I was set on getting pancakes from here after hearing everyone rave about it and that it's a must try when visiting Brooklyn. I ordered the blueberry pancakes and a cup of lemonade, which came to about 25 usd. Note that they do not take cash here! If you're traveling and want to use cash, you can get a Time Out Market cash card that you can then use to pay. Once you order, they give you a buzzer that works anywhere if you're on the first floor of the market. Since I came on a Saturday, it took about 20 to 25 minutes to get the pancakes. While you wait, scout for a seat!! The market is very busy on the weekend and it can be difficult to find a place to sit, especially if you have a larger group. This was the best pancake that I have ever had in my life! The outside was super crispy, and the inside was oh so fluffy. The maple butter that they give you is to die for, and I made sure to drench every inch of the pancake in that butter. You get 3 slices with tons of blueberries on top. The portion is great and something that can be shared with 2 people. They also have pancakes in banana nut and chocolate chip flavor. Since it's nearly impossible to get a table or reservation at the Clinton st. in the city, this one will have to do. Honestly just as good though, only a smaller menu. I've been here a few times and it's always consistently satisfying. I usually get the pancakes (both blueberry and chocolate chip are great so go with your gut). After hearing about Clinton St baking company for so long, I finally got to try it in DUMBO to avoid the long lines. BLUEBERRY PANCAKES The maple butter was delicious, and the blueberry compote was more tart than I was expecting but done really well, thick and enough to coat the fluffy, thick pancakes you're getting that are nicely grilled and browned. In between the layers of the pancakes seems to be some thyme-flavored component that made it herby and was quite strong (maybe just a touch too strong) as combined with the more tart aspect of the blueberry sauce the overall dish could have been sweeter, surprisingly. But maybe that's a good thing as I wasn't feeling like death after the dish. But I would probs order a different flavor next time. EGG SANDWICH W CHICKEN APPLE SAUSAGE THICK biscuit on the top not sure if I was an odd one out in that regard but the biscuit was fluffy and warm and had a nice crispness to the exterior. But we decided to sit in another area of the market and found a nice cozy corner. The pancakes were nice and fluffy and rich but there weren't that many chocolate chips... at first I thought there weren't any inside and it was only covered with chocolate on top but then I realized they were there but only like 5 per pancake lol. Our group of 4 ate breakfast at here 2 weeks ago. We actually got there about 15 minutes before they opened. There was no line and we were the first group to order. Brunch with a view will cost you in time! We checked this location out on a Saturday at around 11:40am and were quoted a 45 minute wait for food. So we wandered around the market with the buzzer for a little bit (the buzzer will vibrate when your food is ready and is purported to only work on the 1st floor of the market). We also took a quick walk around outside since it would be quite the wait. I have been to the location on Clinton Street and have loved their pancakes. This week, the DUMBO location had a special: the strawberry shortcake waffle with vanilla cream and shortbread crumble, and I was thinking about this breakfast with a view all week! The down side is it's first come first serve on the weekends so it's risky that you can't make reservations and the space is small so not great for large parties but definitely worth coming and waiting anyway. You won't be disappointed. We went on a Monday at 9am which is when they opened. Our waiter Matthew was the sweetest. He was probably serving about 5-6 tables besides us and he still made it seem like we were the only ones in there. The pancakes were the highlight Ofcourse. My husband got those with some cheese grits and scrambled eggs. The grits were really good aswell! I didn't know what to expect since we live in the south where grits are on every menu. House smoked salmon portion was generous and very fresh. Not too salty either. I ordered Eggs Benedict with lox topped over Latkes and my son ordered a Buttermilk Waffle topped with Blueberry Crumble along with homemade syrup. I had a taste of his, it was sweet but off the chain. My brunch item, the hollandaise sauce had a hint of habanero. The Latkes were thick and crispy, they were able to hold their own with the runny egg yolk. Was that a hint of onion in the Latkes? This dish, each bite was pure ecstasy. And I mean caked because the food when it finally came out was cold. Goodbye ooey gooey goodness. Then the hash browns?! I have never seen anything like them. DISGUSTING. I fully expected the warm, crispy, golden hash that we all know and love. What I got is probably best described as burnt mashed potatoes. (See for yourself). And they were bland.
