My wife and I went here for the first time. It wasn't packed as we expected, even though it was a Friday evening. I think maybe because it was rather overcast and windy, and boy was it cold up there! Make sure you bring extra jackets just in case. The place is really nice. The view is not as nice as I thought it'd be, only because you are looking at endless rooftops more than you are looking at the ocean, but it's still really nice. All the seating is ocean facing. If it's too windy, sit on the far right, where the railing (?) is made of glass and the wind gets blocked. We had a few drinks, and I have to say they were very generous with the hard alcohol in their mixed drinks. Their mixed drinks were strong, and not sickingly sweet at all. The Caribe Welcome drink was awesome! It came in a real coconut, full of young coconut meat! It even had an orchid flower inside, which I ate. I thought the prices overall were reasonable too, for the location and type of establishment. We had a wild mushroom appetizer, which was really good, though it was strange that there was a raw egg yolk on top, and the food wasn't hot enough to cook it at all. But it was still really good. The service was really good and we experienced none of the issues others here are complaining about. All their drinks are served in plastic cups/glasses, which was a big turn off. Who wants to drink a fancy mixed drink or a nice glass of wine in plasticware? Felt like I was drinking alcohol at a kiddy party. The only thing that caught me off guard was the crowd. I expected the crowd to be a bit more upscale. Most of the men there looked like scruffy truck drivers that just finished their shift, with wives in tow. I don't mean to judge, but it detracted from the ambiance. We definitely will come back. read more

The views, music, and service are topnotch. So, if you want a 5 star experience come for a cocktail, sit back and take in the sites of Oceanside at sunset, and enjoy the music. The three stars is really because of the food - it is mediocre. We ordered a few small plates (they are really small for the price) to share - the charbroiled cauliflower was undercooked and seemed as though once grill marks were on the cauliflower steak that was the end of cooking it; the roasted wild mushrooms were just strange, under seasoned, and served with just two small pieces of baguette, the tenderloin skewers were decent with the meat cooked well but the potatoes undercooked. Also, since the tables are small and wicker futon tray is wobbly, it made cutting and balancing difficult. We ended up making a little bit of a mess as a result. I would go back for the ambiance and a drink, but skip the food - not worth the price. read more

Bummed to see the rough reviews because my friend and I really enjoyed our visit in October. Came by on a weekend afternoon and there were only a sprinkling of people there so we got the very cute premium seats. The vibe is definitely going for photo-worthy. I didn't even know they had food as we inly ordered drinks. Each drink we got was amazing. Strong enough, not just juice, and well balanced. Our waitress was super mice and gave me useful info on some particulars about my drink. Ive been anxious to come back so I hope things haven't taken a slide! read more

My wife and I went there for drinks and appetizers yesterday January 17, 2024. It was an experience that I could do without. Drinks were lame, plastic glasses were dirty. I bussed my own dishes, and the olives in my dirty martini were long past due the expiration date. Also, I dropped my napkin on the ground going to fetch my drinks and it seemed to be a bother that I asked for a fresh napkin. I retrieved it myself. There were 6 people while we were there and it took for ever for drinks and food. Overall the experience was lack luster and for $118.00 for three drinks, and two appetizers I expected more.... Sorry!** Ambience: Great Drinks: Really Good Staff: Okay (bartender attitudes dropped this a lot) Food: Ended up leaving early, so not sure Four of us were there in the afternoon for my friend's birthday. The hostess at the entrance of the hotel was nice and even though we didn't have reservations, there was standing room. Although we were told where NOT to stand by the hostess (which we stayed clear of), we were told 2 more times to move to another spot, definitely making sure we were good each time with the staff asking us to move. But, minutes after we we were told we were good, someone else asked us to move again. Fine... it's within a month of opening and maybe they're still figuring out logistics. The drinks were priced as expected for a bar tied to a hotel and about the same price as the other upscale places in town where you can get an amazing craft cocktail. I really liked the Swedish Bikini Team and Oside Rider cocktails. They also have a couple of my fave local breweries on tap which is so awesome for the community! Okay, on to the not-so-great. The 2 bartenders (both male) on staff were all smiles, but through those smiles came out very abrupt comments and condescending remarks. The one with the Havana-esque hat was extra spicy with the attitude and the other bartender wasn't much nicer. Maybe it was because it was a hot day and the bar was crowded? Nah... I've seen other bartenders handle worse scenarios and NOT get snippy with the customers (just because you smile when you say passive aggressive comments, doesn't make it any less aggressive and how dare you think we can't figure out that you're being rude). Even though a space cleared out at a standing table, we decided not to order food since we were put off by the bartenders. We headed to Frankie's next door since their staff is always always kind and their drinks are insanely good. This place seems trendy enough with great views. However, this group needs to get their act together. The drinks were mediocre, and the food was not prepared correctly. We had multiple dishes of raw prawns. It was very disgusting. Moreover, the service staff was overwhelmed and not prepared to handle a full house. People were running around constantly, and getting anyone's attention for help was a challenge. Give it some time - they will either find their stride or fold. read more

I've been here several times and the service is rapidly declining which is so sad. The first time we sat at the bar and the bartender took good care of us. It's a busy spot but we didn't feel overlooked. The last time was a different experience. Staff standing in groups in around their POS systems just chatting. No sense of urgency to provide service. We ended up leaving because we just couldn't get a drink. It wasn't busy either. It makes me sad for the establishment and the owners who clearly put time and money into this beautiful location. I walked away feeling robbed. I went there tonight with my husband and spent $150 for two people and we were starving after we left. We ordered 3 dishes and 2 drinks each which should've been plenty. The waitress forgot our drinks. Then they forgot the food that was ordered (ended up waiting 20-30 minutes past when other food was delivered). Then after eating our late delivered food, a hostess told us we had to leave quickly because other people needed the table. We went to another restaurant right after and ordered a meal because of how hungry we were. It's a new restaurant with a lot of issues to work out and I wish we hadn't spent so much money on such small food plates and drinks.
