Came in with my girlfriend, employee Destiny was extremely unprofessional, extremely mopey, and very rude. She took forever to make our 2 ice cream cones, one of the cones we wanted strawberries in it which we got; however, Destiny didn't even chop up the strawberries fully and left all 3 of them whole in the ice cream which made it very unappetizing. ***HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!*** First time we went in a little before closing and we weren't greeted and when the guy handed us our ice cream he slammed it on the counter. Second time in and there was what seemed to be a manager and 3 other employees and as I stood there for 7 minutes NOT ONE person greeted me or said they'll be right with me as they cleaned and talked in the back. Booooooo, this Cold Stone is stinky! I consider myself a "Cold Stone connoisseur" and I normally get the same thing every time I come. We happened to be in Escondido and my girlfriend mentioned ice cream. So we look up this location because it's the nearest Cold Stone and we pulled in. It's right next to the movie theater on the corner of the building, it wasn't very busy so we got in and there was no wait. The girl who took my order seemed to have a hearing issue and I had to repeat everything twice. When she finally heard what I said, she grabbed the tiniest scoop of ice cream possible. Although I ordered a "Love It", it could have fit in a "Like it" bowl. To make a long story short, we paid for ice cream and on the way out the server seemed more concerned with hooking up her friends walking in the door than the customers inside the shop. I would recommend avoiding this location if you're looking for Cold Stone ice cream, and I'll be sticking to my usual place. read more

What's not to like about a great location next to a theatre for ice cream? The only thing knocking this creamery down from a 5 to a 4 star review...pricing. My wife and I both enjoyed small cups of freshly prepared deliciousness here, and the outgoing fare was over $15. I suppose my recollections are old fashioned, as the big screen options next door set you back $50 for a visit now, but $15 for ice cream in a cup seems a bit steep. There are other options that we will use and keep this in our hip pocket as a special occasion location only. The customer service is excellent, and the staff here is always friendly and quick to prepare your mix in stuff with the ice cream. Great stop for the special treat when you aren't on a budget! Maybe a revolving credit option for your ice cream here would be nice?? But seriously, maybe a frequent visitor program that rewards loyalists with a spiffed treat after five visits would help to salve the sting on the wallet. read more

I showed up about 20 minutes later and it wasn't ready. The icecream and trademark "mix in" process of adding cookies, candy and other treats to your treat does bring folsk in, especially on these hot days...however, I particularly noticed that the two girls working the shop a few Sundays ago did a particularly great job. We entered the store at 1:55 PM on Wednesday afternoon, July 31 after seeing a movie at the Regal Theater next door. There were no customers in the store and we waited a couple of minutes for the female employee to enter the front of the store from the back. My husband wanted to order a 48 ounce container of Founders Favorite and she told us that they were out of all three sizes of containers!! Are you kidding me?! How can an ice cream store possibly be out of all three sizes of containers to serve ice cream in?! This incredibly lazy employee simply did not want to dig out 48 ounces of ice cream and mix it. Worst customer service in the history of the world. We will never go in there again. If Cold Stone doesn't start doing a better job of who they hire and supervise them after they do hire them, they're going to go out of business in spite of their excellent product which unfortunately it was impossible for us to buy at the store! I rarely go on here and write reviews but I had to do this after today, I walk into the place and a customer is arguing with a worker about not getting his correct change back from earlier that day... if that wasn't annoying enough to listen to I sat there staring at all the employees who couldn't help being nosey and staring at the confrontation..... it took almost 3-5 minutes for me to finally say "is someone going to take my order" and a young boy looked up and said "sorry I was just cleaning this up" (the ice cream bar where they mix). When, by the way, he wasn't I say him scrap at that thing while staring at the argument. It was the weirdest thing ever when I just went in for a love it sweet cream.
