Nice place to grab n go or go on a coffee date. Ordered the Banana Hot Chocolate, it was good. The service was great & fast. Park in the garage & walk. Check it out

While walking down Santana row, this is such a cute little bakery to check out. I found out that they update their decorations in their desserts seasonally. I had gone during Halloween and they had so many cute desserts, I wanted them all. I went recently and service was very fast so know what you want. Im a suckered for chocolate so really can't go wrong with anything there. Their mango mousse is Devine as well.

Good spot on Santana Row to grab some ice cream, a pastry, or beautiful dessert. Staff was nice, coffee was fine. Plenty of seating but I was also in at about 9 am. Not many options for protein unfortunately

Amazing favorite spot I visit to get my #1 Palmier and Bamboo Very comfortable place to come and seat and eat to enjoy a peaceful time. I do recommend Cocola Bakery to all.

Come for the pastries, desserts, and drinks, and not so much for the service. Not very pleasant staff, IMO. Santana Row stuffiness, perhaps? Like I need them more than they need me as a customer. We came here basically because they were open late for a cafe. I'll save the calories, money, and grumps the next time I have a craving.

Fruit Tart
Vania B.

Ordered their whole fruit tart for Thanksgiving, and it was ok! Even though the description says it has a raspberry mousse, it was actually mango (I should have taken a picture of the yellow inside)... At least it tasted delicious! The frangipan and butter crust tasted dense, but at least the flavor was there. They also misspelled Thanksgiving and the writing was a bit sloppy. For an $80 fruit tart, I expected better. I normally like Cocola's cakes, but this may be a pass in the future.

This is a cute lovely cafe for some pastry and quick rest after strolling in Santana Row. My friend and I got the strawberry croissant, apple tart, orange soda and a chai latte. I love that their croissant is crispy and flakey, unlike some cafes where croissant looked good but was too soft and soggy. The latte also come in a huge mug!

Non-edible decorations on Napoleon.

Very disturbing experience at Cocola Bakery. The Napoleon pastry was decorated with a pink square piece with the cafe name on it. I assumed it was edible -- maybe chocolate, sugar paper, or a wafer decoration. Instead, it turned out to taste and feel like dense cardboard and was completely impossible to chew. This is honestly dangerous. Someone could easily choke trying to eat it because it is placed directly on the dessert with absolutely no warning that it is not edible. I have never seen a bakery put non-edible decorations on pastries without informing customers. This is irresponsible and unacceptable. Very disappointed. Would not recommend.

Plenty of options and quick service. We got the cheese danish and enjoyed its flavor, drip coffee was good as well. Plenty of outside seating options and cute atmosphere.

It's an okay bakery. Everything is really cute looking but not everything tastes that great. One of my favorites though is the pineapple with coconut cream pastry. On this last visit I tried the banana and chocolate cake and the caramel cake. The banana cake was horrible and I would not recommend that to anyone at all. The caramel one was okay and probably really good for someone who loves caramel. It's a nice little treat if you're in the area. Service can be a little slow but it's not bad if you're not in a hurry.

My husband and I were passing through Santana Row yesterday and we decided to browse Cocola Bakery to see what pastries were offered. This is a very quaint and beautiful setup. They have available seating inside as well as a large seating area outside their store Front. The variety of pastries and cakes are colorful and so elegantly shown. I believe they also offer affogato options for nice days like yesterday and hotter days during the summers. When we walked in, we were automatically welcomed by the staff/baristas and asked if we needed help or had any questions. After browsing their whole selection of pastries, I noticed the pistachio almond croissant and told my husband that it looks delicious and pistachios are a thing/trend right now. He also noticed there was only one left so he said it may be super popular. So guess what he decided on? Haha yes we bought the pistachio croissant. To my surprise, it was not overly sweet but you can taste the pistachio cream inside the almond croissant. The almond taste of the croissant was also perfect. We didn't get a chance to order a coffee with our pastry so when we come back.. we will definitely try a latte or maybe the banana hot chocolate everyone is craving about when we were there. The only thing I suggest is offering Matcha (ceremonial grade, of course) on their menu: Iced and Hot with options for Strawberry or Regular (it's great to see sugar free options for syrups as well) but I know many cafes won't have too many sugar free options except for sugar free vanilla syrups. But if they had Matcha .. I would've definitely ordered an Iced Matcha with light strawberry syrup. But we will be back for sure as this place offered a pastry that was great to eat.

Was walking by santana row and stopped here for some Quick drinks. Nice selection but heavily overpriced on the tarts and sweets etc. it is santana row so *shrug* , drinks are normal priced though, nice seating outside and indoors as well

Stopped by Cocola at Santana Row right at opening on a Saturday. No crowd at all, which made it a relaxing start to the day. I got a hot mocha, the flavor was average, but the portion size was generous and the price surprisingly affordable for Santana Row. Tried the mushroom croissant and was really pleased. it had a nice savory umami flavor. Also had a pistachio croissant, which was decent but tasted like it wasn't made fresh that morning. Pastries are on the pricier side and the quality is average. Service was fast and the baristas were friendly. Outdoor seating was lovely, and there's plenty of parking, but it's only free for the first two hours.

Do they have their small cakes for sale or do they always have to be ordered ahead of time?

Dear Customer, thank you for your question. Almost all of our small cakes are always available for pick up. We make thousands of cakes per week and we have a large inventory of fresh individual and mini pastries for pick up. Not every store may have… Read more

How much is a small chocolate mousse? how about the big one? thanks!

Joy, great question! The price also depends on what flavor and what you define as "big one". They have multiple sizes ranging from mini to as big as a full sheet, which according to their website, can feed about 68 people. For your specific flavor,… Read more

Yes, they have salads and drinks that are gluten free. Unfortunately I don't think any of the baked goods or sandwiches are gluten free, but the macaroons might be.

The staff described it as cold brew with milk and sweetener, which was helpful, but it ended up being way too sweet for me. That might just be how it's supposed to be though, and probably my fault for not choosing something that better reflects their coffee. The space itself is pretty large, with a good amount of seating inside and a few tables outside. There's also a decent amount of parking, and it's in a shared building with a brewery and other businesses. It has a bit of an unfinished warehouse vibe, which honestly makes sense for a coffee roaster. Only real inconvenience was that the restroom is locked, which feels a little odd for such a large coffee shop. Overall I'd still come back, but next time I'll definitely try an espresso based drink instead.

I am so happy we went there. Entering the spot, it is a welcoming atmosphere. As soon as we entered, we were greeted and the servers were eager to serve. It was our first time so we did ask for recommendations. My wife got a matcha and I got the "A-Aron" for it's popularity and its comedic nostalgia to a Key and Peele skit. We also ordered a few pastries and some breakfast sandwiches. The corner cafe is small but it gives a lot to look at for people like my wife and I. Not only did we leave with food and drink, we picked up some stickers, coffee beans, and lots of photos and ideas. We absolutely enjoyed our time there and the food was amazing. Indeed, the A-aron was a HIT and I look forward to the next time we are in town!

I've recommended this place to so many people, so it's a shame that I'm always disappointed with my orders now. And it also looks poorly on me when the same issues happen to people I've recommended this place to. I always order extra bacon (as did my friend twice now because she gave them a second try based on my (former) love for the place and their sandy's) and whoever makes the sandwiches now (gosh I miss Andrew) either doesn't add the extra bacon, or slathers it in mayo). See images of how they used to look vs how they look now. I've had to send my husband back for extra bacon on more than one occasion and today it's DRIPPING in mayo when I didn't ask for extra mayo. Amazed that this is the new baseline for mayo. They also didn't give us a straw and we are on the go today (seen of image in car), so now I can't drink my drink. Please make your sandwiches good again; I would love to keep being a regular, or even a customer of yours at all still.

The only critique I have is the music being way too loud at times. It's NOT what type of music is playing, but purely the volume. It wasn't crazy busy so it was easy to order through one of their two tablets and find a spot to sit. It is very spacious and filled with many tables, so even when busy you'll likely be able to find a spot. The menu is a bit messy to look at--there is a big menu hanging over the kiosks, another posted alongside where a line is formed, then the menu on the tablet kiosks themselves. It's a pretty big menu featuring primarily coffee-based drinks, matcha lattes, and a wide variety of food, so you'll likely find something appealing. I ordered their smoked salmon bagel (which rang up to about $16) and their matcha latte ($8); to be honest, neither were outstanding. The salmon and avocado in the bagel were great, but the bagel itself was a bit stale--for $16, it's a bit hard to swallow. The matcha was very milky, and there is another store offering better matcha drinks in the same plaza. I'll admit, though, it's a little on me for not picking coffee at a spot with "coffee" in the name. I will say, though, that the atmosphere in the main area is pretty good; the decor is understated but comfortable, and the lighting is good. The service is also solid--the servers are friendly and our order came out quickly. I will say that the bathroom feels ominous. Overall, it's a great spot to study; Big Mug is open late, has free Wi-Fi and a bathroom for customers, and offers both food and caffeinated drinks for longer study sessions. I feel that the prices vary widely for items but skew towards being too pricy for the quality, at least from my limited experience. I plan on coming back to give other items a try, but for now, it's not a favorite.
