Who doesn't love Coco's? Yummy diner + home cooked style meals are never a bad choice. Armando was seriously the kindest server + it was very busy being the day before thanksgiving! He was so attentive. It's just nice to get seated quickly, place your order, and it come out in a timely manner. Not to mention that every coco's is immaculate + clean ..I feel like even though there are lots of trendy places to try; it's always best to stick to an original restaurant, especially when you're really hungry! I know the restaurant probably doesn't deserve 5-star rating but I'm doing this for a server named Kevin. My family went here this morning, Saturday 11/23/19. The food (2 scramble and 1 omelette) was good also but the server Kevin was just superb. We wanted to leave him a fat tip but he went on his break and probably tip is shared among all servers? If a manager reads this review, pls give Kevin a raise or something! He was very attentive to our needs despite restaurant being super busy and just a friendly person. He reminded me of Mr Rogers. my mom and other retired seniors frequent this Cocos since the one on Devonshire Reseda closed. Hopefully they can be served by Kevin next time too! read more

I hope this Coco's isn't going the way of so many others. I know the pandemic negatively impacted so many businesses. First, so many long time favorites have been removed from the menu (Santa Fe Melt, fried shrimp). Now the last two times I was there, I noticed how raggedy and run down the furniture was. Place is very dirty. Restrooms are in poor condition and dirty. Windows ate dirty and need to replace window coverings they are extremely dirty. Tables are old and dirty. The carpet is in poor condition. The outside grounds looks like it's not being maintained. Overall, I believe this place needs a serious overhaul and remodeling with be a good option. I love the food here but the dirty conditions needs serious improvement. Owner and management need to step it up. read more

If I only had 1 word to describe my experience ordering a meal and a slice of pie it would be "Stingy". The pie slice seemed to be half the size of one I got before at the Coco's in Van Nuys, also it seemed like most of the crust was missing from it. It was sloppy looking. The sandwich I ordered was described on the menu as piled high with turkey.. VERY stingy with the turkey.. there is more lettuce than turkey so false advertising on the menu and a rip off at $14. I really like the taste of the chocolate cream pie so I would just come back for that in the future and hope they give me a better slice. read more

Mom and I went in for dinner. We asked to be seated with Armando the cheerful server! Such a delight. Very courteous, polite and he checks back with you. Our order was perfect. Ended it by bringing a piece of blackberry pie home. It's a great thing when you can eat and feel comfortable because your server is there because they want to serve and are in a cheerful mood always,( not faking it when giving you the check expecting a tip for their moment of ingenuine kindness.) Great environment. Armando works afternoons. I recommend you ask for Armando and enjoy your meal with a server who enjoys their job! Thank you Armando for excellent customer service. Generally a good place for seniors or those on a budget. Better pricing and quality than Denny's, but only open until 9pm, whereas Denny's is 24 hours. Coco's is friendly and does an adequate job with most things and they do have good attentive service personnel. They are one of the few places to serve all types of pies, whereas Denny's does not, and Marie Callenders is mostly out of the area with very few locations any more. Coco's has good ambiance, and a very good vibe for those who are not glued to their cell phones and who still believe in human communication and interaction. read more

Cocos ruined thanksgiving. The day before thanksgiving I called in to the cocos holiday order line and put in an order for 3 specific pies (the chocolate cream, coconut cream, and pumpkin pie). I paid for my order in advance , received a confirmation number, and scheduled a pick up for 3 pm on thanksgiving day. At 3 pm on thanksgiving day, my husband went to pick up the pies from cocos as I was hosting thanksgiving dinner and the guests would be arriving in an hour. My husband arrived at cocos to find a line that stretched around the block for PRE ORDERS. since I had already paid $45 for 3 pies, my husband decided to wait. It's a pre order line should be quick right?! Wrong. He stood in line in the wind for TWO HOURS. After waiting in line for two hours to pick up pies that had been paid for and scheduled for 3 o'clock my husband got to the front of the line, where he was told "I'm sorry sir, unfortunately we are OUT OF PIES." Let me reiterate. After waiting in line for 2 hours for a scheduled pre paid pick up, he was told the pies we ordered and paid for were not there. This is the part where you would think it can't get worse. LOL. Plot twist. It does. As he is standing there waiting for someone to help him and explain what is going on he hears an employee say to someone in the non pre order line "the chocolate cream pie is pre ordered but it's ok you can have it." At this point I'm on the phone trying to speak to someone and figure out how a company can be so careless and irresponsible on a major holiday, as I'm speaking to someone in the store she proceeds to call me "sweetie" and tell me that I am S.O.L. At the end of the day we did NOT receive the pies that we ordered and paid for. My husband wasted HOURS on thanksgiving waiting in line for nothing. And cocos managed to severely stress out and upset a pregnant lady. Congratulations cocos. You have contributed to the crappynes of 2020. One would think in an environment where so many businesses are going under, clients would be valued. Instead cocos displayed that they have zero respect for their clients time and money, and complete disregard for their pre orders. Please, save your time and money. I noticed there were more elderly folk, and it makes sense since they have their own exclusive menu selection. Their breakfast was great! My friend and I were attended to quickly and well. Waitress was kind. I didn't give it 5 stars because the pancakes were weird tasting. I enjoy Norm's pancakes more. Other than that, good stuff! read more

And I had ordered online around 1pm for pick up at 6pm and paid in advance. I asked the person working there and he went and got the manager (I'm assuming) and he said "well you didn't order in advance". Wtf?? Like if that was the case why didn't the website say it had to be ordered ahead of time. Or why didn't anyone call me and tell me ? Or why didn't they say anything when I got there ?? I mean come on, the meal serves 4-6 - it's not some giant feast that need a days prep time for gods sake. They ended up giving me 5 orders of the ham dinner and a pie. And I had to ask for that. Ugh. All the food turned out to be gross - over salted and dry. All the holiday meals and breakfast items. I mean how can you screw up omelets?? Anyway terrible. There is nothing wrong with the food or service, I just prefer a smaller, independent "mom and pop" type place. I had the tuna melt which was great. My friend had a burger and she enjoyed it as well. Service was okay although our server was kinda spaced out. They have a great pie selection although we didn't order any. YUMMMMM... a hamburger patty, grilled onions, mustard... yeah, that works for me. Came in here for breakfast with a colleague on this past Friday. Was seated immediately even though the restaurant was just opened for the day. Greeter and server were very attentive. We were seated immediately and given menus. Coffee was offered right away and the server gave us plenty of time to peruse the menu before ordering. Coffee was fresh. I had the Mediterranean Omelet which came with choice of potatoes and I selected hash browns. The omlet was done perfectly as were the potatoes.
