I love cold stone creamery and the great quality ice cream. The prices have increased significantly. One of my recent visits we ordered to Love It sizes (large) and they are about $15 each now. It's a little disappointing when you order two of the same item and yet the quantity isn't the same. One was clearly larger than the other. This is probably the negative part about Cold Stone. They are usually inconsistent with the servings. The service at this location is a hit and miss. Sometimes the staff are helpful and friendly and others aren't so much. Since Covid they no longer have indoor seating but there's plenty of seating in the courtyard outside. My most recent visit I ordered the 3 pint family size so I wouldn't have to worry about one ice cream being larger than the other . It came with six toppings and it was delicious! Ice cream was melted in my cup before I had even paid. The lady wanted me to pay cash and even said her machine would take a long time to process but it worked fine. Super fast. Weird right? Guess she wanted to pocket the cash to avoid being taxed for it? Customer service here is a joke. I've been here before, a long time ago, it's a franchise and the people that own it are very rude. They're very stingy, they give you ice cream below the rim and give you no more than 2 strawberries in your cup. Think I'm joking? I was very upset I wasted $10 here on expensive sugary milk. The ice cream comes in your standard American flavors. You can't go wrong with their signature creations. I like to keep it simple sometimes with my own creation with a single topping. It's enough to satisfy my cravings. The prices are a bit on the higher side. Two cups of ice cream might set you back $20. The ice cream is great don't get me wrong but this mira mesa location doesn't offer the full menu. Meaning, they always are missing ingredients to create their orders whether it be whipped cream, nilla wafers etc. Usually places like this carry a minimum amount of ingredients to be able to deliver like a PAR. Because my boyfriend is allergic to dairy, we wanted to order the Silk chocolate milkshake. Unfortunately, the staff said they could only make it with regular milk since they don't have Silk almond milk (and haven't had it for a while), which defeats the whole purpose. Appreciated the staff for giving us a heads up, but whoever runs this location should take the Silk poster down or stock almond milk. I've been here many times and I absolutely LOVE their ice cream! Some of my favorites include the Oreo overload in a cup, the mud pie mojo in a cone, and their mint chocolate chip flavor in a cup with some extra chocolate syrup. You can even create your own custom ice cream, so what's not to like? When I visited today, I decided to go for an ice cream flavor that I had never tried before: the cookie doughn't you want some in a cup. And, I can safely say that it was everything that I thought it'd be! This flavor contains a vanilla base that is topped with chocolate chips, cookie dough bites, fudge, and caramel. These ingredients all work so well together, and make for one incredible ice cream! It also has a perfectly creamy texture, just like most cold stone ice cream, and was extremely delicious! The staff here are also very nice, and the place is spotless. Overall, I always have a great experience when I come here, and would totally recommend going if you're in the area! read more

I have had an extremely sad and frightening experience in this establishment tonight. My brother and I journeyed to this Cold Stone, hoping for an evening of nostalgia and tasty treats. Unfortunately, neither of these goals were achieved. My brother ordered a banana ice cream, which I have a severe allergy to. Naively, I expected that the surfaces would be cleaned at least to some degree before my ice cream was made. Oh, how wrong I was. As I took the first bite of my ice cream, it tasted like Christmas- and not in a good way. I tried to push past the strangely holiday-adjacent flavors, only to be met with a bite that tasted strongly of banana. It was like a Christmas party with my sad estranged family that my psychotic aunt's pet monkey had crashed, but in my mouth. Pressure began to build in my ears, and my throat started to itch. Immediately, I knew that I had been banana-ed. I briskly walked to the CVS across the street for allergy medication while researching 24 hour urgent cares near me. My throat is still itching, and I can sense hives coming on. Overall, this was an extremely disappointing experience, and I will not be returning. The only reason that I will give 2 stars instead of 1 is for the convenient proximity to a pharmacy, clearly it is necessary due to their lack of allergy protocols. My girl got the banana bread one, it had bananas, cinnamon and pecans. Which is less like ice cream and tastes more like banana flambé.
