Lets Review this place for what it is, A dining option inside of a Resort. That being said Food prices cost less than a normal resort. Really on par with most prices in Maui. The food is fresh and great tasting. Service is exceptional, We stopped in about 7 times at least and never had a bad experience. We found the Cliff dive a great way to end the night, Grab a few drinks have maybe a 2nd dinner (whos counting) And they had live music every night. We went just before sunset and found a seat pretty easily at the bar. The bartender was friendly and we admired his and the other bartender's efficiency. They never quit moving in a fluid manner while being attentive to us and very friendly. We had the vegan taro burgers and fries and were happy that they offered a couple of vegan choices. The burgers came out in a turquoise lidded container. It was good. The fries were good too! I had a mai tai that I enjoyed. My companion had a pina colada type coconut drink that was also good. The prices were in line with Maui standard prices. There was a hula dancer and a guitarist that were very nice. There is also the torch lighter/cliff diving ceremony that is interesting. I like the name of this place, and the location is excellent! What a view - an open air restaurant/bar overlooking Black Rock and the ocean. You can watch the cliff divers. In addition, it is also overlooking the intricate maze of Sheraton pools and hot tubs. read more

We ate a quick lunch here while staying at the Sheraton. Obviously the best part is the ambiance- nestled in the pool area set up slightly higher than ground level and overlooking the beach. So it has that going for it. We wanted something somewhat light/healthy so opted for the chicken lettuce cups. Food was 1.5/5 at best. The texture of the ground chicken was abismal. Flavor was really lacking. Lettuce was crisp and clean. For $16 it left a lot to be desired. All in all this is a good spot for a quick bite but don't bother trying to be healthy. Get the wings or the nachos or something that's hard to mess up, and enjoy the view! read more

I think this place is cool because it is inside of the Sheraton Resort, but the food is very much Resort food. I thought it was too expensive for the quality of food that we got, but the service was really great and fast. We ordered the mahi-mahi tacos, but they were very peaceful and lacked flavor. I thought that the pineapple salsa and the cream sauce they had would really make it pop, but it did nothing for the tacos. We also order the nachos and added Chicken on top of them. They're your typical bar nachos so I would say they were better than the Mahi tacos. I did see people with burgers and that looks not that exciting, however if you're drinking and need some food to put on your stomach nothing wrong with trying this place out. They definitely have good strong drinks, it seems like everyone around always says the mai tai but definitely branch out. By the pool they do have wait staff that will take your order and deliver your food. It could all be charged to your room if you're staying at the Sheraton! If you need something quick to put on your stomach, I think this is a decent choice. read more

This is a great little bar at the Sheraton with amazing views of Black Rock and sunsets over Lanai'i. It's outdoors, unassuming (feel free to show up sandy), and fun. The mixed drinks were strong - and they ought to be for hotel prices. But check out happy hour (3-5 pm daily) and things get more reasonable. A $15 regular mai tai is $8 on happy hour. The Drunken Monkey drink was delicious but not at all potent. As for food, stick to items that come from the grill! The grilled chicken wings were amazing. The burgers hit the spot. But if you order anything *not* grilled, prepared to be disappointed. The nachos were horrible! Chips were slathered in fake nacho cheese sauce, store-bought salsa and guacamole. This spot is located next to the infamous Black rock beach, known as a great spot for cliff diving and we had an awesome view to the divers. I ordered the Tiger Shrimp with coleslaw and I must admit it was top tier! Only reason I'm rating this 4/5 is because we also ordered a build your own burger but in short, there was nothing to build for the burger. Of course, because this bar is located on the resort, it's on the pricey side. Drinks range from $10-15 and food is about $12-20. Got there right before sunset and had to wait for a seat. No big deal as we were able to see the sunset very clearly while we waited. As soon as the sun went down the place cleared out a bit and we got a great seat. The sky was even better as the sun went down to dark so it was pretty great. He saw the sad look on my face and was so helpful and went above and beyond to call and see if there was any way they could squeeze us in and then walked us to the sold out restaurant so that we can have thanksgiving food. Ahh nothing like Monday Night Football starting at 2:30pm in Hawaii. This outdoor semi-circle of a bar has happy hour, but it doesn't start until 3pm and doesn't include any food. You do save about $3 off beers and they have two fairly decent TV sets in both corners of the bar. They ran out of one beer, but I did partake in a few bikini blonde lagers, but the real bikini blondes were right over my shoulder on the beach. The place was not busy, so the bartenders were easy to contact and ultra friendly. The $14 nachos were huge and had enough of all the usual ingredients, plus grilled chicken breast, to keep anybody happy. Up Country Kula Kale Salad $12 -- kale, wild rice, quinoa, cucumber, tomato, sun-dried cranberry, beets, tossed in lemon honey vinaigrette. SO YUM! This has basically all the ingredients I love so naturally I had to order this. I think I can eat this all day with some tomato soup and baguette or grilled cheese. Actually, I think I can add this to the list of things I can eat alone for the rest of my life. The burger is a solid A in my book. It was $14 to start and since there's 2 premium toppings added that's $2 each. The beef was juicy and very flavorful, the Maui onions are of course the best, and the buns were good because it didn't get soggy. Needless to say the view was spectacular! It's an amazing location right by Black Rock. Quick by the way, the sun does not set at 5:30. More like 7.. Haha so don't go too soon or just expect to sit there for a while. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food was at the Sheraton Maui, especially at Cliff Dive Bar! We had planned to eat elsewhere as much as possible during our stay, assuming the food would be sub-par resort food, but were proven wrong. My husband had the pulled pork BBQ sandwich and I had a chicken skewer. Both were tasty, but the best part was the kimchee miso aioli...SO GOOD! I had to fight my husband over it - he kept dunking his sandwich in it. Not fair! I came home from the trip hoping to find a recipe for it online, but so far no luck. I'll be dreaming about that sauce... Yes, it is pricey, but that is to be expected in Hawaii. I would have preferred my mai tai to cost less than $11, but what are you going to do?
