I went in on a Sunday morning with five adults and two children. Even though it wasn't a large party, we made reservations in advance so they could staff accordingly if they needed to. Our waiter was seemingly new at waiting tables and seemed confused and unsure when taking our order.He obviously couldn't handle a party of that size and should have had some help. When the food arrived at the table, two orders were completely incorrect and had to be sent back. When the re-made the two orders, one was incorrect a SECOND time. It seemed like their was very little communication between the waiter and the kitchen. Consequently, it took extra time for everyone to finish eating and one person's food order simply. never. arrived. After waiting we had to approach the host (the waiter wasn't around) to ask to speak to a manager. The staff then REFUSED to get a manger for us! We finally spoke to a manager who offered a 30% discount after arguing with us and telling us varying stories as to why our food didn't arrive until our party was ready to leave. Sloppy, disorganized, uncaring and boarder-line hostile staff. Our brunch outing was ruined. None of us will return. I do not recommend. My husband and I have come to this restaurant for years. It sold and now the whole ambiance of the restaurant is not great! The food was mediocre at best. The menu had a meal with biscuits and when I asked if that meant two and was told yes. My meal came and there was one. When I inquired about the second one. I was told that meant you cut the biscuit in half to make two. Or I could pay $3.99 for a second one! What??? Our second signature coffee was wrong and had to be remade. Our server came to the table to take the order and bring food, after that we did not see her until the bill. Sadly, we will not be returning to our once favorite breakfast spot. :( read more

Since there was a bean grinder behind the bar, I expected a coffee pot as well. When it is time to refill mugs at the tables, waitstaff must be grabbing one from the kitchen. As soon as I sat down, I noticed a stack of Smucker's Orange Marmalade nearby. There were similar stacks at nearby tables. If you are a fan of orange marmalade like I am, you should definitely come here. I immediately wanted to order something that came with toast. Between the Pepperjack Brisket Omelette and the Tex-Mex Chorizo Omelette, I chose the former because I had no idea what "Crema" was. I opted for house potatoes and sourdough toast. I should have known better than to order the brisket omelette. The portions of the brisket were dry, and so was the omelette. Our food wasn't particularly good- the home fries tasted like they had sat there for a minute before they came out and my brisket omelette had brisket that was tough and stringy in it. The coffee was pretty good- but it was close to $6 for a cup. The biggest problem was that our waitress was incredibly standoffish, to the point of being almost aggressive towards us. She barely greeted us, had a hostile expression on her face, and spoke to us in a completely monotonous manner. We were polite and not demanding at all- she was just in a bad mood the whole time. We ate and then sat there waiting a long time for her to even check and see if we needed anything- when she finally came back around, it was to hand us our check. Never mind that we needed a refill of water or more maple syrup. Just "here's your check". We handed her our debit card and then she asked if we wanted to-go waters. I went here for the first time an a long while because one of my favorite waiters now works here- Raul. Also because I had time to kill and needed to stay in the neighborhood. I was greeted by the manager who I understand is always working the floor, and seated in the patio on a beautiful breezy morning. It's a great covered patio. It turns out Raul was off this day so a very nice woman served me. Her service was very attentive and got everything right. I enjoyed my early morning visit to Coffee House Cafe and hate I waited so long to visit. The waiter was nice and gave me space to take in the experience versus checking on me every 10mins. I loved my latte, shrimp and grits and beignets. The beignets come with your choice of chocolate or caramel on the side. While not the traditional beignets as more mini croissants, it was great as a dessert once I got home and I hate I didn't get a second order. in 2021 we were refused service because i didnt have a mask. no options were given. their response was we are not serving unmasked people. in their reply to the reviwew they said they could have sat us at the patio but the option was not given at the moment. Well, I made a second Mistake... I just tried ordering last week as we were at home sick. i tied uber eats delivery, food was good but no Utensils, no napkins, no syrup for my order. I called and I was told that that was my fault and i should have told them onluine that i wanted disposibles. so Needless to say, this is round 2. They Win. We love going to the Coffee House Café for breakfast on the weekends. We always enjoy friendly service and, as the name implies, they have great coffee too. My favorite menu item is the breakfast burrito. And we always seem to sit next to friendly patrons who are happy to provide a recommendation on other menu items to try. read more

I haven't been here for a long time, bc my husband doesn't like this place, but I wanted to have a breakfast here today, I could write a review about it. This establishment is very cozy and ambiance is good. I got here about after 9am and it was busy. I checked out the menu prior to arrival, so I knew what they have on their menu. I see they didn't have my favorite Migas, so I decided on Huevos Rancheros and Raspberry Anaretto latte with Almond milk. My server, Rosa came to retrieve the first one, bc it was made with whole milk. I took couple of sip of it already. No worries. Huevos Rancheros was delicious though I'm not a fan of Black Beans much as I like refried beans(California Mex). Black beans are mostly used in Caribbean/Cuban/Puerto Rican cuisines, I think. JMO and JME. I bought some bags of Ethiopian medium roast and Papau New Guinea for my dad's Christmas gifts. I got to meet the owners, nice Korean couple. My sweet friend brought us here on our way through town and I have to say I was very impressed. I love that they have REAL coffee with a real barista and a full menu. I got a signature cold brew and my husband got a cappuccino. My cold brew was a bit sweet so I'd definitely get a cappuccino next time! The ambiance was 10/10. They have a spacious patio with heat lamps which makes it very toasty, but perfect for the winter. We opted into sitting inside. The booths are very private and comfortable. I LOVED my breakfast tacos, just the right amount of avocado, egg, cheese, bacon and sauce. The truffle fries were perfect and crispy! My friend got the farmhouse, and my husband got the sweet potato bowl with brisket and he said it was FIRE. The parfait was a nice touch as well. I always check out any new places we are going to on Yelp ahead of time to look at reviews and pictures and this place looked amazing! I decided to get a Watermelon Mimosa to start with and we all shared an order of Beignets with Caramel sauce. For my entree I ordered the Ham and Cheese Omelette with a side of Hashbrown Casserole, fruit and wheat toast. The food was delicious and I didn't leave anything on my plate! We were seated outside on the patio and there was a nice crowd at that time of the day. We've been going here for years and are never disappointed. Let me get something off my chest though. This morning, I ordered the chicken and waffles (my favorite and the only thing I ever order here). The waitress asked, "are you sure?" Yes, of course I'm sure. That's all I ever order. I asked her why she asked me that, and she said that customers complain about the chicken and many have sent it back because it's "dry." ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Listen to me right now. I have been to a million restaurants in Dallas where so many people RAVE about the food. It always ends up being garbage. Obviously, most people have a limited or uneducated pallet. I can forgive that. What I cannot forgive is these same people having the audacity to send back AMAZING food. I'm literally offended that anyone would send this plate back. Whoever you are, you're an animal. If you don't like these chicken and waffles, you just don't like chicken and waffles. These are a solid 9, and you are the problem if you don't like them. Do me a favor. I'll give you a pass on claiming a garbage place is "AMAZING," and you lay off insulting my chicken and waffles here, because I'd actually like for them to keep great food on their menu. There was an instance she'd gone dark and it was kind of when we needed her most. My wife asked for cheddar to be added to her garden omelette, but that was ignored, unfortunately. From our booth, we were looking around empty rows and not seeing her or anyone for a while. Someone did notice us and when we told them what happened they gave us a choice of getting the cheese added or waiving it from the bill. We opted for the waiver. Service: 3/5. The price is pretty steep. Is it worth it? Yes and no. Yes, because the food is top quality. No, because no breakfast food should ever cost THAT much. Price: 2/5. A huge selling point for families with littles - the paper table covers and crayons they give your kids. Your kids will be too focused on coloring or playing tic-tac-toe with you to whine, "Mommy, I'm hungry!" You parents get it. All that to say, it's definitely the food that makes Coffee House worth it. If money's not your worry or you've got a couple extra bucks, I do highly recommend it. Went on our way out of town - this spot used to be a go to- I'm wondering if they have been sold. My favorite item isn't on the menu anymore (which is fine) so I ordered the hash with bacon. This is supposed to come with poached eggs but the yolk was hard (basically a boiled egg at that point). I do recommend it with the bacon over what it is listed with. Husband got his favorite drink (lavender blackberry mocha) and it "wasn't as fancy as it used to be" but still reported it as tasty.
