Just WOW! This is a fried chicken experience you don't want to miss out on. I am not familiar with this world of Nashville Chicken so I was not sure exactly what to expect during my first visit. May I add that the smells wafting out of this store are just TANTALIZING to the senses? THE FOOD/DRINK So far, I have tried the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich (Mild spice), the Nashville Style Wings, and the Corn Fritters. For $12, I had my doubts about the chicken sandwich, and boy was I wrong. That thing was gargantuan!! Even though I like spice, they recommended I start out with the mild level spice and I'm glad I listened. I'm usually okay with my spice levels, but this one with the heat from the freshly prepared food, had juuuuust the right kick. The chicken was SO JUICY and the seasoning was not something I'd had before. I'm not the biggest fan of sauerkraut in general, and I might forego it next time, but it added a good contrasting bit of crunch to the chicken. You could totally split a sandwich with your bestie or your sig oth, but let's be real. xD For my second visits, I got the wings--okok. So the description on the menu says 3 WHOLE WINGS for $10 and I'm here sitting throwing major stink eye because how dare you charge me $10 for 3 measly wings? I stand corrected YET AGAIN. Not only were these wings HUGE, but these are actually whole wings (xD) with the wing tip, flat, and the drumlet. By other wing restaurant standards, that's 6 wings and then some. Got this with mild spice and Nashville style. They prepared it FRESH and it was still piping hot by the time I brought it back to feast on at work. I'm actually writing this as I wait for it to cool down, because yo girl may or may not have burned the tips of her fingers and melted off her plastic fork trying to dig in too early HAHA. But even the first bites were just amazingly juicy and tender and flavorful and everything in between. The corn fritters! I wasn't sure what to expect with these, but I love fried things and I love me my corn. Oh boy, I do not regret this at all. I got the Comeback Sauce with this which was this sour cream kinda white sauce that just complemented the flavors quite spectacularly. I love the little bits of corn inside. It's slightly sweet and savory overall, and I'm for sure coming back for this next time as well. THE SERVICE Alright last but not least: the service. I've been here twice, and an additional time when I popped in to grab a menu real fast because I was curious about the hype. Each time, the people up front were super friendly and polite. They were super super helpful answering all my questions, and I never felt rushed or sassed like I do at some other places. They were nice about letting me know the wait time, and offered a cup of water if I wanted it. I'll admit. It's very easy for me to gripe about customer service and try to find flaws, but I'm just so blown away by the professionalism here, and that's not something I can say often. Their teamwork appears to be spot on as well from what I could see--it's hard to see a well oiled machine like that and I'd like to send a shout out to the staff for their consistent hard work and customer service so keep up the great job y'all! FINAL THOUGHTS Overall, food is great, service is great, what more can you ask for? I'll for sure be back, and look forward to trying the other things on their menu. What I want in the perfect fried chicken is for it to be super crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and seasoned just right, without being too greasy. Cluck Kitchen did not disappoint me. There was no line when I went, and our order only took five minutes. Our food was hot when we got it too. What's worse than getting cold fried food? I got the wings because my favorite part of the chicken is the wing, because it has the most crunch and the least meat. I was super happy with my order and loved the pickles that came with it. My bf got the chicken tenders and he loved them. They were very juicy on the inside and the seasoning was perfect. I thought this place was much better than Summer's in Newport and Gus' in Santa Ana. Man, not sure I recall ever having a Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich, so I'm calling this my first time and it was delicious!! I had the Nashville Chicken sandwich, medium spicy level, which was perfect for what I was going for. Good spice flavor with a little sting left in your mouth! This level was not over powering and super yummy. The chicken was juicy, crispy, and yummy. I also tried their fritters, Mac-n-cheese, and pickles. Have to say: I did not find the medium to be particularly hot. We arrived at John Wayne airport and headed directly to Cluck Kitchen for lunch. The chicken sandwiches here are pretty life-changing. I got the Nashville Hot chicken sandwich. The chicken for this is perfectly cooked and seasoned. The breast was almost an inch thick, but it was tender and tempting with every bit. The first two bites, you think that the bun is going to be too much, but you soon realize that you need that heavy-duty bun to have it stand up to the juice of this sandwich. The staff at the register warned us that their flavors tend to the hot side, so since it was my first time here I got the mild. I was thankful that she had pointed this out because it was plenty warm. I also ordered some of the street corn fritters. Compared to the chicken they did not have the same level of flavor, and I would recommend picking up an extra cup of sauce to dip the fritters in. The cups of sauce cost an extra 75 cents, but I think it would have really added to the fritters. The fritters are light and fluffy. Came at 6:30pm on a Wednesday and there was a good line out the door and the line grew even longer behind me as people tried to grab dinner before the 7pm closing time. The wait was not very long and the staff were all super nice! The decor and everything was aesthetically pleasing and modern. My friends and I all enjoyed our food and were so excited and started digging in once we got home so we didn't get pictures haha I really enjoyed the spiciness of the chicken and I love how they allow you to choose different levels of heat! One of our COVID-19 fave restaurants - line moves quick as the menu is limited. We like how customisable the spice levels are here though the Medium is pretty spicy, and Hot has defeated me. I thought I was good at eating spicy food until I tried the Hot here and could only make it through one chicken tender. I suck. Or...maybe they are just really good at making things spicy! I learned from my first visit though and ordered Mild tenders (even though it seemed like the wimpy thing to do) the second time around, and found that, while I could eat spicier than that level, it was very enjoyable. The spice builds by the end of the meal so that you feel like you've accomplished something, besides filling your gullet with beautifully fried, wonderfully seasoned, and amazingly succulent giant chicken tenders. The tenders are served atop a piece of white bread and a smattering of pickles. We always order the curly fries - one $4 portion is plenty to share for two or three people, and the $5 fried pickles, which feature a nice light batter and are expertly fried. I recommend giving this place a try. Their sauces are not over done, they aren't messy or sloppy which is important for finger food. There's no indoor seating but they have tons of outdoor seating and there is shade!! I tried their chicken tenders, the amount of spicy was "hot" on my tenders which is a medium spice they offered. If your a spicy person "hot" would be perfect unless you have a hard time then I suggest going one below. The tenders were a large size I didn't even finish them. It comes with sauces on the side as well. I also tried their corn fritters and those are pretty good as well. They don't overdo it on the bread. Howlin in LA is great but Cluck Kitchen in my opinion is just as delicious, if not better (and without the long wait and the drive if you live in Orange County). Their chicken is juicy on the inside and the skin is crispy, which we all know is the perfect combination. The hotness level is on the spicier end, so just something to keep in mind. The portion is huge and after one sandwich I'm stuffed. I like that their sandwich doesn't feel as saucy or wet which sometimes could make it difficult to eat, but their sandwiches don't have that problem as they're packed nicely. I don't even know where to begin. If I was able to give a negative 10 stars I would. Starting off with the girl at the register with absolutely no personality. She did not look like she wanted to be there, and was less than helpful. Next is the food, if you want to call it that. My wife and I went there drove over and hour to be disappointed. Our sandwiches "Nashville " were absolute trash. Dry, hard and over seasoned. The cold slaw was sweet and bland, the buns were soggy. The only thing half decease the soda from the machine. Was craving fried chicken and this place popped up on our yelp list! They have good reviews and somewhat new, so we gave it a shot. There was a small line, but service was quick. We only waited 2 minutes for our chicken. Got me worried because that could mean the food has been sitting under the heat lamp. Wow, their wings and tenders were absolutely delicious. First of all, this place is duuumb expensive. It's $12 for a sandwich and another $5 dollars if you want fries! Granted, the fry portion is massive and can easily feed 2+ people so if you split it it's not so bad. The sandwich is delicious and crispy, I got the nashville hot, the *hot* variant. It was really spicy but not overly so, the fries were really crispy and salty, overall I was super pleased with the dining experience but I don't think I'll be coming by too often. I can justify the $12 price of the sandwich because it's delicious and quite large, if they add a smaller fry option for half the price I'd have a really hard time staying away.
