I want to thank our Server, Austin, for setting the tone for our meal last night. What a wonderful place to dine! The food was absolutely delicious. The views of St. George, Pine Valley Mountain, Zion and Kolob are inspiring. I watched the video on the homepage and had very high expectations. All of them were met. The staff, the atmosphere and the food all met those expectations. And did I mention the food? Yumm! I I had the Pork Chops. The food arrived in great form. The presentation was better than most I've seen. The temperature was perfect and the creativity in combining flavors was genius. I found a completely new way to eat sweet potatoes; apples, raisins and what seemed to me to be cherry also combined fused the flavor of a perfectly breaded pork chop and my favorite potato. And we'll be having it again today. I couldn't eat it all in one sitting. Well done. What a perfect Anniversary Dinner. Thank You! We'll be back for the Hamburgers. Don't miss this place!! read more

Ok you definitely want to come just for the view. This has a very nice upscale feel that you can enjoy for a special evening. I don't drink but I observed a lot of fine wines and different beers were available. The free starter of sour dough bread with an excellent soft butter spread will continue throughout the meal. I was still nibbling on it after the meal, it was so dang good. A friend had salmon and loved it. Both times I got the burger and it was huge and really good. My wife got the chicken Fried chicken and liked it. It's their specialty but it just didn't impress me. The hamburger did impress though. They have Parmesan fries which are unusual and fun and delicious. read more

Pros: This cute restaurant quite easily boasts the best views in St. George. All the tables had a pretty view of downtown Saint George. The service was good. The food presentation was very aesthetically pleasing. The coconut shrimp were fairly good as well. Cons: I ordered the flat iron steak, I ordered it medium rare and it was over cooked, more like well done. The steak was very tough and didn't taste like it had any seasoning on it. The vegetables were bland as well. I wouldn't recommend ordering this menu item. Overall: If you want pretty views this is the place to go, I was however underwhelmed with the items my party ordered off the menu. read more

I have always loved the Cliffside Inn, and it was not a disappointment!!!! The service at lunch time was fabulous and our lunch was amazing!!! I usually always get the coconut crunchy shrimp it is so good and two of my gas also got it and loved it!!!! When I think I got the pasta and that was also sound good and the salads are amazing!!! Two of them had not been to St. George before and they were not looking out and seeing the incredible view!!! I've eaten here several times in the past 4 years and while it's never disappointed it's not the best restaurant I've ever been to. My test of any restaurant is to see if they can make a good hamburger. Cliffside gets a 6, maybe a 7 out of 10. You can't beat the views though. read more

A beautifully situated restaurant overlooking the town, the Cliffside was a delightful experience! They had a nice wine selection (actually more than one Rose as options!). Tasty clam chowder and very generous with the amount of clam - felt like I was back in New England! Their almond trout was much larger than I expected, but delicately delicious. We went for our anniversary and had never been before. We sat on the patio and even though there were people in front of us it was still a beautiful view! I got the Chicken Fried Chicken and my husband got a burger. His fries were so delicious! Lots of garlic! All of our food was so yummy. For dessert our amazing waitress, Brooke, recommended a dessert not even on the menu. It was a skillet cookie with Carmel, pecans, ice cream, and berries. So good! Will definitely be back. read more

The family was traveling through St. George and had dinner at Cliffside. The view was awesome as you had almost a 180 degree view of the valley from our indoor seating area (they have a patio as well and the views were probably better). We had the calamari, chili salmon, NY strip, kids cheeseburger and kids chicken cutlet (only one, but 4 oz). All of the food was wonderful and the kids meals came with desert (only $8 each). They have a nice beer and wine list. The NY strip was one of the better steaks I've had; came with a tomato bacon jam, but you didn't need it as the steak stood alone by itself. The chili salmon had a nice crust and the mango salsa complimented it very well. Our server said that she preferred the trout, so if it is as good or better than the salmon, consider it. Kids cheeseburger was quality beef and the bun was perfect. The chicken cutlet did not have too much breading and had good flavor. Kids meals came with garlic Parmesan fries and and ice cream sundae for $8! Great deal and well made. If we make it back to St. George, we will definitely consider it for a dining option. Highly recommend Cliffside if you only have one meal in St. George. Entrees were a bit more expensive, but well worth it. read more

Unfortunately, the restaurant does not live up to the view. If what you're doing is going for the view, I recommend appetizers and a glass of wine and then heading home. It is not the waiters that are the disappointment... They do a great job. I think the hostess could use a lesson in manners. Not all of us understand the drinking rules of Utah and they were quite short as to how it all works. "You can have a drink when you order some food". Patients at that job is what will make all the difference for the "foreigners" coming to Utah. Just so we're clear a foreigner in this case means California The major disappointment is the food. The waiter said we have this great dish it's the chefs special and he basically sold us on it and of the four people, three people ordered it. Then a few minutes later he comes back and says I hate to say this but we only have one left and I looked at him and I said well run back to the kitchen and save it for us and then come back and will give you the rest of our order. Then we were forced to rethink our entire menu. Does this sound stressful? we had ordered a nice risotto as a starter, as well as bruschetta. Both were fantastic. As a substitute for the disappearing special,I had ordered the trout which was OK but guess what I got for the side...more risotto. I asked the waiter couldn't you have told me you're about to receive more risotto and give me the option to order something else? He apologized and gave me a second choice but by the time the substitute dish arrived the entire dinner was over. Another negative was the flat iron steak. My stepfather ordered it and asked for medium rare by the time I realized that what he had gotten was well done he was already halfway through it. I said why are you eating that. Well at 80 years old he just said, what do they know about cooking. But by then it was too late so basically the entire meal was a disaster. They tried to make up for it by giving us free dessert. The dessert was great but if it had been my restaurant I would've comped the well done steak. I would've comped the risotto. Throwing two unwanted desserts at us just gets a restaurant reviews like this one. The view from this beautiful Restaraunt is amazing and only surpassed by the food and friendly staff. Came her twice for lunch. Had the pear /cheese pasta and the chicken Cajun pasta on one visit and the burger and fish tacos the 2nd. The fish tacos were good but the fish was a little bit dry but the other dishes were absolutely fantastic! Service was prompt and attentive. Go check this place out!! read more

My husband and I loved this place! We came to St. George for our anniversary and dressed up nice for a fancy night out and it was the perfect spot! We loved the outdoor seating with such a beautiful view of St. George, especially the temple. I had the Hurricane Chicken which was absolutely fantastic and he had the Chef's Seafood Special, which happened to be Swordfish, which was amazing! We loved the soft music and the elegant environment. The waitress was absolutely great, as well. The food came out really quick, which was an awesome plus! I was staying at Inn on the Cliff, so I wanted to eat here due to convenience. I made reservations by phone about a week in advance for a Saturday evening @6pm. As the day came, I realized that I would not be able to make it in time, so I asked to change it to 6:30 & then again to 7:30pm. I was told that 7:30pm would actually be better for the restaurant anyway since 6:30 was super busy. I arrived at 7:30pm, but there wasn't an available table yet. At about 7:45, I was told that there were still 3 parties ahead of me. There were tables that were done eating, but they were still conversing at their table. The hostess offered us outdoor seating, but only one side that had tables available had a broken heater and it was a cold day, so I declined. I cancelled my reservation and ordered take-out from nearby restaurants for my group of 4. At about 9:30pm, there were a bunch of people standing in the parking lot, so I assumed restaurant customers were starting to leave. I called to ask if it was still busy because my group wanted dessert. We just wanted the opportunity to experience dining at Cliffside Restaurant. The hostess I had encountered earlier told me that they had just started slowing down, so down we went. When I arrived, the hostess recognized me, apologized for earlier, and said that even though they close @10pm, we are welcome to order food, not just dessert, if we were still hungry. She also proceeded to seat us at the only available indoor table by the window, where we got the incredible view. That was very generous of her because she absolutely did not have to and we did not mind either way since we already got the view from our room. The three of us (the 4th went to bed early) ordered the 4 cheese pear pasta, a chocolate molten cake, and a cookie skillet. Wow, everything was delicious! The pasta was tortellini filled with cheese and pear. The cheese was very rich and the dish very flavorful. We preferred the chocolate molten cake over the cookie skillet because it was warm, moist, and melted in the mouth. The ice cream for the cookie skillet melted really fast due to bring on a hot skillet. The cookie was nice, warm, and soft, still very enjoyable. The service from all the staff members I encountered were top notch. We really enjoyed ourselves and are glad that we were able to dine here even if our dinner plans didn't work out. This place fills up with locals, not just hotel guests, so make reservations but be aware that you may not get seated right away as they get really busy and cannot control exactly what time and how long guests take. read more

You think a place with atmosphere wouldn't have good food. But you'd be wrong when it comes to the Cliffside Restaurant. The atmosphere is great, the view is fantastic. The food was great, we had a big group. We each had something different and taste it off each other's plates. The beef was cooked to order, and the seafood was cooked perfectly. The appetizers were good in size and very shareable. The desserts, they were great too. One tip, make sure you have a reservation before you go, or you might not get in. Sad to give this beautiful restaurant a poor review. The last meal there was mushy salmon on a wilted salad and soup that was lukewarm. Pasta dish was nothing special. Service was good as usual, but that alone will not keep us coming back. Watch your kitchen Cliffside before you slide off into mediocre territory. Great view and ambiance. I expected more from the food though. I got the Farmers Burger and fries. Honestly, if you want a burger that tastes better go to In n out. My husband's steak was over cooked but he said it was okay tasting. However, I do highly recommend the lemon lime aid drink. If I go again I would probably just get that and a salad. If you want a window seat be sure to request it when you make your reservation. I didn't know we needed to, and our table was by the front entrance and people were constantly walking past our table which was not ideal. read more

Third time was not a charm. Cliffside is in a lovely location. Great view and pleasant sitting on the outside patio. We have eaten here three times during this year. Always with guests. We had a visitor this week and because of the location decided to give it another try. We ordered three appetizers, shrimp, calamari and Brussels sprouts. The shrimp were enjoyed even though the accompanying sauce tasted right out of a marmalade jar. Sprouts had a tasty balsamic glaze and were nearly cooked and the calamari was tough and tasteless. It is disappointing that each time we've eaten here all the food is barely luke warm at best. Our friend ordered the red trout which was served with a colorful array of vegetables which were raw. The fish was barely warm, mild tasting like farm salmon and she said the sauce was "awful". My husband ordered the hangar steak medium with shrimp. Shrimp were ok. The meat was so stringy and dry he was unable to eat it. His meal was served with carrots which I ate. Soft and well seasoned. I ordered the rib eye medium which was served with sprouts, carrots and fingerling potatoes. The meat was dry and tough and inedible. The sprouts and carrots were raw. The potatoes were cooked perfectly and with the addition of seasoning, tasty. We ordered dessert and again disappointing. The cheesecakes tasted like they'd been in a freezer too long before defrosting. My husband did enjoy the root beer float and the wine. I don't like to leave reviews like this but for over $260 I expected better. Earlier I did mention to our waiter that the meat was tough and dry and he said it looked good to him! Nonetheless, we did like our waiter who was friendly and professional and I give him 5 stars. Everyone's taste is different and good for those that have had a nice meal at Cliffside but I'm sad to say we have not. I thought perhaps I was being a bit harsh or unlucky but checked with friends, including my Dentist who have had the same experience and will not be returning. By the end of the meal, I did not have the energy to complain to the mgr and just wanted to leave. It is a nice location and staff are friendly but the food is not there yet. read more

Cliff Side Restaurant This beautiful restaurant is definitely fine dining. You do not have to wear formal attire, but you would not be out of the place if you do so. There is interior seating or outdoor, and large glass windows that allow you to look over the entire St George Landscape. If you need somewhere to go for a special occasion or simply want to "treat yoself" this is a fun place to go. The dishes are yummy, from a pear pasta to a gourmet mac and cheese lamb burger. Pretty expensive but amazing service and experience. read more

Such a gorgeous view! Awesome menu and offerings. Really delicious. One note...we did full dinner, bottle of champagne, app's, dinner and dessert. A nice dinner tab for a server. There is nothing to not like about Cliffside! Being a total #avgeek, this conglomeration of hotel and restaurant sitting cliffside on the property of an old airport just wins me over from the start. As one might imagine, the views are exceptional as is the decor and ambiance of the restaurant itself. Once we arrived without a reservation, we had a minimal wait and were seated by the window overlooking downtown. Our server was over quickly and introduced himself and the specials of the day. He was really on top of it the entire time and was an exemplary model of good customer service. I ordered the Cliffside Wedge, which did not disappoint. I also had some of my colleague's vegetarian Farro Risotto which was totally amazing! I will definitely visit Cliffside again and even consider staying at the adjoining hotel.
