The drinks were amazing!! I did ask for a drink and Rosa, our waitress, was able to have the bartender mix something up for me. The view from our seat was gorgeous! It overlooked the beach and pier, music was great, and the seating was amazing! Too hot during the day. I am a born and raised SoCal gal, so I love the heat, but I can not enjoy my food and company when I'm baking in the sun without some shade or a breeze. Currently they don't have fans or shade curtains, nor shade umbrellas or misters. The bar is shaded. But that's about it. Everywhere else is subject to the sun beating down on you. I really hope they install fans or shade curtains or misters or all of the above so I can return and enjoy their beautiful setup and delicious cocktails. For now, I recommended brunch early or evening hrs during the summer. Cocktails were good. The small plates are very small and a bit pricey ... but good. I recommended the cauliflower and wagyu skewers. read more

5 Stars for atmosphere and service. 3 stars rating for food and price point. Checked in with ground level hostess, who opened the locked hotel door and pointed to the elevator. Greeted nicely, headed to our table, Kailee was our efficient, pleasant server. Three smallish oysters for $18, nice, but huh? The Octopus Ceviche had unripe mango bits as the main ingredient, with barely a thimble of octopus. We left and went to eat the rest of our lunch at a neighboring restaurant. Food was whatever, we had to continuously ask about food or drinks we had ordered that were taking over 30 min to be served. the big kicker was the two female "investors" that decided cut past multiple men in line for the male restroom, which there was only one of, even though the female restroom was vacant. once they exited the male restroom, they picked fights with two random women in line who tried confronting them. after getting VERY close to two of the women's faces, threatened them, and got them kicked out because they're "investors". plain stupid. absolutely disgusting behavior from the "investors" of this bar for extremely slow service and mid vibe. i don't recommend anyone comes here. read more

I really wanted to give this place five stars because I'm a local n am so happy about the new establishments opening up, but it's honestly only good for its drinks.... The hostesses are great but the service and the food is a big thumbs down! I've been here twice now and every time the food is a HUGE disappointment and it extremely overpriced! Not to mention the servers are very touchy-feely, and seem to be intoxicated themselves! The prawn dish is $32 and you get two small pieces of shrimp TWO!! Everything is very flavorless, they need a lot of help in the kitchen. The drinks on the other hand are very good which is the only reason why I'm giving it two stars. Exactly what you'd expect. Expensive, pretty views, mediocre drinks, instagramable. Didn't hate, didn't love it. A basic gin and tonic was 14$ dollars, don't love that. Also, I was hoping that based on the theme they would have an awesome Caipirinha. No such luck. read more

The hostess was pleasant and able to accommodate a last minute addition to our reservation. We took the elevator up to the rooftop bar which has an outstanding view of downtown Oceanside. We were seated in a roomy corner booth that was comfortable and shaded from the sun. Our server was the main reasons I marked down on stars. She brought us waters and when my friend asked for a new one and pointed out the lipstick on the rim and something floating in the cup, she seemed quite perturbed to be bothered having to replace it. We ordered our first round of drinks and had to wait quite awhile for them to arrive. We saw them at the end of the bar ready and sweating before they were brought over. Luckily my guava mimosa was delicious. I also tried the Oside Rider and had a peach High Noon. Our unhappy server went on a break and luckily her replacement was a big upgrade. For food: 3 orders of wagyu skewers, 2 orders of clams (only 3 large clams per order), and two orders of cauliflower (SO GOOD). We were really happy we ordered bread to scoop up the chimichurri sauce the cauliflower came with. The food was pricey and small. The menu is limited but the inventive/fun drinks and amazing views could save this place. 3 of us shared the Havana A Good Time (not as strong as the other drinks we had and there was so much ice). My favorite drink was the Shanghai Sally which our server recommended. I might be back because of the ambience and the location. Drinks with an ocean view is hard to resist. read more

Came here on Halloween with my group of friends to check out the rooftop dj event, and discovered Amy and Griff. They are best bartending duo I've seen in years! So much fun and it was like a Vegas dueling piano in cowboy costumes themed show, very entertaining and fun! It's hard to find great service these days and I wanted to express how nice it was these bar magicians/industry vets made our night one of the best this year! read more

We went there for a birthday brunch! The place is quaint and adorable. The view is nice and the décor is clean and sheik. The food selection is minimal and the portions are small. All of our food did not come out together. There was only 3 of us. I know they are new so I'm sure that is just a learning curve. I really wanted to love this place. I've been anxiously awaiting their opening for awhile. But it was just too disappointing to overlook. The number 1 problem is that it is way too OVERPRICED for what you're getting. A group of 4 of us had "dinner" here recently. I put dinner in quotes because it was a complete joke. They have a small menu of only ten food items and advertise it as a tapas style restaurant. The problem is that each plate costs $20-$30 but isn't any bigger than a traditional tapas restaurant where all dishes would be well under $20. And before you ask, no they don't make up for it in the taste. They are average at best. We ordered six items between the 4 of us based on the severs recommendation but left hungry. We couldn't convince ourselves to spend $100 per person on mediocre food. And that's not counting drinks. So what about the drinks? Well, the margaritas we ordered were very watered down and the beer and wine menus are very limited. So I can't even recommend going here for just a drink. Service was ok. They were very busy and honestly let way too many people in for how small the place is. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt here since they only just opened up. The only reason I gave 2 stars and not 1 is because the view and the ambiance. They clearly put a lot of interior into the place. That's the only redeeming factor but not enough for a return visit. We won't be coming back for food or for drinks again sadly. read more

I really wanted to like this place since I had such a good experience at Coco Maya. There were only a few of us there, our waitress provided awful service. We sat on one of the larger chairs that fit 2, and they were extremely filthy and stained. Not much of a food selection, so we tried the skewers which were pretty good. I literally jumped on the chair bc it was running towards us. The staff seemed annoyed by us being so startled. I won't be returning for food. Griffin, the bartender, who works at the top of the bar. Has certain issues with customer service and homophobia. On our friend's birthday, we went out. We came here after the market and had the worst experience of our life. A group of friends and I were at the bar, and three different people were not served until they all spoke up. Myself, as the most feminine, was quickly catered to. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. He became enraged when my friend told him she was a local. He never asked, simply took her card and walked away. He didn't even give her a chance to say anything. I'm not sure what kind of clientele is fine with this behavior. The ambiance here is 10/10! Such a staple place for Oceanside. My friend and I ordered the wagyu skewers and duck confetti. We paired it with the thirst trap and Swedish bikini team. The Wagyu Skewers were delicious. Unfortunately we waited a little over an hour for the duck confetti and eventually canceled it because we had to go. Brunch at Cococabana was awesome! The views and ambiance are amazing. It feels like you're on vacation even if you're a local. Definitely has day club vibes, but still appropriate for families (at least for daytime). Service was excellent and the food is definitely worth going back for. We all tasted everything we ordered. Chicken and waffles, breakfast burrito and the beignets. All were really delicious, and great to share so you get a mix of sweet and savory. We also had bottomless mimosas with guava juice! Yum! Meh! It's new to Oceanside, drinks were ok but over priced! Vodka, Soda, pineapple was $12. The bar at top can seat about 10, the bar manager ignored us while my wife and I waited for refills. The bartender was so busy filling drinks at one end of the bar that she never even came down to refill us!! I really wanted to enjoy this place but it was kind of a shit show "growing pains?" The lady out front who sent us up was very very nice and professional!! I don't see this place lasting unless the bartenders learn how to run a busy bar!
