Food was very good. it truly irks me to pay $2.75 for a soda when it costs the restaurant only pennies... seems greedy, but all the restaurants are doing the same. i do recommend Coco Shrimp but if you dont like shrimp, dont go there because that's all they have.... 5 diff versions. my total bill for the Sampler Box and a soda was $16.71. Only 5 med. shrimp but lots of rice and salad. I liked it a lot but cant afford to go very often. i dont think that the owners are being greedy because i know that their expenses are high. As long as people can afford it, i think the restaurant will succeed. almost $20 for 5 shrimp and and rice is more than i can afford. Usually a pricey menu is justified by service, decor, menu choices, and overall ambience. Coco shrimp scores very low on all those points. it does appear very clean, a big plus but the super casual atmosphere seems like an oxymoron with 5 star prices and little to justify it. it is help yourself drinks, no table service, and even bus your own table. If you haven't tried Coco Shrimp in the Historic Southside of Ft. Worth you are missing out! A quaint little place tucked a block back off of S. Main Street but once you step inside you feel like you are beachside in Hawaii. The food is amazing - shrimp in several different styles. The signature Coco Shrimp has a light coconut coating that gives it a sweet taste and is accompanied with a sweet and spicy dipping sauce that has just a hint of orange. The lemon herb and garlic butter shrimp are sautéed with a light butter sauce. The garlic butter has just the perfect amount of garlic taste while the lemon herb comes with a lemon slice so you can make it as stout as you want with fresh squeezed juice. The menu is rounded out with the spicy flavors. First is the Sweet and Spicy Shrimp which is the signature coconut coated shrimp with a drizzle of a spicy sauce. Lastly is the Spicy Shrimp which is, again, sautéed and dredged in the spicy sauce. Each shrimp plate comes on a bed of delicious white rice with just a hint of the garlic butter sauce to it. Additionally, you get a small side salad with your choice of a sweet poppy seed dressing or a ginger dressing. Each plate is served up in a box that just completes the Hawaiian beach feel. Because you are in Texas you are required to have tacos on your menu - and Coco Shrimp does not disappoint. A flour tortilla, slightly toasted, then filled with the seasoned rice, signature Coco shrimp and green leafy lettuce. Each taco is topped with a light drizzle of the poppy seed dressing and a lime slice. Overall, Coco Shrimp has become one of our favorite go-to places when we are wanting something fresh on a hot Texas summer day. This place started as a food truck which is still in business in the far north part of Ft. Worth. They branched our recently to open their first brick and mortar location here in the revitalized Southside. I highly recommend this place. Price point is excellent for the quality of food you are going to get. You will probably have to wait during peak times because it is a small location with limited seating and a small patio area, but it's well worth the wait (indoor seating is even more limited right now because of COVID). read more

I'm unashamed to say that I'm a weekly patron of Coco Shrimp, but I've been disappointed in the inconsistency of the Coco Tacos as of late. Up until July, I've always received at least 3 shrimp in my tacos, but that has changed in all except one of my recent orders. Today, I introduced two family members to the magical tacos, but two of their 4 to-go orders were left out of the bag and I had to speak with a staff member to inform them of the missing orders then show verification via the sticker on the first to-go bag. I waited for the additional orders and ensured they were correct. As my family members and I ate our meals at home, we realized that we only received 2 shrimp and a little rice on each of the 7 tacos. The Coco Tacos are a delicious treat; however, for the price, I expect a better, more consistent composition of the meal. I'll visit again, and I hope for an improved experience next time. read more
