Two stars because the nails themselves looked fantastic when they were complete and the full set was reasonably-priced I'm sad to say, that lasted about 4 days. They started lifting in the corners almost immediately. She didn't do any of the pre-application prep work that I'm accustomed to receiving; clipping my real nails down first, pushing my (huge and unattended) cuticles back, checking the white tips to fit on my fingertips before applying them with glue. I have gigantic hands. The tips could have probably been a bit wider and not have made my hands look like I'm some ridiculous giant woman trying to wear normal-sized person nails. I'm sorry, but I don't believe I'll be returning. read more

I've been noticing this place as I drive down Franklin Blvd into the Elk Grove area from South Sac. I always notice their sign on the side of the road: "spa pedicure $17.99, manicure $8.00,...." and it also lists the price of a full set but I don't remember. I thought it was pretty sketchy because of the price, but I decided to give it a shot. I figured that if it's a bad experience, it'd only be the cheapest pedicure ever and I'd never go back. But if it was great, then it was the greatest and cheapest pedicure ever! Besides the dental office, CM Nails was the only other retailer in the new area. So it was pretty much empty when I walked in. I was surprised though to see that it was actually a nice place. It was decorated so that you feel like a greek goddess with the colors of the walls and decor. I was disappointed however to see that they did not carry OPI nail polish, and that is the only kind I have ever used. I was ready to walk out, but I was giving the place a try so I chose from their assortment of China Glaze nail polish (which I do see in other salons, but they're also next to the OPI nail polish). So I get my nails done and she takes great care to clean my feet and toes. She actually inspects my foot and makes it seem like she's really into giving me a pedicure rather than just going through the motions (if that makes sense). I was quite impressed. Jennifer had done my nails, and she totally gives your feet 110% of her attention. After it was done, she rang me up for my awesome $18 pedicure. It's four days later, and my toes look as if they were just done today. No chips and it's still shiny! I'd definitely go back and take advantage of their great prices! read more

Ok...so I made the appointment and came back today with my friends to get everything done. Altogether we got 3 manicures and 1 pedicure. Everything turned out pretty good. My three girls loved the the mani's and pedi's and the place was clean. Pros: They were nice about us being late. (15 minutes) Clean and friendly atmosphere. Cons: I took off 1 star because i felt like my manicure was a bit sloppy and felt rushed b/c there were other customers waiting to get their mani's. Also b/c I noticed that they wash their supplies in the sink with hand soap and don't sanitize it with anything else. At least not that I saw. I took off another star b/c of the price. When I made the appointment, the man told me that it would be $8 for the manicures and $18 for the pedi. When I paid for everything though, they charged me $13 per manicure. When I asked them why it went up they told me that it was b/c we had extra done. My friend and I both got an American tip done to our nails. I told my manicurist that I just wanted my nails to be painted red but she was the one who suggested that I get an American tip, never telling me that it would be extra. But whatever, so they charged us $13 for that and also $13 for my other friend who just got a regular manicure. I'm not cheap. And $13 for a manicure is a really good price. It's just that if they said that it was $8 for the manicure, then it should have been $8. I made it clear when I made the appointment that it was just for the regular manicure. If they were going to do more, then they should of at least let me know beforehand. Again, the manicure was pretty decent. But I probably won't be going back again b/c of how they handled the situation. read more

Decent nails for price. The picture is my gel manicure (color 122) after a few days. The quality of their work isn't bad but this isn't the place to go for a relaxing experience....the male did my manicure on my lap while I got a pedicure. It was awkward trying to balance a cup of water and a UV light dryer on a pillow. Especially cause it was middle of the day during the week so I don't know why they felt like they needed to rush me out of there. I would go back if I needed my nails done. I would not go back if I wanted a relaxing spa like experience. read more

I have been to this place about 5 times. Normally I was pleased with my service. But when I got a pedicure today, my experience was less than favorable. I sat down for my pedicure and was wearing running shorts. When the male owner (I presume) began my pedicure, a woman, presumably his wife, came over to me and put a towel over my legs to cover them. I was HIGHLY offended by this. I was not wearing something inappropriate, nor was any part of my body exposed. I felt like this was very insulting and violating. Needless to say, I won't be returning to this shop. And up until today, I was satisfied. read more

Don't go to CM nails. Lee is the worse manicurist I have ever had! I went to CM Nails because it was convenient at the time. It was a horrible choice! I was seen by Lee. He did a fine regular pedicure in terms of the look of the polish. The actual pedicure sucked, he gave a short bad massage, left oil all over my legs, and hurt my heels while he scrubbed my feet. My manicure turned out terrible. I asked for gel nails (I thought I would be getting gelish nail polish) and much to my surprise I ended up getting a full set. That would have been fine (although it's not what I wanted) except he screwed them up completely. At first he applied the glitter in the tips of the nail as just glitter. He must have thought something was wrong with that because after doing one he mixed the glitter with regular fill, which made the rest of the nails a lighter color and now I have one dark nail (see photo). After he was done buffing the nails all out one of the nails glitter color was all gone so I asked him to add more, which he did. But he never buffed that nail out again, so now one of the nails is globby, thicker, and shaped different from the rest (see photo). When he filled with the glitter he wasn't careful about where he put it and there are smears of it all over the regular nail bed and on my skin, not just in the tips, which won't come off. After realizing he wasn't going to correct it I started pointing it out but he couldn't fix it all. At that point I gave up and just let him finish and I left. Looking at my nails now I am so unhappy. One tip is glued on crooked, they are all filed in different shapes, I left with a mess of gel all over my fingers that I have been trying to pick off, my nails are all different thicknesses, and there is an indent in one where he didn't fill it with enough gel. Lee told me during the manicure that he has been doing nails for years, but looking at his work it seems like he has never done a full set before. The cost for my gel manicure, (basic) pedicure, and some toss flip flops was $65. I wish I had that all back!!! I am getting my nails redone somewhere else first thing. read more

"You get what you pay for" definitely applies here. Manicures are $8, which is cheaper than most places who charge at least $12+. This is obviously a steal, so I got a French manicure, and I ended up paying $13 + tip. I should've just paid more to go somewhere else -___- My manicure chipped in ONE DAY! Are you kidding me?? I was going to be out of town for two days for interviews, so you can see why I would be upset that I had to bring polish with me to completely re-do my nails a day after getting them done GRRR! The only reason I gave this place two stars is because the place is pretty big, clean, and the person doing my nails gave me a pretty good hand massage. But if you want a lasting, quality manicure, you might want to dig deeper in that wallet of yours and go elsewhere. read more

I got a gift certificate for this place and so I went in with Nick one day.. It's a fairly new asian family-owned shop in a fairly new plaza. There was a married couple, their daughter and another woman working. Nick was worried he'd sit there and feel uncomfortable as everyone spoke another language but he wasn't. The daughter, Jennifer, did my nails and did an exceptional job and was a pleasure to talk to. She even gave us a tip on making a good burger and we tried it-- loved it! Nick had the other lady do his nails and she was very quiet but did a great job on his nails. It was his first time and thankfully it went well so he's open to doing it again with me! I asked Jennifer what the CM stood for and she told me it was her parent's initials.. Cute. I'll definitely return.. read more

ok, I usually go to Tracy Nails (have for 7 years). Today, my regular gal had a day off and I had a nail emergency. Needed a full set. I had thought about going to CM Nails to give it a try - because I feel like my regular gal is getting too complacent. I'm glad I waited to go there because apparently CM Nails was not the place to go. WAS being the definitive term. Here's my experience: Beautiful place. All new equipment. all new massage/pedi chairs. Gorgeous sink station. nail scrubs were in a sanitizing jar (unlike at Tracy Nails). No paper towels - only real hand towels that you throw into a basket when you're done. I was very pleased with the results. I got the best job I've had in a long time. Great shape, Great polish. Very pleasantly surprised. The salon is large and I was the only one there other than one other woman getting a pedicure. When I checked out, I asked about the salon and how long it had been around. She told me it had been around for 8 years, but under new ownership for 3 months. Looks like the word hasn't gotten out about the new owners and the new make-over. I am going to see how well my nails hold up (I usually have them done every 2 weeks). I expect they'll do just fine. I'm also going to go back tomorrow to have a pedicure and 20 minute foot massage. read more

I've been trying different places for the past couple years around Sac and Elk grove.. I've been to this place before and always end up coming back.. I like getting a french pedi done.. at other places I normally have to ask them to fix the tips bc they look sloppy.. but this place they paint it on and then fix it.. I also like that they don't make it super pink and fake looking.. plus they dont chip quickly like other places! read more

Although the inside of the business is not clean and modern looking, I go here pretty often just because they give me good service. They are very friendly! If you want a good job done on your nails you have to be willing to critique and tell them how you want it, do not just watch. I always tell them how I want it done and my nails always come out beautiful! read more

I have been to CM Nails a few times and Jennifer is THE best! I love that she gives her clients a box containing pedicure tools for that specific client only! The shop is spotless and decorated differently than your average nail salon, much nicer. I recommended the salon to my sister and she loved everything about Jennifer and the salon too. I have probably been to a dozen different salons over the past several years, this one is by far the best. This family owned and operated business is both friendly and professional. I was up in elk grove visiting my boyfriends parents for the holidays and decided to get a mani and pedi. i had been looking on yelp to see which nail salons had the best review up there and i saw this place. i actually really liked it there. i got a spa pedi and mani for $48 total. jennifer was great! for the spa pedi and mani i got the hot rock treatment and parafin treatment so in my books that's pretty good! and since it was xmas time i thought i would go all out =P unfortunately i suck at keeping my mani on since i wash my hands way too much (may be a lil OCD-ish) so right now its already chipping (i had this done on 12/24). my pedi still looks awesome tho! The place was really clean too. they take apart the pedi stuff to clean it. she was saying that she has to have it clean since she sticks her hands in the water too so watever someone has on their feet, she could get on her hands (good point). i will definately go back next time i'm in town. oh and the 1 star deduction is for OPI nail polish. i really like that brand but CM did have a wide variety of colors to choose from. read more

I went in for a basic manicure - $8. You can't beat that price. I brought my own polish just because I feel like sometimes polish provided at salons isn't up to par. It was a decent manicure for $8. The part that I didn't like was that when I tried to pay with my debit card they said they could only take debit/credit for totals over $10. I didn't have any of cash with me so I asked if they could charge me $8 for the manicure and $2 as a tip making the total $10. They said no that the tip was separate and then looked at me like they wanted me to solve the problem for them. So I reluctantly told them just to charge me $10 for my $8 manicure. i got a full set of gel nails for my cruise. The Gel nails were slightly more money then the regular fake nails, but stronger also so worth the money. Lee did a great job on my nails. I got the nails done on 4/23/12. I went on my cruise swan in the ocean, did dishes, and typed with them. Today is 5/10/12 the nails still look good no lifting. I did need a polish change on the ship, but I expected that. Going back to get them filled. My nails grow quick. It is true Lee asked for the money before my nails dried, not a big deal to me, but I could see how that might bug other people. I want to say the full set cost $22 or so. But I can't quite remember so don't quote me on that. read more

So I went there today to get a mani and pedi I always saw them behind where I work and my usual place was booked so I thought why not I went in and asked how much are their manis and they told me $8 I told them what I wanted and they said ok it's $8 I wanted this ombré red and black and they told me its $18 for a pedicure that's more expensive than my usual place I usually get it done for $15 and it comes with a hot towel but this place didn't even do the hot towel around my legs I said whatever cause today was my only day off they told me it would be $26 for both so I agreed whatever but what I paid was actually $31 and they did a crappy job on my toes and my nails my nails weren't even completely dry so they chipped and they cut my nails down so short my sister was with me and she got so mad that they did that because they messed up on my nails and my toenails and they overcharged without even telling me they said it was because I got a design? How is ombré a design when u messed up and made it look like its 2 colors never ever going to this place ever again my nails look like shit I was over charged and that guy who did my nails was rude af next time I'm just waiting for my usual place or I'll just do them myself it's better than going to this place I've been to so many places nothing is worse than this place. I don't even know how this place even has 3 stars. I thought the man that did my nails did a fine job until I went home and 3 hours later my thumb nail had cracks. Fiberglass is not suppose to crack, yet here were nails getting ruined. It wasn't just one, all of them started to crack and peel. I have never had my nails crack before and even my friends were shocked when they saw the mess. The next day I went back and told him to redo them. He said it will be 5 dollars to change the colors and 8 dollars to do tips. Ridiculous! I told him fine do the french tips because I had no other choice. He did a okay job on the tips. After he finished and my nails dried, they wanted to charge me. Two things came to mind, I paid you extra for designs and gel coat during my first visit and this time there is neither, I am not going to waste more money here. DO NOT waste your time and definitely not your money at a place that doesn't know what they are doing. Pay a little more and get better service elsewhere. read more
