This place is a gem. Simply amazing. Understated fine dining. Authentic recipes and fusion of Asian and Indian cuisine. Cute aesthetic and vibe, nothing overstated and truly lets the "food do the talking." There wasn't a single thing we ate that wasn't delicious-- no wonder the Michelin star. Service was amazing too-- our server guided us through the highlights of the menu and make sure we didn't miss a thing. Will definitely be back-- what a special evening.

This place is so cute with all the inside decor & busy. We ordered different dishes to try a variety. The Curry Puffs have curried split peas & potatoes inside and are well filled inside. The Pork Dumplings with the sauce are a great combo & I loved the different textures. The Crispy Pork Belly Salad had the best pork belly pieces, I couldn't get enough of it. I love a Butter chicken curry and this one just hit the spot. The Beef Short Rib was one of my favorite dishes of the night. For dessert we ordered the Thai Tea Pudding which had strong Thai tea flavor, but the boba wasn't as hot & soft on top- I think it would have been great even just as the Thai tea pudding part. Cobi's hits all the marks; ambience, service, food, and drinks! Came in on a Monday evening and sat in the garden which was so relaxing and beautiful. Our server Alberto was amazing and suggested so many good dishes! There was not one thing we ordered that we did not love but our favorites were the butter chicken, dry aged branzino, short ribs, and oxtail. Oh and another great suggestion by Alberto was the moon light margarita, I had several lol. The manager Smith came by to check on our table to ask how everything was tasting which was very nice! Overall, 100/10. Staff were all friendly and helpful, the ambience was unique and eclectic, and food was to die for. I can't wait to be back!

Wow!! Such a hidden gem! Tucked in a busy corner in Santa Monica, but you'd be surprised at how beautiful this restaurant is. It reminds me of an enchanted garden. The food also lives up to its hype. Ordered the crispy pork belly salad, devil chicken curry, and dry aged branzino. Also ordered the Thai tea pudding for dessert. The curry and branzino were definitely my top 2. The curry was full of flavor and had the perfect spice. The fish was also so crispy and delicious. If you haven't done so already, definitely try this restaurant. I am definitely coming back!

Goddamn. This place is amazing. Brought girlfriend here on a valentine's date. Staff was extremely friendly, and waitress was very good. Ambiance was even better. Extremely cute, green, and well decorated. Price was extremely reasonable- spent around $230 (including tip) for all the below + a drink. Let's get into the food. Appetizers: Pork Dumplings - 8/10 (GF rating 8/10) These were great. The inside was solid, outside was acceptable, and crunch on top was great. The sauce absolutely made it. Quite a good choice. Curry Puffs - 9.5/10 (GF rating 10/10) Delicious. You won't regret getting these. Pastry outside is amazing, inside is even better, tamarind makes it EVEN better. Just keeps getting better. Get them. Chicken Larb - 9/10 (GF rating 7.5/10) Very tasty. The sauce it's in is amazing and the flavor profile is just great. Highly recommend. Crispy Pork Belly Salad - 8/10 (GF rating 9/10) Also very good. The flavors all fit together extremely well. I'm not a fan of pork belly but this was done great. Main: Beef short rib - 10/10 (GF rating 10/10) Holy shit. We were so full at this point, it was unfortunate we couldn't finish this, because it was so good. Most tender beef I have ever had. I went at it with a fork, expecting to have a tiny bit of give, but it just fell off the bone, effortlessly. Easier than gliding through softened butter. I also normally don't like fatty pieces due to the texture/chewiness, and was worried I wouldn't like this dish as short rib is quite fatty. I absolutely LOVED the fat on this. It was impeccably rendered. Genuinely the best beef short rib I have ever had. The sauce and cilantro + peanuts it was paired with was a perfect flavor combination as well. Came with a delicious bread as well (naan-esque?) Dessert: Underwhelming, unfortunately. Got all 3. Thai Tea Pudding - 6/10 (GF rating 2/10) Pudding underneath was decent. Boba on top with the sauce was not. Boba not marinated in honey, just chewy bland boba! The custard itself was also not very reminiscent of Thai tea. Vanilla Soft Serve Sundae - 6/10 (GF rating- 5/10) Vanilla ice cream itself was very good. The salted caramel, not particularly, nor the Milo brownie on top of it, and the peanuts didn't pair well with it either. Very mid. Strawberry Basil Shaved Ice - 2/10 (GF rating 7.8/10) GF LOVED THIS. Of all the desserts here, she thought this was the best. I just didn't like this one a single bit. The shaved ice on top was fine but it was a very thin layer and was more about what was underneath (passionfruit pieces, tapioca-like balls, and coconut), which just wasn't it for me.

Great service and great food all tucked away in a place that feels intimate and private and casual at the same time. Loved the indoor outdoor courtyard and everything we ordered tasted amazing. The devil chicken comes with a habenero vinegar that packs a punch and goes so well. Unique beers available as well. You won't be disappointed coming here

butter chicken ($22) - ive had butter chicken before but this instantly became the best ive eer devoured - the portion size was already a winning factor; i didn't expect the bowl to be so humongous - chicken texture was the most impressive part; the juice and tenderness retention went crazy - it was also so bouncy; every bite got a good chew to it; none of the pieces were tough; perfect execution - sauce was top tier; all the other sauces ive had from other restaurants were too heavy and salty, but this one had the right amount of flavor and aroma, i didnt need much rice to pair with it - I thought id have leftovers but i licked it CLEAN beef rendang ($28) - had beef rendang multiple times and i was never that impressed so i didnt get this but had a bite of my friend's - my butter chicken is WAY MORE BUSSIN indeed - sauce was pretty good but the meat tenderness just wasnt quite at the sweet spot kampachi ($18) - so fresh it was like a combo of chewiness with a slight crunch; if youve had poke in hawaii, it's almost similar to that fresh fish texture - impressive sauce; never had something similar to that; usually these types of dishes are just sour n refreshing but this had more layers of flavor that had me licking the plate; it felt like some sort of cream but still super light n refreshing - Would recommend roti ($5) - needed some carbs for all the sauce - had better roti and this was pretty average; nothing stood out - would rather have the rice because the roti texture was softer than i liked and not crispy enough rating: 4.7/5 - It's such a cute lowkey spot next to the ocean; feels like a hidden gem within the residential, quiet part of santa monica - Date night, classy vibes but can also feel casual with the chill ocean breeze if you sit outside - Everything tasted yummay and it's kind of a rare find to see malaysian & indonesian food in west la so yay - Great and welcoming service; doesnt feel pretentious given it's santa monica and that they were on the michelin guide IG: @nom.noms.only

Cute vibe inside! Had a reservation right when it opened at 5pm. Butter chicken, roti, and nasi goreng is yummy! Beef rendang is a little oily for me. Dumplings are expensive for what you get, not amazing flavor on those tbh. Service is friendly and quick, especially to fill water!! Metered parking outside

I've dined here twice in a very short time frame - it's that good. Non-negotiable for me are the curry puffs ($14 for 2pcs). They're puffed pastries filled with curried split peas & potatoes served with a pickled onion tamarind ketchup. Absolute fire. The pastry puff is so buttery and fluffy and the curried split pea + potato filling is so satisfyingly filling. Also on that list are grilled prawns ($21 for 3 pcs). They are marinated in a ginger & yellow bean sauce that really enhances the sweetness of the prawns. The best part is probably the head, but of course that's not for everyone. Delish. We've dabbled all over and tried a ton of their entrees, but I keep going back to the beef rendang ($28). The beef is so tender and flavorful. Even without a ton of sauce, it's so good over the bed of rice. Highly recommend. You should also order the chili & sambal sampler ($7). It's such a good compliment to any of the dishes you happen to order. They're also fun eaten on a prawn chip as well. The patio gives secret garden which is so cute. They also do offer tasting situation so it's a great way to sample their menu - I've never met a dish I didn't love at Cobi's.

It's no wonder this place is on the Michelin guide. The staff is super well trained /attentive / helpful and the dishes are incredible. Only piece of data to note is that it's very lively:) So just be prepared to use your outdoor voice :) ordered short ribs, curry puffs, papaya salad ice cream Sunday butter chicken....you can't go wrong here. This was one of the best meals I've had this year. So glad I found it. Thank you Cobi's!

Cobi's is a beautiful restaurant with pan-Asian cuisine that definitely lives up to the hype. Upon walking in, it felt like I was entering into a secret fairy garden turned upscale, trendy restaurant. The decor is charming, feminine, and whimsical. I arrived a couple minutes earlier than my reservation time and was seated right away. Our server was friendly, gave an explanation of the menu, and checked in consistently to make sure we were taken care of. To start I had the papaya salad and the pork dumplings. I loved the papaya salad as it was tangy, spicy, and lightly sweet. The pork dumplings were standard dumplings that were elevated with the texture of crispy shallots on top. I got the African curry with roti as my main dish, which was insanely rich. I enjoyed the roasted peanut flavor combined with the African spices. However, I did struggle to even eat half of the curry due to its decadence. The roti was buttery, flakey, and a great pairing with the curry. I tried a bite of my friend's beef rendang and it was tender and packed with flavor. For drinks, I had the lychee blossom and the sour cherry fizz. Both were creative and delicious cocktails.

I finally made it to Cobi's, and it's every bit as delicious and aesthetic as people say! The Service: I was really impressed by how attentive the staff was. Despite being a popular spot, the service was seamless and the food came out incredibly quick without feeling rushed. The Food: We started with the Kampachi, and that coconut drizzle is so good and fresh. The Pork Dumplings were another highlight; the crispy onions add such a satisfying texture. For the mains, the Beef Rendang is a must-order. It's marinated in sambal and is the ultimate comfort food when paired with the curry dip and a side of buttery roti. However, the too bite of the entire evening was definitely the Beef Short Ribs. They literally fell off the bone--you don't even need a knife! The sweet chili and tamarind dressing is perfectly balanced. We also loved the Nasi Goreng, which was packed with flavor. The Dessert: My husband, who usually doesn't even like dessert, loved the Thai Tea Pudding. While the pudding itself was delicious and full of flavor, the boba left a little to be desired for me personally.

My partner and I came by with our dog on Sunday for this outdoor brunch. The little Patio is very cute and quiet. We didn't have reservation so it took about 20 mins for us to get seated. The menu is fairly small which I like. I'm always a big fan of non traditional brunch food. We shared the fried chicken, rice noodle and the roti wraps. All were good except just somewhat too salty for my taste. Overall we enjoyed the food and would love to come back to try their dinner menu.

Pros: + Good service + Clean place + Lots of vegetarian and vegan options + The Thai Fried Chicken was delicious and balanced! + Food presentation was excellent Cons: - Food was dry. - The Endive Cups were dense and needed some sauce. - The Mung Bean Croquette - although not bad - felt more like a fast food item; it too was dry and although the sauce and presentation were nice, it's not something to re-order. - The Meang Kham wasn't bad either, I appreciated the different flavors but for the price - as an appetizer - no. - The biggest negative were the prices. They were set as upscale, and fine dining, but the place was just average and the foods - at least what we ordered - not that good. Granted there were many options and the others might have been better, but I get the feeling this place is more about the food presentation rather than the quality of the food focused. For ~$100 (3 appetizers and 1 main entree) I left somewhat hungry. I feel there are hole-in-the wall vegan/vegetarian places that would be much better. It's a nice place but it's more show than substance (given the costs). 3.5/5

Crispy, flavorful, and coated in a Southern Thai curry sauce I hadn't experienced before. Rich, slightly sweet, with a depth that kept me going back for "just one more." For the main, I took the server's recommendation and ordered the Thai beef salad to balance things out. Smart call. The dressing leaned creamier than what I usually expect, but it worked. Bright, flavorful, and layered. I'll be honest, I couldn't quite finish it, but the beef didn't stand a chance. Every last bite. Dessert sealed the deal. The mango sticky rice, now famously known as the Cardi B Mango Sticky Rice, lived up to the hype. Perfectly ripe mango, warm sticky rice, and that coconut sauce tying it all together. Simple, classic, and done right. The space itself tells a story. Walls lined with photos of the owner alongside celebrities from all over. But what stood out more than the photos was the man himself. He made his way around the room, greeting guests, checking in, bringing real warmth to the experience. No hierarchy, no pretense. Everyone gets treated like they belong. Twenty-six years in and I'm just now discovering this place? Better late than never. Next time, I'm bringing a group and ordering everything family style. That's the move.

Long story short, pricey for very little portions and Thai food that doesn't impress :/…read more Seeing all the celebrity pics, my friends thought we'd give it a try but were underwhelmed by the portion of the food we got for the prices they charge. Everything tasted fine, but not as flavorful or 'seasoned' as how other Thai restaurants are. We recommend their traditional Pad Thai, as well as trying their Spicy Eggplant. I don't recommend the Massaman Curry as it didn't have much curry flavor and the coconut milk they put in basically overpowered the entire dish. Service was good, and ambiance was a modern minimal take. Street parking. If I were to recommend Thai food, I'd probably recommend driving more west towards the San Gabriel Valley area.

Asked for it to be made like they do in Thailand which is typically a square. It came out round like a roti canai. They are reheating precooked roti and not stretching it fresh like they do in the video. And considering they are only reheating, it shouldn't have taken nearly 30 mins to get my 1 roti. Stood by the stand waiting just to discover they had been filing content with an influencer and making their 4/5 orders before actually making ordering for their paying customers. They also place the roti on a counter they wiped with a dirty towel sitting in its own oil before serving it to you. Actual roti itself isn't that good. It's cooked in oil instead of butter. And it's the same oil they've been using all day. You can taste the used oil. Super disappointing.

They offer a variety of coffees, milk teas, and other beverages. We sat outside on the patio. The seating area on the patio is also small and limited. In a span of two hours on a Sunday evening, I watched several to-go orders leave the kitchen. My friend ordered the veggie rolls, I didn't try them. I had the moo ping (Thai street food pork skewers ) and those were fantastic! You can almost have this as a meal. I didn't finish all the rice but would have been full if I had. I also got the pad kee mow chicken. I asked for this to be mildy spiced. My meal was brought to the table just minutes after I ordered. The portion on the pad kee mow is abundant. Everything was well seasoned, flavorful and authentic. The price point is fair, too. I'd love to return and try some soups on a future visit.

It is charming and small with both indoor and outdoor seating. This whole corridor is so charming and neighborhood friendly. The café itself was bright, chic, and cozy. We ordered the veggie rolls and the royal shrimp as our appetizers. They have a pretty extensive drink menu for a Thai restaurant, so I ordered the lychee milk tea and my friend ordered the house Thai iced tea. I got the Creamy Tom Kha Chicken Noodle soup with a side of brown rice, my friend ordered the Yellow Curry, and my other friend ordered the Soft Shell Crab Curry. Everything tasted really good. Nothing was too spicy, especially my dish -which I asked to be medium spicy- and my friend who can't do spicy foods was able to eat it too. The pricing was commensurate with the quality, locale, and atmosphere. I'm knocking off one star because it took a long time for someone to take our orders. I think they were waiting until our entire table was seated, but they could have at least taken our drink and appetizer orders while we waited for our third person to join us. But after that initial hiccup, Service was friendly and attentive. Would definitely come here again if we are in the area!
