I got three quotes, Robert's was the most reasonable. Due to furnace availability, it was hard to get the furnace we had agreed on. Instead of waiting months for that furnace, Robert identified one that was nearly the same but a little bit more expensive but could be installed sooner. He even gave me a discount on the more expensive furnace! When installing, he promptly met his schedule, did the work himself and even went the extra mile while he was installing the condensate line under my house. He discovered a plumbing drain line broken strap and repaired it while he was under there. Amazing! I'd use him again in a heart beat. My sense is that he has so few reviews b/c he's a one man show. We decided it was time to replace our 30-year-old gas furnace. Robert responded promptly to our quote request and came to our house the same day, despite being busy with other work. He did a great job of explaining our options, and the pros and cons of each. We decided to go with a high-efficiency, two-stage furnace with a large media filter. Robert helped get our heater serviced. He noticed the motor was starting to make some noise which was a sign that it didnt have much life left. Rather than create a second service call next year we decided it was best to get it changed out now. One less headache to have to worry about next winter. Aside from the heater Robert also repaired our down draft that hasnt been working properly. After the part was ordered he was able to get the downdraft functional again in literally 5 minutes of time. I would recommend Robert for a majority of home appliance repairs or new service. Shout out to Coastal Appliance Repair and Heating! Doing business above and beyond. Spent a some time installing and troubleshooting a new smart thermostat. Thermostat wouldn't power up but fan/heat were working. Frustrated...I call Coastal Appliance to schedule an appointment. Told Robert my issues. Walked him through how the old furnace/thermostat were connected and he gave me some things to try. If they didn't work, he said to call him back. It worked! Robert didn't have to take time to help me troubleshoot. He could have made a quick buck. Awesome customer service and I wasn't one...but will be should I need heating repairs. My furnace wouldn't ignite in October and Robert was able to fit us in based on another cancellation. This guy is a furnace wizard, extremely good to work with, and extremely fair. Due to the age of our furnace, he had to replace and slightly modify the igniter to work with our furnace. He followed up several times to make sure things were working properly. about 6 weeks later the same thing started happening again. Robert stopped by that day and had us back in action in about 15-20 minutes. All he had to do was change out a small gas orifice on the igniter he previously replaced. He didn't even charge me for this visit. He's the best in my opinion. read more

Our 10 year old refrigerator stopped cooling and we assumed it would be prohibitively expensive to repair. Just in case we called Coastside Technical initially (we've had success with them before), but apparently they are currently without a residential refrigerator repair person! Fortunately they referred us to Robert at Coastside Appliance. Robert answered the phone right away, was willing to discuss the possibilities, and suggested it might be the starter (a relatively inexpensive fix) rather than the compressor. He was busy but scheduled an appointment for three days later. Later that afternoon he called to say he had finished an appointment early and could squeeze us in! 20 minutes later the refrigerator was running! And we thought the fee was more than reasonable! We really appreciated Robert's promptness, communication, willingness to discuss alternatives (fix or replace), and successful resolution to our problem. Coastside Appliance was fantastic! My furnace shut down and I was unable to fire it back up with basic troubleshooting. Robert was able to come out within a couple days, and fortunately he could start early in the morning so I didn't have to miss work. He was prompt, and solved the problem very quickly. Although the cause of the malfunction wasn't obvious, Robert got it working and then cleaned the entire system as preventive maintenance. He was quick, very knowledgeable, and the charge was fair. I wish I could give Rob 6 stars , I had a problem with my furnace it kept trying to start up but would cut out , I tried many things but could not get it going , I called Rob about 5pm and left a message and asked if he could call me back tommorow . Well Rob called me back at 5:30 the same night and tried to trouble shoot the problem over the phone it didn't work out , Rob put me on a back up list and said if he had a change in his schedule he would call me , the next day he called I was home so he came over and fixed the problem , he also said the Furnace is very old and that I should start to think about a replacement next spring or fall , then we could review the situation and go from there , I feel Rob is a very honest man and is very sincere person .
