which was even better. The DoorDash lady was almost too prompt. I would NOT order from here using DoorDash, because they cannot check the bag to double check the order. I didn't receive my tabouleh or the chicken. It is in the CBD, and I hope they do really well, because the people are great and the food is awesome. After several days of stuffing ourselves to the gills all over this fabulous city, my partner and I were craving something lighter. Coming from NYC, where middle eastern food is cheap, abundant and often quite good, we were hoping for a little taste of home. Cleo's exceeded our expectations. I still cannot believe this place was in the Central Business District and close to our hotel. You couldn't escape great food in this town if you tried! My partner and I rolled in around 9:30-10pm (Pssst...they are open 24 hours) and we could see that this was a real locals' spot. Half is a convenience store and the other half is a full-service restaurant with the kitchen in full view so you can see the magic happen. Despite its austere surroundings and very reasonable price point, the food is gorgeously plated like you're in an upscale restaurant. The hummus even comes with little pomegranate seeds, crushed pepper hot sauce, olive oil and the single juiciest olive I've ever tasted. Don't believe me? Doesn't look like a restaurant when you pass by . It's a connivence store with a restaurant in the back . Lots of variety in beverages . The lamb was cooked well . Falafel was delicious and the sauce for it was really tasty . Only cons is the pita wasn't the best I've had & a homemade Mediterranean vinaigrette dressing would have really made the salad stand out more . An interesting shop. A mix of a liquor store and a sit down restaurant. Convenient if you're looking to pick up a snack but weird if you want to sit down for a meal as there are patrons running in and out every 10 seconds. I got the gyro and it was pretty bland. It was large enough but wasn't very flavorful and I decided against finishing it all. It was serviceable but I've had better gyros. The owner was nice. read more
