This was decided as our lunch spot by the recommendation of my girlfriend on a weekend. Surprisingly it was a bit slow during that hour. It is a fast food spot so can't expect a full service experience. We sat outside of the spot in a common sitting patio area. My girlfriend ordered Nashville hot chicken sandwich hot spicy level with fired pickles. I chose EXTRA HOT Nashville hot chicken tenders. Kid you not, I think I overestimated myself to order the 2nd spiciest level and tbh I regret it since even though I completed 2.5 tenders desperately, I couldn't enjoy it. Having tried most of the joints in OC, LA and Nashville, I'm confident that Cluck is one of the top chicken joints among the list. Basically tried the entire menu aside from the Havarti sandwich, which I'll definitely be coming back for. Below is my take on each item -- Cluck Classic - their take on the classic chicken sandwich. Comes with mayo, lettuce, chicken and bread. Solid option if you're looking for something that's not spicy. Nashville Hot - Howlin' Ray's was always one of my favorite hot chicken sandwich joints to go to. The only thing I'd give Howlin' flack for is how heavy their batter is and how greasy I'd feel after finishing a sandwich. Cluck's sandwich tastes just as good, if not better while also being less heavy and greasy. Highly recommend. Tenders - both plain and Nashville Hot tenders are amazing. Better tenders than Dave's in LA. I recommend either the cluck sauce or the ranch as the dipping sauce. Wings - Really good size on the wings and extremely tender as well. Perfect for any chicken wing fans. Fries - What I like about cluck is that they opted for the curly fries. Jack in the Box curly fries are one of my favorite fast food fries so this was a welcome addition to their list of sides. Mama's Mac - good balance of creaminess and cheesiness. Usually not a fan of Mac and cheese but this was so good that I could finish the whole cup. Street Corn Fritters - fried cornbread or cornbread on crack? My personal favorite side item. Comes with a white sauce which adds some creaminess to the fritters. Must have if you go. Fried Pickles - what's not to like about fried pickles? Good balance of saltiness and sourness from the pickles. Solid option for sides. Bacon Potato Salad - a nice way to end the meal especially after having a lot of spicy food. Almost felt like it was cooling down my stomach as I was eating this. Very refreshing and delicious. If you're a fan of fried chicken in or Nashville style Hot chicken, this place is a must try. Hopefully they will add chicken legs and thighs in the future as well. We arrived at John Wayne airport and headed directly to Cluck Kitchen for lunch. The chicken sandwiches here are pretty life-changing. I got the Nashville Hot chicken sandwich. The chicken for this is perfectly cooked and seasoned. The breast was almost an inch thick, but it was tender and tempting with every bit. The first two bites, you think that the bun is going to be too much, but you soon realize that you need that heavy-duty bun to have it stand up to the juice of this sandwich. The staff at the register warned us that their flavors tend to the hot side, so since it was my first time here I got the mild. I was thankful that she had pointed this out because it was plenty warm. I also ordered some of the street corn fritters. Compared to the chicken they did not have the same level of flavor, and I would recommend picking up an extra cup of sauce to dip the fritters in. The cups of sauce cost an extra 75 cents, but I think it would have really added to the fritters. The fritters are light and fluffy. I was seeking a solid Nashville Hot Chicken spot for quite some time now, and this will be my new go-to. I ordered the Nashville Hot, a Harvarti Hen (for variety), and a side of corn fritters. Their chicken is super impressive. At first, it looked like they just assembled it lopsided so it would look better, but I was still eating chicken until the very last bite (and had to unhinge my jaw for the first few bites). As for their spiciness... Our cashier "warned" us that even Mild was still a little spicy. We went with their Hot level, which felt similar to habanero spiciness. There was definitely a warm heat throughout, but I think we'll upgrade to Extra Hot next time if we wanna sweat, huff, and puff a little. I wouldn't order the Havarti Hen again, especially since I favor spicy food. In comparison to the Nashville Hot, the Havarti Hen just didn't have as much flavor. However, I do appreciate the option for those who might not eat spicy food. The corn fritters reminded me of corndog batter, and were very pleasant to eat along with the spicy chicken. They were surprisingly crispy, but they should be eaten soon after they're made (so maybe think twice before ordering these to-go). I also added pickle chips and ranch (side order and I stuck them on myself) for some extra juiciness. They don't offer changes or additions to their menu sandwiches, but you can ask for certain things to be left off of the sandwiches. Service was prompt and the staff were all very friendly! Wow! Used to live In Irvine last year when this place was professionally ran and their chicken sandwiches were delicious.Moved to Temecula. Made the drive down because I was craving cluck. Came in around 5:30pm Sunday there were 3 people waiting in line(one was in a wheelchair). No workers were in sight for about 20min. Then 3 people came out the back and one of them told us the guy that takes the orders is in the restroom. 10 mins later one of the 3 guys that came out the back earlier told us he would write our order down on a piece of paper and when the other guy got out of bathroom he would charge us. 7 mins after that a tall man came out the bathroom with a bag of wipes and punched our orders in the pay point and charged us. When I got back to my car to eat the sandwich and gave my kids their sandwiches the old frying oil they use coated my mouth with a nasty very old oil taste. The fries were cold and limp...gross! My kids and I were so hungry. We threw it all away and went on our way. $75 dollars and an hr of time down the drain. You guys fell off big time! Don't waste your time and money. read more

Just WOW! This is a fried chicken experience you don't want to miss out on. I am not familiar with this world of Nashville Chicken so I was not sure exactly what to expect during my first visit. May I add that the smells wafting out of this store are just TANTALIZING to the senses? For $12, I had my doubts about the chicken sandwich, and boy was I wrong. That thing was gargantuan!! I'm usually okay with my spice levels, but this one with the heat from the freshly prepared food, had juuuuust the right kick. The chicken was SO JUICY and the seasoning was not something I'd had before. I'm not the biggest fan of sauerkraut in general, and I might forego it next time, but it added a good contrasting bit of crunch to the chicken. You could totally split a sandwich with your bestie or your sig oth, but let's be real. xD For my second visits, I got the wings--okok. So the description on the menu says 3 WHOLE WINGS for $10 and I'm here sitting throwing major stink eye because how dare you charge me $10 for 3 measly wings? I stand corrected YET AGAIN. Not only were these wings HUGE, but these are actually whole wings (xD) with the wing tip, flat, and the drumlet. By other wing restaurant standards, that's 6 wings and then some. I've been here twice, and an additional time when I popped in to grab a menu real fast because I was curious about the hype. Each time, the people up front were super friendly and polite. They were super super helpful answering all my questions, and I never felt rushed or sassed like I do at some other places. They were nice about letting me know the wait time, and offered a cup of water if I wanted it. I'll admit. It's very easy for me to gripe about customer service and try to find flaws, but I'm just so blown away by the professionalism here, and that's not something I can say often. Their teamwork appears to be spot on as well from what I could see--it's hard to see a well oiled machine like that and I'd like to send a shout out to the staff for their consistent hard work and customer service so keep up the great job y'all!
