I would give this place a zero if I could. The service is terrible and the food is of poor quality. I can not understand why people would eat at this restaurant when it has been cited numerous times by the food inspectors in Manatee County. Look up the Dirty Dinning Reports for this restaurant. The inspectors cited this restaurant last week when they found both live and dead roaches in this restaurant. Another big concern is not maintaining the proper food temperatures of the food. This should be concern for everyone because it may lead to food poisoning. As recent as this week the food inspectors conducted a reinspection of this restaurant. Again, they were cited for finding two live roaches in the food prep area. I would not eat here again! read more

7-14-17 Tried Cody's with Stephanie's parents, well they are rather slow with the service all around. Drinks took awhile to get ordered and just as long to make it to the table. We had 8 at the table, we had Kat as our server and April as her trainee, these girls were pleasant!!! we arrived at 4 pm ahead of the big dinner rush. We then ordered the entrees. The rolls came out, some don't like the cinnamon butter that accompanies the rolls at many restaurants so we asked for regular butter, well back to being slow, salad shows up next oops we remember the butter!!! Salad is a large salad prepared but only ranch dressing is available, I don't really care for ranch! Rolls were good and salad was good with the exception of the ranch. Stephanie's sirloin was pretty, but way under cooked for her, medium well, hers was way rarer than my medium rare prime rib that wasn't medium rare either more of a medium. We did have them finish cooking Stephanie's steak, I just finished mine to be done with it and it really didn't have a flavor nor did the sweet potato I had. We only ate there as it was their choice, I don't see us returning. They were pleasant folk in there. Just serving food not loving the food they served!!! read more

We went to Cody's for my daughter's birthday, Our server was nice but after we placed our order we waited a hour and a half only to be greeted by a lukewarm filet wrapped in grey bacon with a side of stone cold mashed potatoes and soggy shrimp, my daughter and fiance received the same thing only my fiances steak had the consistency of a tire. not to mention I've already said on more than one occasion that the place is lacking in a good scrubbing, there's dust everywhere! read more

From the manager that was standing at the hostess stand, that never looked up at us or smiled to the hostess that took us to the table that also didn't once crack a smile or speak a word. Tried this place for the first time. Didn't make it past the drinks. Our server had an attitude for some reason and was very short with us. We left without ordering dinner and will never return. I suggest Texas Roadhouse instead of this place. Manager we spoke with seemed inexperienced to deal with the situation. Overall this place is very good, not to mention convenient from where we live . However, the past couple of times we have been here, which is about once every two weeks, the staff was untrained, unattentive except for the guy who clears the tables off. He seems to be the most efficient employee in the restaurant. As I do every time we dine here, ordered the 14oz sirloin and the last time I ordered this, out came prime rib. Let the waitress know this wasn't what I had ordered and the waitress wanted to argue with me about what I had ordered she continually said "if you ordered the sirloin" then aplogies. The waitress st ated the manager would come out to speak with us and did not do so until my sirloin was cooked and brought to the table she was very unprofessional. She never introduced herself simply asked if I had received my sirloin, which you could clearly see was in front of me, I said yes and she walked away. I would have liked to give a negative number,evidently one is as low as we can go. This used to be our "go to" place, great happy hour and decent food. Today's events have made it that me, my family and anyone else I can convince, will never patronize this restaurant again. 1) As we walked in an 80+ year old man fell. We helped him up. We let the hostesses know this was the case. They identified the man and then giggled when we told the story and said it happens all the time. NO ONE went to check on the man. 2) We waited 20+ min to even be acknowledged by the server, Amber. 3) We then ordered drinks and nachos. They did come out correctly 20 minutes later. We ordered our meals. When asked if lettuce, tomatoes, etc could be on the side. Amber then said, it would be on the top of the roll. I asked if there was a reason we could not have these items on the side and was told, with attitude, it could be done. 3A) Amber was too busy to actually stop and make sure we were ok at anytime. 4) Although we ordered our meals, apps, etc . 30 minutes apart - everything can within minutes of each other. My son's chicken fingers, cold. My $20.00 steak COLD and the potato literally felt as if it came out of the fridge. I had to track down Amber, who could not have given less of a shit - at this point, we asked for the manager Tom. 5) We then had to ask for the manager two additional times. My son's chicken fingers had come out by then. Amber was no where to be found. I still have no food. 6) We then see Tom lackadasially going from table to table, We actually had to call him over to our table. We explained the disasterous events of the evening. It was clear he did not care. He asked us what we wanted him to do about it. I believe he should have offered suggestions as to what could be done to "make it better". He said he could get me a steak cooked and I could eat it at home. I told him I was not going pay for a steak to eat at home alone when I came out to be with my family. At no time did he offer to comp. anything. We just gave up and asked for the bill. 7) He then brought us the bill proudly stating he took off the steak (that I did not ever get again). I asked he take the appetizer off the check since we never had the chance to eat it. He did. He NEVER APOLOGIZED. 8) Amber resurfaced, slamming the check on the table without a word. My husband said thank you and she replied by giving my husband the finger in front of my 12 and 14 year old. 9) We immediately yelled for the manager and explained what just occurred. No action taken. A place that operates like this and has staff like this with a manager like Tom does not deserve you hard earned money. There are so many choices to eat in that area. Please patronize one of those places that will appreciate you and will recognize that a dinner out with your family is important moment. read more

This place is not good at all, walk in and the dude up front doesn't in any way present his self like a mature host, then we sit down and the place smells like a straight mop bucket, we order drinks my mom asked for tea with extra lemons, dude brings 3 lemon slices on a cup lid and I kid you not the slices look like someone already squeezed the juice out of them lol not even kidding, so then dude takes our food order and everything I simply ask to change in my order is no we can't, couldn't even give me a baked potato rather than fries, and they're the same price on the menu, doesn't make any sense, so then I get my burger and forgot to give me mayo said they don't have pickle chips, the burger was good at least, then my daughters chicken tenders were pitiful looking, most roadhouses I've ordered tenders from are big and delicious, these were garbage and literally I counted 11 fries lol wtf is that, then my moms salad, holy moly its lettuce how hard is it to make a nice fresh salad, it was brown and the dressing was already mixed in and way to much of it, never asked us if we wanted rolls and never brought us any either, and this is the first place as tourist we went to in this area, thanks cody's for the crap experience I knew we should've kept straight to chilies read more

I have been the bradenton establishment at least 4 times this year. Food was okay ...but service was always friendly. This evening however fell very short. Over 30 minutes for a medium rare steak when asked for medium well. The chef took it back and reheated it. He put a steak back on the grill that we cut in.We had 2 waittesses and waited over 10 minutes on a check...which we were sitting directly beside the drink and check station. Chef needs a new career. He couldnt even get it right on the 2nd try. For some reason the waitresses are always prego?? When we were seated at our table, it hadn't been cleaned or had the white paper on top changed out. The hostess had us sit WHILE she "cleaned" the table. Which only consisted of changing out the white paper. Not wiping down the table even though it was dirty under the paper. Our waitress was somewhat rude. We would ask for more water or something of that nature and she would jokingly say no before taking our glasses. I wasn't impressed nor did I find it funny. The salad that comes with your meal is very bland. The dressing is barely noticeable in taste. I had a burger and when I picked it up the bun felt like it was stale is parts. Personally, the burger was too greasy for me. My dad had a steak which he said tasted fine but it wasn't anything special. We could've made something better at home. I just found the whole experience underwhelming and somewhat frustrating. They also have peanuts at every table with shells all on the ground and just everywhere. But when we were walking in I didn't notice any signs outside about peanut allergies. Which I would expect for a place that has peanuts everywhere. Texas Roadhouse does. read more

First of all I want to start by saying we love Cody's and have been to several locations---we had been here last Thanksgiving week and everything was wonderful --in fact we were here twice that week! Was down to FL for spring break and decided to go here again----big mistake! It was on Friday the 22nd ---they were somewhat busy---got seated and waited and waited on someone to come to our table----after 20-25 mins we had a server --her name was different so don't remember how to say it but whatever---she took our drink order---took sometime to get our drinks-she took our food order and that took awhile to get BUT someone else brought the food ---she never came back to our table to see if everything was OK nor to give us refills on our drinks--we were done eating and waited to see if she was coming back to the table ---NOT--so I went up front and told the hostess that she never came back so they called the manager over and he said he's get her ---nothing else---so I turn around and there she is in my face with the bill---never apologized or said anything-----really this is the kind of people u want working for u??? Sorry but this was the worst experience I have ever had at a Cody's! Will really think long and hard about ever coming back to this location! U need to retrain her or let her go because she is giving u a bad reputation !! read more

Awful. Will never return. Called ahead 2 days before for a party of 8 at 7. Arrived on time and they had no record of our call. They said they were clearing tables and it should not be long. We were seated at 8. After waiting 15 minutes I got up to find a waiter. She arrived and took our order. About 20 minutes later she returned to Inform us that they were out of ribs and had been since 6:30. 6 of us had ordered ribs. Questioned why no one informed us when we arrived that they were out of ribs. Manager said he was only responsible for the floor--not the kitchen. I am dumbfounded by these good reviews, but it does solidify what I said while I was in the restaurant: people in this area lack experience with actual good food. This is a place to just fill your stomach with tasteless crappy fajitas or over cooked ribs or late stale bread or dirty peanuts. The service was horrific and after waiting forever they barely acknowledged the wait. Anyway, this place is far from good, but I guess for around here it's the place to go. Unfortunately I would much rather stick to chain restaurants than go here again. I knew leaving my hometown my biggest deficiency would be good food and now that has definitely come to fruition. I am happy to be back in Florida, but just like when I was stationed here the good food is very hard to find. Bottom line: if you want food to get fat and not savor flavors then please visit Cody's. We look forward to our trips to Cody's Roadhouse restaurants when we are in Florida. We went to Cody's in Bradenton Florida tonight. I have never been so disappointed in the service that we received tonight. There were eight adults and one child in our party. Our waitress was Chonda. We were there for an hour before our drink order was taken. We had to ask for rolls and salad. Our waitress appeared to be in a big hurry. We ordered steak and baked potatoes, cheeseburger well done, kids chicken tenders and some quesadillas. Just before Chonda brought our meal out she stops at our table and said they were out of potatoes so we all were getting fries instead. It was too late to tell her to cancel our meals. The cheeseburger was almost raw instead of well done. We requested it be taken back and cooked more. When they brought it out, it was burnt, the mushrooms were raw, and the cheese not melted. Everyone's fries were cold. When she brought the bill, we were charged for baked potatoes and instead of a kids chicken tenders meal, we were charged full price. When we questioned the bill, the waitress became irritated. She snatched the bills out of my daughters hand and took off. In the meantime we asked to speak to a manager, who never bothered to come out to talk to us. They did remove the charges for baked potatoes read more

First time customer. Our server was Robert Palmer (no relation) and our food and service was excellent. From the drinks to the main course, everything was excellent. Our server was one of the best we have had in this area. The bottom-less salad was so fresh. I highly recommend the Prime Rib. Try this place you won't be disappointed. read more

Not impressed. I liked the fact they gave you a card from a deck of cards so they don't mess up pronouncing someone's name. We had about a 30-40 minute wait. Waiting area too small, but aren't most restaurants?! Restrooms right off waiting area so you could smell a restroom smell. The music was loud in waiting area and I assumed it wouldn't be in dining area. Wrong! The music was loud. It was just my husband and I and we sat beside each other instead of across the table. We had to talk loudly to be able to hear each other. Plus, WHY should the dining area need to hear the person up front call the cards for available seating? Only people in waiting area need to hear those names. NOT the people sitting and eating. And then the cold air from a/c was blowing on me. Couldn't request another table because it was packed. My husband ordered southwest chicken. He was disappointed because it was not "spicy". Southwest food usually has a kick to it. He said if he hadn't ordered the side of black beans, then he wouldn't have had a southwest meal. We didn't order the fajitas because I cannot handle spicy foods. Our server said they weren't spicy at all but I wasn't going to take the chance. I had fried chicken salad and it came with their homemade garlic ranch dressing. The dressing had a "kick" to it and I had to switch that out. Neither one of us were very satisfied with our food. A friend recommended this place to us. We were disappointed. Just doesn't match up to the other two Cody's we've experienced. Bloody Mary's, very good. Onion tower, way too much coating and not nearly enough onion. Slab of ribs (we shared), good quality ribs lacking real rib taste, too bland. Baked potato, we think it was left over from much earlier in the day (we had a very early dinner). Rolls and blended butter... my wife loved them. I don't think I tried them. Service was mediocre at best. He was interested in talking about himself, and telling us how little tips he made that day. Terrible service. Waited 15 minutes to sit down (the place was empty). We waited 20 min to get water and drinks then waited 45-60 min for our food. When we asked for refills multiple times the server replied with "gosh I have scar marks on my back". When we received our meals they were basically cold. My sizzling fajitas were not sizzling. The atmosphere screams " Clean Me". We used to visit Cody's about once a month, but our last visit there was our last visit period. It smells like a sewer when you walk in the front door. Extremely disappointed! Visiting from Michigan and saw your ad on the paper. Looked like a great place so tried it. Service was very slow and then all 3 of our meals were cold, food quality was substandard and we didn't even want to eat it for fear of getting sick! We spoke to the server who got the manager and she said she spoke to the kitchen and would adjust our bill. We ended up still paying $26 for a horrible experience. Walked out hungry, my 2 for 1 wine "special" came to the table as 1 1/2 glasses as half was spilled on the way. Wine was all over each of the glass stems and I had to clean them off myself. have been to Cody's a ton of times for years. I like the food and 2-4-1's but tonight sucked. We ate at the bar which we sometimes do and the bartender couldn't care less. No greeting or acknowledgement and forget a smile, took forever to get her to take the order, it took forever to get food, half of it was just warm, no check back to see if everything was ok. the manager asked her if she needed anything and she said she was fine. She never increased her speed at all. Then was moaning that she was the only bartender on. Guess what...customers tip you for good service ...GET A CLUE! The whole experience was painful! The food is great, the service not so much. The ribs are excellent and so are their steaks. THE ROLLS ARE TO DIE FOR! I am so addicted to their rolls & cinnamon butter, its probably why I never eat dessert. There is unlimited salad, but you must ask for it-- its pretty good, alot of leafy greens, but its a salad you would want a second helping of. The atmosphere is very laid back- theres graffiti made by customers on the walls, and peanut shells on the floor and what not. Its always entertaining to see adults drawing on the tableclothes with their crayons :) However the service is subpar sometimes. Ive been here quite a few times, and the last time I went the hostess was extremely rude and unhelpful (I think I waited about an hour because she messed up reservations). We haven been here several months ago we liked it. But the last two times was a nightmare. The first nightmare our waitress was pleasant but we ordered our food and they were out of gravy. The joke of a manager came over and suggested we try some type of wing sauce on our chicken fried chicken. YUCKK ! We waited forever. We are laid back people and didnt lose it and still tipped our waitress good. She was the only good thing about that visit except they paid for our meal. They even shut the store down early ! This last visit HORRIFYING. We thought we would give it another try. Waited about 30 minutes to get a table. Once we got our table at 7:24 and ordered our drinks and food all took about an hour and we still had no food. When we finally got our food it looked plain and unnapealing. I ordered a burger for my son. As I am trying to get him to eat it I tear it inhalf. THEY DID NOT COOK IT ALL THE WAY ! I am fuming as I go and show the manager this trash. If my 2 YEAR OLD ATE THIS HE WOULD OF BEEN SICK. They made a new one but we took it to go. I didnt bother eating the rest of my food after everything that had happened not to mention our cups went empty mine never got refilled, ONE OF THE FORKS WRAPPED IN MY NAPKIN WAS STILL DIRTY. Terrible experience!! Arrived at 6pm. Took a while to be seated. Understandable. Busy. Once we were sat, 1 1/2 hours later still no food. We did get drinks. Never finished them because we were angry. Got up to leave because of poor service. The manager threatened to call police if we didn't pay for them. Will never go back or recommend this place to anyone! Then the server came to the front door and said food was ready. It wasn't her fault so we went back. Manager did not offer discount or anything for our troubles. Just excuses!! Went for dinner with family and had a terrible experience. This restaurant is very mismanaged and dirty. Arrived at 4:00 pm and waited 30 minutes for a table, even though they were not that busy, and because apparently they only have one waitress (who had not arrived yet) to take care of nine people. Finally get seated and ordered drinks. The waitress brings out drinks and takes our order. This is when it went downhill. My husband ordered Chicken Fried Steak, and they were out, because it was the Sunday special (before 4:00 pm). That is a management problem - someone who obviously does not know how to place an order for sufficient supplies. He ends up ordering a regular steak. We did not have sufficient silverware for everyone at the table. The waitress told us they were out of clean silverware, so it would be a few minutes before she could bring additional. REALLY....the management should have been on top of that. How can you not have sufficient silverware, and you are not even busy! Or even if you were busy, they should have had someone taking care of it as soon as dishes were brought back. The whole time we were seated all we could hear were the bussers dropping and breaking plates all over the dining room. It took over 30 minutes to get our food where a couple that was seated after us was provided their food and finished their meal and left before we got ours. I knew there would be an issue when the waitress did not write the order down. I ordered the grilled southwest chicken with sweet potatoes fries, but received a sweet potato instead. My husband's steak was requested at well done, but came out still mooing. Sent it back to be cooked a little more and it took over 15 minutes before it finally came back out. In the meantime, most of our party was done with their meal. My husband walked out, and I ended up having to get it boxed. He never got to enjoy dinner with the family! We will never go back to this restaurant....my advice...go to Outback or Longhorn, which is what we should have done! read more
