Seriously how can you not give this 5 stars. Good coffee. Lots of choices. Cheaper than Dutch Bros. Better than Starbucks. Great service. After 2 visits, the staff began to know our orders. We ate lunch twice on the patio. Salads. My favorites are Grilled Chicken Chipotle and Southwestern Grilled Chicken, no beans. They are great at special orders no onions, no tortilla strips. Really used to love coffee exchange until the owners kids(who manage the stores) became money hungry instead of caring about loyalty and customer service. Been an employee and loyal customer family for about 15 years. Instead of taking care of their customers if they have an issue with you because you use your voice when you're charged extra but your drink was made incorrectly or you pay $10 for one drink but are onlu given 3 pts(the point system is supposed to be dollar per dollar except for tax) so Jonathan figured a way to over charge every chance he got. So here I am paying $10 then $15 two days apart for the same drink well sadly because they can. Luckily you can buy the "secret powder" from Java Frost online a 3lb bag for $24 or a 23lb box and their pastries come daily from sunshine bakery. I will NEVER give this "business" another dime and I hope Dutch Bros runs these over privileged,spoon fed kids out of town. Tucson needs honest,excellent customer service,caring businesses. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS PLACE!!! I just recently left my job at coffee x change for many reasons. First of all the owner Jonathan is extremely creepy and inappropriate. He is constantly trying to touch you any chance he can get. When he would walk past me he would grab my hips. He just overall made me super uncomfortable and I talked to another person who quit for the same reasons. Not only is the owner bad but the manager is even worse. She is constantly talking about other co workers when they are not there and will even talk bad about the other people working there with the assistant managers if she thinks they're not doing something right or being to slow. Some of the girls who have worked there awhile will stand there doing nothing and just boss the new employees around. Also would just like everyone to know they make the cashiers upcharge you for everything on the menu. And they fill there drinks literally all the way up with ice so you're basically paying for nothing. I would literally get yelled at if I didn't make the drink with like 90% ice. Also the "secret" powder is just latte powder you can get on amazon. They mix powder, half and half, and expresso to make the extremes (your welcome). Save your money and go get a Starbucks. read more

I have a weakness in my heart for local coffee joints with kitschy decor. I love their patio and they have a good location. The love stops there. I ordered a "Mocha Xtreme" and asked if it could be made with soy, it could- hallelujah! It was a little pricier than I would have expected but hey, it's local and they can't always get as good a deal as a big box guy. I walk over to the barista, wait for my drink, and as she hands it to me she sheepishly asks "He did tell you the special powder is dairy right?" .... No he hadn't. I would like to thank the barista for letting me know, because that is kind of important. Now I'm only lactose intolerant but there are people who have full blown dairy allergies, this is important information to pass along. I tried the drink anyway, and wow talk about awful. I couldn't taste any coffee or any chocolate for that part. I could only taste the chalky powder and ice. This place is summed up by one word: disappointment, I will not be back. read more

The espresso is just appalling. The roast profile is way too deep, the baristas are not trained, and the equipment is never clean. Not to mention that this is the only place in Tucson, beside raging sage that grinds their espresso so coarsely that all you get is astringent bitter water. I have been a patron of Coffee X Change since Keya opened his first location in the 90's. Today I met with a fellow business professional and chose only to have water. Keya paced back and forth in front of me several times then came over asking if I was going to order. No, I politely said. Just water today. Although the person I was meeting with had iced tea, Keya proceeded to tell me I had to order or leave. If I wanted a place to hang out, go to the park. I was shocked an embarrassed to say the least. He did not know I paid for the iced tea, he did not know I tipped the staff 100% for that tea, he did not know I have been a patron for over 20 years. I don't believe bullying your customers is a good way to generate business. Sad, because the staff is so friendly. read more

Coffee drinks are mediocre. They don't apply the cream cheese to the bagels, which is fine. But they give you one small cup of cream cheese. It barely coats the bagel. The flavor of the bagel is normal. read more

Unfortunately, I was asked to leave abruptly at this coffee shop I have been visiting for years! I came in to study and have never noticed the sign saying no outside food or drink before. I've routinely brought food into various other coffee shops without a problem so it didn't cross my mind. On this night in particular, the door was propped open so there was no way I was going to see the "prohibited" sign but alas I wasn't given a warning and abruptly asked to leave (I even would've willingly put my food away if asked, or been told the rule - and I voiced this to the employee and that I didn't know this was a rule). Plus, I had already bought a $7 beverage! The employee seemed new as I had never seen her before, but I am highly disappointed with her actions as I've never been treated this way in the past, here or at any coffee shop for that matter. Additionally, I've been bringing my hydro flask (outside beverage) in every visit as well as seen others do the same and no employee has acted this way. First when I began my order I was rudely stoped for the employee to answer a phone call and then waited 5 Mins for them to take the rest of my order! After that it all went downhill. I ordered a coldbrew coffee, churro extreme,and a green chili biscut egg sandwich. It took 15 mins for the first drink to come out. The coLd brew was 99 percent ice and water. It was awful. I asked the employee if I could exchange for an ice coffee(which was cheaper. The manager came over and said I couldn't just exchange for a different drink just because I didn't like it. I explained why I didn't like it and asked for a cold brew in which she said no again. After waiting 35 mins for our entire order the biscuit was cold. We asked for a refund. The manager told us we could not do the refund but she would exchange the coffee. The manager was rudee. The wait time is ridiculous!! The coffee is expensive and gross. Pretty decent coffee. Out fast. Good calm rooms. Great place for studying. The best part is how the first refill is free. Otherwise, I only go when it's late at night because it's 24/7. I said I wanted to try Coffee X Change- I've seen this place for what feels like my entire life and have never tried it, and my boyfriend wanted Dunkin. We made the Dunkin stop first before pulling into the Coffee X Change drive through. I ordered a Mocha Xtreme and he ordered a breakfast burrito. When we got up to the window to pay, the guy asked my boyfriend what kind of drink he got at Dunkin. Next thing we know, he has produced an extra iced coffee for my boyfriend to try. It was really good! His breakfast burrito looked and smelled AMAZING, and he is a harsh critic but thought it was really good. The burrito was made fresh to order, and as I scanned the meni I wish I had tried something too because everything is fresh. And finally, my drink- it was delicious. I'm so glad to have found this gem in Tucson and will be back on my next trip down. Even as a Tucson native, I had never heard of or been to a Coffee X Change until I won a gift card at a fundraiser. I made the trek to the shop (I live across town) and I'm so glad I did! I ordered a Mexican Moca and it wasn't my favorite, but the redeeming factor was the INCREDIBLE staff! The manager was so friendly and helpful, he even cut me some slack when I was 20 cents over on my gift card and didn't have any cash on me. Such great customer service! I used to come here often with family & I came to revisit after a while today. The drive through cashier was rushing us to give the order. Also asked for Carmel drizzle and said they couldn't fix it because it was already made. Honestly this used to be the spot, but now I'm not sure if I'm coming back. Get local coffee elsewhere! I've been there twice now with someone else. Therefore I tasted four drinks and four different appetizers. All of these were great. The atmosphere is relaxed and perfect for chit chat. The staff is very friendly and professional. They also displayed local artists which makes the visit interesting and more enjoyable. The last time I was there I had a frozen drink. I'm a little shocked at the bad reviews. I go through the drive through about once a month on my way to work. Usually not too busy and they are fast getting my coffee. I don't usually wait more than 5 minutes. Coffee is ok. Not the best but not bad either. They do have some food, however I've never had anything there except bagels. They also recently expanded their patio and put a cover on it, so will likely be a nice outdoor hang. read more

Coffee eXchange beats Starbucks hands down -- great coffee, whether in your cup, of freshly roasted as whole bean coffee by the pound. I like the food here, and the staff is friendly and tries to please. My primary observation is that while we always enjoy the food, it is rarely, if ever, actually prepared the same way twice. I love my coffee. I'm not a snob about it, just know what I like. Came in on a Sunday afternoon. They were a little busy, but the staff was efficient, so it didn't feel like we waited long at all. I had a Mexican mocha on ice. The amount of cinnamon and cayenne was perfect. A little spice to compliment the chocolate and coffee. We also ordered an extreme bagel. You can customize it a ton of different ways. Points or having soy-chorizo. The sandwich was giant! Worth the price, and it could be shared. Overall A+ for staff, cleanliness, variety, and food.
