Cold stone used to be the spot to get ice cream. They still have quality ingredients. But it's the service that brings it down. A few friends and I were in the mood for ice cream and came to this location. There were a few people before us and after us. There were three servers taking orders who all lacked customer service and rushed through orders. We gave our orders. We ordered cheesecake fantasy, mud pie mojo, founders favorite, and berry berry berry good. First off, not all the ingredients were fully mixed. And just by looking at the picture which was taken on their counter, they just look a mess.

My melted Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream and hard as hell waffle bowl.

I should have read the reviews before getting ice cream at this location. Happened to be at Trader Joe's so I decided on some ice cream since the sun was finally out. Asked for a mint chocolate chip ice in a waffle bowl, ice cream was good but let me tell you about the waffle bowl. This thing was hard as a rock!!! I paid almost $10 for the bowl to not be edible. I probably won't be back for a while considering the ice cream and waffle bowls are overpriced.

    Small ass ice cream

There I was, on a hot Wednesday afternoon. Sky was blue, birds were chirping and it was a sizzling 90+ degree outside. I stop by Trader Joe's for some groceries and I see Cold Stone in the corner of my eye. I figure, that'd be a decent hump day treat! I go in, order a small vanilla with coconut. The teenie in the back makes it. Her boss, Abu, is in the background hovering over her. Homeboy Abu watches every thing this poor teen does. To Abu: LET HER LIVE. She hands me over my small ice cream. I look at it and bam, I didn't realize I ordered from the children's menu. I ask the teen why such a small spoon of sugar? That would indeed not be enough to help the medicine go down. She turns and looks at Abu, turns back to me and says "thats the spoon size." Realizing Abu was her boss and she's likely new, I didn't push the matter and reluctantly paid the $8 bucks. Moral of the story, if you want to get bent, raped and robbed, definitely go to this Cold Stone. For $8 bucks I'd rather go to Salt and Straw. Next time I'm gonna buy a gallon of ice cream at Trader Joe's for the same price. Needless to say, I got two good bites. $4 per bite. And this my friends is how a small business loses solid local clients. Ebert and Roeper gives it 1 star. Why 1 star? 1 star because after all, it IS ice cream. Do better Abu. PS, I'm not racist. His name tag legit said "Abu."

Let me just start by saying I've ordered countless birthday cakes from this location. The last time I ordered a birthday cake for my son's birthday, it wasn't ready on time and i had to wait in the pouring rain for them to write happy birthday on his cake. Then I take my kids to get ice cream and order the medium size, which costs $8+, I paid $10 with tip and the photo is what we received. The ice cream doesn't even make it to the top of the container. I feel robbed. Don't waste your money here.

Cold Stone Creamery is kind of a treat for ice cream. I only really come to get Cold Stone when I get a coupon. So I had a reward to claim and I was coming from work. Thus I came to this Cold Stone as it was relatively on my way home. I've been to this Cold Stone on and off as I do work in the area. We used to come to grab some ice cream after pho. Lots of good memories. Well this Cold Stone is cute. It's in a little "hut" in the middle of the walking area and a little separate from the other buildings in this plaza. Parking can be in the front which is a lot more than the backside, but I parked in the backside closer to UPS and just walked over. There was one worker taking orders and making the ice cream and checking out. I did see another person making the cakes. The whole ordering to checkout process was relatively smooth. I entered my phone number and had 2 different rewards. Unfortunately there's no clear way to select one versus another because it had asked me if I wanted to use my BOGO which I didn't but I did want to use my $5 off. But when I clicked on "No" there was no way to select a different reward. But they were able to manually do it when I checked out. So no biggie. Ice cream was fine and mixed well. He also asked if I wanted a lid and everything fit underneath. Now I know on other occasions I've had fully stuffed even under the lid full. But you know that's fine. It did hold up until my drive back home which is lovely and I put it in our freezer so we can eat it later in the evening. Overall, not a bad spot to grab ice cream. It is kind of pricey but you know what you're getting into when you're getting ice cream outside and not in a tub at the grocery store. It's the experience! Make sure to sign up for their rewards, then it'll make the ice cream worth even more. Enjoy!

My go to favorite: Coffee Lovers Only

On a hot & muggy day, Cold-stone hits the spot. Although it's a very small store & a few outdoor tables were offered, we managed to get a table. If I had taken it to go the entire cup would have melted. As you can see the picture taken at the register looked like I had been waiting to eat it for 5-10 minutes, so I was a little disappointed that it came to me in that state. Other than the major melt down of the ice cream, I did enjoy the Coffee Lovers Only ice cream. Orders: Coffee Lovers Only -why I always go back to this is bc the coffee flavor is retained & not compromised, while the Almonds & Caramel then add a textual dimension which is a nice balance. Strawberry Ice cream with added Brownies- a creamy & rich ice cream that tells you Cold Stone uses whole milk. The added brownies gives it a nice chewy chocolate texture. Every once in a while it's nice to cool down with a Cold Stone ice cream! So until next time!

Having a COVID 19 ice cream break!

Open for business during COVID-19 Shelter in Place!!! Come and support local businesses! It didn't look open. They need an OPEN sign. You cannot enter without a mask. No samples. Worker was wearing a mask and gloves. Friendly service. He was patient with us as the kids decided on what they wanted to get. All flavors were available. The ice cream is just as fresh as before SIP. Lots of toppings. My daughter got a scoop of cake batter. Since no samples are given during COVID-19, she took a chance. She said it has a good cake batter flavor. My son got a Like It size of one of the special creations - Cookie Doughn't You Want Some®. IT WAS HUGE!!! And he said it was really good! Waiting for Cold Stone to come out with a keto friendly option. Please!!!!!

    Ice cream cake

I ordered a custom ice cream cake for my daughter's 10th birthday. Chocolate cake layers, with cookie dough ice cream mix ins. The picture shows what was received. The manager did not try to replace it, and would only offer a discount on my next purchase for which he gave me his name and number. I had even tipped him 20%, upon purchase, in hopes that he'd make a good cake. I was wrong in doing so. He was rude and defensive. I will not order a cake from them again, and I certainly will not return to that site.

I have been to this coldstone 3 times now in between the times of 9:05 to 9:30 and they have had the doors locked not accepting customers. On the website as well as yelp, it says they close at 10PM (this was last updated 2 weeks ago) and when I ask through the doors they not only disregard my presence, they LAUGH to eachother. It's very rude and underwhelming considering their ice cream is decent. I don't think I will coming back.

From the moment you step inside, there is an unmistakable warmth to the space not just from the ovens but from the overall vibe. It is bright, upbeat, and welcoming in a way that immediately puts you at ease and sets the tone for a great experience. We started with the Pop Tarts which deserve special recognition. These are not novelty pastries. They are elevated, flaky, buttery, and packed with flavor. The kind of treat that makes you pause mid bite and immediately realize this place takes its craft seriously. The breakfast burrito was equally impressive. Hearty, well balanced, and comforting without being heavy, it was clearly made with intention and quality ingredients rather than shortcuts. The waffles with blueberries and whipped cream were outstanding. Crisp on the outside and soft and airy on the inside, with fresh blueberries that added brightness and a whipped cream that felt light and indulgent rather than overly sweet. It was the kind of dish that manages to feel nostalgic and refined at the same time. Then came the pastries. Any attempt at restraint disappeared quickly. Everything in the case looked incredible and after tasting the first few items it became obvious that passing on anything would have been a mistake. We ended up buying far more pastries than planned simply because the quality across the board was that high. There were no weak links. What truly elevates Life Is Sweet beyond excellent food is the energy of the place. There is a positivity that fills the room and it is completely effortless. It makes you want to slow down, sit longer, and enjoy where you are. Whether you are stopping in for a quick breakfast or lingering with coffee and conversation, the environment naturally lifts your mood. Life Is Sweet is not just a bakery or breakfast spot. It is a place that genuinely enhances your day. The food is exceptional, the atmosphere is inviting, and the experience stays with you well after you leave. This is a must visit in Danville and the kind of place you will find yourself thinking about long after the last pastry is gone.

Karen, the owner, took the time to walk me through the sampler box of the different wedding cake flavors, even though it started to get busy in the store she was very kind to make it a personal experience. There were 12 different flavors in the sampler ranging from standard red velvet or vanilla cake, to some fancier ones such as poppy seed cake with lemon curd. Our favorite was the vanilla cake with apricot preserve and we will almost certainly be having that as one of our layers. I was super overwhelmed handling other wedding details, and every conversation with them made me feel so comfortable. I talked to Karen a week beforehand to confirm all cake details, and she was SO warm and had the best "We got this! Don't even worry" attitude - I can't even describe how relieved she made me feel. They were able to make our whole cake gluten-free due to my own allergy. I have had celiac for almost 20 years, and still can't even bake anything remotely edible after countless attempts. The fact that they made this cake gluten free and we all RAVED about it is 1) a miracle in itself and 2) makes me actively very jealous that I can't try their normal baked goods! I didn't even really eat dinner at my own wedding, but you bet I had two pieces of cake. We are super grateful, and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a wedding cake!
