One of our COVID-19 fave restaurants - line moves quick as the menu is limited. We like how customisable the spice levels are here though the Medium is pretty spicy, and Hot has defeated me. I thought I was good at eating spicy food until I tried the Hot here and could only make it through one chicken tender. I suck. Or...maybe they are just really good at making things spicy! I learned from my first visit though and ordered Mild tenders (even though it seemed like the wimpy thing to do) the second time around, and found that, while I could eat spicier than that level, it was very enjoyable. The spice builds by the end of the meal so that you feel like you've accomplished something, besides filling your gullet with beautifully fried, wonderfully seasoned, and amazingly succulent giant chicken tenders. The tenders are served atop a piece of white bread and a smattering of pickles. We always order the curly fries - one $4 portion is plenty to share for two or three people, and the $5 fried pickles, which feature a nice light batter and are expertly fried. I recommend giving this place a try. Their sauces are not over done, they aren't messy or sloppy which is important for finger food. There's no indoor seating but they have tons of outdoor seating and there is shade!! I tried their chicken tenders, the amount of spicy was "hot" on my tenders which is a medium spice they offered. If your a spicy person "hot" would be perfect unless you have a hard time then I suggest going one below. The tenders were a large size I didn't even finish them. It comes with sauces on the side as well. I also tried their corn fritters and those are pretty good as well. They don't overdo it on the bread. The vibe is there is great they are well organized and they even have cute matching shirts. She answered all my questions about the food and I didn't feel rushed to make a decision at all, I really appreciated that. This is my new favorite/go-to spot for spicy fried chicken sandwiches! Howlin in LA is great but Cluck Kitchen in my opinion is just as delicious, if not better (and without the long wait and the drive if you live in Orange County). Their chicken is juicy on the inside and the skin is crispy, which we all know is the perfect combination. The hotness level is on the spicier end, so just something to keep in mind. The portion is huge and after one sandwich I'm stuffed. I like that their sandwich doesn't feel as saucy or wet which sometimes could make it difficult to eat, but their sandwiches don't have that problem as they're packed nicely. Fried chicken maybe one of my favorite guilty pleasures. I was happy to find this place on my drive back, so I decided to try it out. It was a tough decision between sandwich or chicken tender, but I got their Nashville hot chicken sandwich, with a side of corn fritters. It was recommended by the person working there to go mild if you still want a little kick. Even though I like my food spicy, there are certain days you want to keep your stomach happy. The sandwich was delicious! The batter and all the flavors from sweet, spicy and sour was just right. The corn fritters were really good too, they were crispy and fluffy, I just didn't enjoy the sauce in it came with much, but it's OK cause it was fine without it too. First of all, this place is duuumb expensive. It's $12 for a sandwich and another $5 dollars if you want fries! Granted, the fry portion is massive and can easily feed 2+ people so if you split it it's not so bad. The sandwich is delicious and crispy, I got the nashville hot, the *hot* variant. It was really spicy but not overly so, the fries were really crispy and salty, overall I was super pleased with the dining experience but I don't think I'll be coming by too often. I can justify the $12 price of the sandwich because it's delicious and quite large, if they add a smaller fry option for half the price I'd have a really hard time staying away. Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich - Nice big piece of white meat, unfortunately a wee bit on the dry side, "extra hot" is a good spice level, but definitely not "extra hot", the seasoning was a bit sweet for me, and the bread was too bready, I would like a fluffier/ less dense bread. Some bites felt like all bread. 3 Jumbo Tenders - jumbo indeed! I liked this more than the sandwich, you get a slice of white bread and pickles with the tenders, a good deal for $10. I get the Nashville hot medium. I think the slaw, kickback sauce and giant pickles are awesome and contrast well with the huge portion of chicken. The only difference for me here is they are true to the spice level. I wouldn't choose this over Popeyes or chick-fillet or rather I wouldn't care if it's this or Popeyes or chick-fillet. Serving is big if that's a novelty to you - not to me. By the way all these places I mentioned serve salt as the main attraction. In the end it's blah. Would I eat here again??? If Popeyes or chick-fillet is 7 miles away I would otherwise I won't. Too big, I don't want to take this home and stink up my car of fried food that's the other reason.
