I really, really, really love this place. I'm a mom of three kiddos each table games and comic obsessed. I am a nerd. With three nerdlings and literally everybody in my house is so excited every time we go. I'm 36. There was nothing like this when I was a kid. I love seeing people work from the cafe amongst people in their late 20s/early 30s playing DND. As somebody who loves community involvement, it makes me really happy that Coffee N Comics has resources for the community posted up and well as art events like the upcoming Hero and Villains art show. They have treats from Mother of Macros which is great and light things to eat. I got the avocado toast trying food there for the first time. Kids love the frappes. I have been wanting to come here for a while and I'm happy I did! The menu is diverse with hot, cold, blended and cappuccino drinks. They also have Italian soda and food items. I got the snickerdoodle late and the ladies in the front recommended it off their seasonal menu they didn't have up because they were redoing it. They were 100% right in saying I would love it because I like cinnamon because it was it wasn't just on the top, you could taste it throughout. 10/10 recommend. Inside it wasn't too bright or noisy but they do have outdoor seating as well. I enjoyed seating inside which was nice I learned you can watch people play cards of all kinds and sometimes there are live shows. Tables, a board game area, and a large corner with shelves of comics to read. The coffee menu is large with lots of fun flavors for lattes and numerous specials as well. In addition to coffee, they also serve beer and wine and even have a happy hour! I really enjoyed my maple pancake latte and my wife enjoyed her toasted marshmallow latte as well. Since our cat was at Southwest Vet, we decided to come in and have a drink while we waited. Coffee n' Comics not only serves coffee drinks but also has an assortment of alcoholic beverages and a few snacks. We settled on a small non-fat vanilla latte and a black spiced chai. Both we delicious and the two people behind the counter were very friendly. There were a lot of free games you could play and a good selection of Marvel, DC, Anime, Dungeons and Dragon type items for purchase. The store is really clean and organized which I enjoyed. There was an anime show on the tv and pleasant pop music playing overhead. The bathrooms were extremely clean which is rare for a public place. While this is not relatively close to our home, we will definitely be back next time we are on that side of town or one of the furry kids is at the Vet. read more

This place brings out my inner nerd. BIG TIME. I love the decor and atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and make you feel welcome. I had the coffee cake and Honey Beat Latte. Absolutely loved the coffee cake, but the latte was a little too sweet for my taste. They also have bagels, burritos, and all kinds of other drinks (even alcohol!). It is a rare and wonderful thing when you find a business you just seem to instantly love, and even better when that business becomes a regular part of your routine. Coffee N' Comics recently passed their One Year Anniversary of being open here in Reno, and wow, where has the time gone? In the span of those 365 days, this place has become, hands down, my most visited business in our region, and I am always thrilled and delighted whenever I walk through their doors. As written about before, their menu covers all the bases you could want. Coffee, tea, standard cafe favorites, and tons of house specialty drinks. Beer and wine available, and plenty of food on the menu from light pastries to snack on, to burritos, sandwiches, and breakfast bowls. All at pretty reasonable prices. There are also plenty of events going on here, too. Though keep in mind COVID restrictions may still apply if crowds are big enough. From hosting of game tournaments and art classes, to stand-up comedy nights, there seems to be activity here all throughout the day and evenings. But what I think what really, truly, sets this place apart is the sense that the owners and staff want to build a place for the community, a place we can come in, relax, and unwind for a while. And really, we all need that more these days. The crew here are top-notch at service, and beyond that, seem to always have smiles on their faces, always working on some new project or other, and finding ever new and different ways to get customers involved in the myriad of activities going on here. Beyond that, the fact the owners and staff worked to help draw attention to other local businesses throughout the pandemic and offering refreshments to delivery drivers also says a lot of how much they love our area. This is what I think is missing from so many other social spots, not just in Reno, but basically anywhere, and it is a real breath of fresh air. All in all, if you have not yet stopped by Coffee N' Comics, then I respectfully ask; 'just what the heck have you been doing?' In general, I am not the biggest fan of the hyperbole of "Six Stars". But in this case, I say it is not only a warranted assessment, but also falls well short of the mark. I cannot recommend them highly enough, and I will for sure be stopping by again soon. This place is rad! I stopped in for the first time today to pick up some cards and will absolutely be coming back regularly. The people inside (both staff and customers) were super friendly and the vibe was super chill, so I felt immediately at ease, despite my tendency toward social anxiety. Prices are also super reasonable. Ended up getting a cup of cold brew, too, which was excellent. Split the breakfast bowl with my daughter, son had avocado toast, and hubs had breakfast burrito. The breakfast bowl was a tasty mix of potato, cheese, eggs, sausage and bacon. I really like coming here and hanging out while I enjoy a delicious lavender latte. There is plenty of room and seating, inside or outside. This place really makes me wish I was still in school because it's the perfect place to drink coffee, eat a snack and study. Now it's the perfect place to read a book and drink a lavender latte. The space is a fun mash up of coffee shop, video game bar, comic book store, pastry and sandwich shop, live entertainment venue, and super cool nerd hangout. I kinda fit right in even if my age demographic skews quite a bit higher than their target audience. Not fancy and the seating area is utilitarian, but it has a warm friendly vibe. Impressive mix of Coffee/Gaming Hub/Bar came in to draw some and ended up spending the day. Owner and staff are amazing. Beer is good, like really good, the C&C Lager is well made and a great lager. I appreciate that I can bring my kids but also that I can come have a beer or two. They use Counter Culture Coffee, which isn't local to the area, and because I was visiting from the Bay Area where Counter Culture is from, I wasn't too excited to try something from them, so I ordered one of their specialty drinks instead of my usual cappuccino or drip. I had a Gothy Coffee, which was a macchiato with cold brew and dark chocolate. It was quite tasty. Honestly, what this place really has going for it is the ambiance: you get to hang out in a comic book store while sipping a dessert drink, and you have the option to play a board game which the store provides. The selection is huge and too much to name. I would come back just to drink something and play games with my friends; I'm really myself for not taking a picture of the games. This review is for the new sparks location! I'm so excited for Coffee N Comics to open around the corner from my house in Sparks! Been several times since they opened and I've pretty much always had great experiences. The owner is always so friendly when I stop in. They have tons of options from coffees, teas, frapes, ect. I will say they have the best tasting coffee in town (and I'm a coffee snob! Haha), but you do pay for the top quality taste. Over 7.50 for a iced coffee almond milk macchiato when 1/2 is iced coffee, kinda steep. But yummy so I will pay it. I unfortunately have to take one star away for my experience yesterday, as the blonde female barista working was ICE COLD, almost to the point I felt uncomfortable being there. She couldn't hardly utter one word, smile, or even be half friendly. I noticed a man at the end of the bar and the minute I was walking out, she was laughing and goofing off with him. It was really unfortunate because as I mentioned I do love love this coffee shop and want to support it, but employees need to make sure they are giving good (I would have appreciated any service this time) customer service or people will not return. My wife and I are huge coffee lovers so whenever we venture outside of the Bay we try to hit at least one new coffee spot. We were in Reno for a long weekend and stumbled on Coffee N' Comics. The reviews lured us in and although I'm not a comic fan at all I loved that this place is so different. AND they serve beer....sold! lol Unfortunately this time around we didn't get to try any of the beers being that it was 10am and we were recovering from the night before. This spot is pretty spacious, felt super clean and it is definitely a comic book geek's dream. I can't help but people watch and I liked that there was a diverse group of people. They also have an array of goodies (bags of coffee, merch, vegan/gluten free donuts, boxes of random pins etc) The young girl who took our order was very nice and helpful. On to the good stuff...COFFEE! I ordered an iced toffee & hazelnut latte. I know it sounds pretty basic but DAMN it was good!! Good balance of both flavors, as well a smooth coffee taste and sweetness. My wife ordered the Honey Bear Latte and wow it was surprisingly good. I'm not a huge honey fan but this was very reminiscent of they amazing honeycomb ice cream we had while we were in New Zealand so we were impressed. Did I mention their cups are huge!
