What a wonderful experience! Unfortunately, I forgot the name of our Filipino waiter, but he was AWESOME! During the holidays, there are people that seem like they are burnt out. Our Filipino waiter had a very positive attitude. A couple people wanted to order The Loco-Moco, but my husband just wanted to confirm that the chef was Hawaiian before ordering it. Once he found out the chef was Hawaiian, there were three people out of a party of six that ordered The Loco-Moco. All three of them thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved my Avocado Toast with a side order of crispy bacon. I should have ordered two pieces of crispy bacon! This place knows how to cook crispy bacon. The whole piece of bacon was crispy, and NOT oily. Their bacon paired well with the Avocado Toast. Their website does not give a good description of this item. It's actually grilled sourdough, frisée, radish, egg and numerous slices of avocado. I asked them to hold the frisée and radish. The other two people enjoyed the Omelet Bar and Colette Breakfast with crispy bacon. None of us left enough food on our plates to take home. They have an outdoor area that has two TVs - one was showing soccer and one was showing spongebob - catering to a wide audience. The inside of the restaurant is pretty plain, a lot more can be done with the place. There is parking outside in the shopping center lot but it was pretty crowded on a Saturday morning. I've been here twice now and both times have been great. I run a meetup group and like to bring everyone here after we hike Eaton Canyon. Both times Colette has happily accommodated a 6+ group of sweaty Bettys with ease. Their menu is great for most diets. Their patio is a wonderful place to sit and enjoy a mimosa after being in the sun and dirt for a couple hours and they're very dog friendly. Cute brunch spot (also does dinner though) in northeast Pasadena which includes a large patio to bring your dogs and some TVs in case you are missing a game. Parking is ample with a huge shared lot, and given its off the path location, isn't as busy so you won't be waiting in a ridiculous line. I thought the service was good for a brunch spot- pretty quick at coffee/water refills and nice people. I thought the food was also good. My favorite was the Churro French toast, a lightly fried brioche dish. I needed more protein so I got sides of apple wood sausage and eggs, which were a great complement to the meal. We also got their Fried Chicken sandwich, which had a really nice slaw- my only complaint was the chicken pieces were small so I really couldn't taste that part (more like just crispy chicken skin/fried batter with the slaw). The garlic fries upgrade for $1.50 more is definitely worth it if you love garlic- they put TONS on!!! Overall great place to try if in the area! My husband and I and our son went to Colette for the first time. My son, who was from out of town, heard about Colette and wanted to try it. Boy, were we disappointed! Upon entering, no greeting. We were seated outside in the patio. Upon seating , the server did not asked what we wanted to drink. Just took off. We were ignored for 15-20 minutes & still no service. Then the table next to us , a group was seated & the same server asked them what they wanted to drink. The same server brought their drinks (they came in after us). That's when my son got so mad of being treated so rudely. He yelled at the server "why is he serving that table when we came in before them? " That got the server's attention and the manager. On a busy Saturday night, the restaurant had only the manager & 2 servers. They were so disorganized, running like crazy between the two rooms. The manager needs to have better management and organization in the front of the house. The food was mediocre. We ordered: 1. Golden Yolk Fried pumpkins. It was nice and soft but not seasoned. Cannot taste the salted egg yolk flavor. Batter was too thick. 2. Crispy Stuffed chicken with shrimp. Can't taste chicken . Just shrimp. Very nice crispy top though. The sauce was too sweet. 3. Black Pepper Beef Tenderloin. The meat was very tender but the dish was too sweet. No taste of black pepper. 4. Chayote with minced pork. It was just ok. Overall, I would have given a 1 star but gave 2 stars bc they turned on the outside heater for me. I love me some breakfast and I love me some fried chicken, so when I ran into this page on Yelp and saw that they had a Fried Chicken Benedict, I knew I had to come check this place out. The place is simple, cute, and a bit small. They have mainly an outdoor patio area and a small inside area. As it was summer time, we decided to eat outside. We were greeted by our server who later took our order. He was really great, but was really stretched out thin as it looked like they only had two servers running around on a Saturday morning. I really appreciated his efforts in making sure that all the tables that he was waiting was doing alright, but the restaurant should really improve in staffing their restaurant better during high times. The fried chicken benedict was everything we could've hoped for. It was crunchy, crispy, tender on the inside with a runny poached egg, and a dash of sweetness that came from honey (I think). The fried chicken benedict was a solid choice but the English muffin was a bit tough to cut or chew. The breakfast burrito which I use as a benchmark was a tad much tortilla and not enough filling. No sesame ball or egg tart options though which is a bummer - those are definitely not considered the healthiest of options though. This is one of the BEST dim sum places I've ever had, hands down. Sure, it's not your traditional dim sum place, and it's fancier, but the service, food, and ambiance is top tier. The siu mai was huge, juicy, and had pork and shrimp filled to the brim. The chicken feet in abalone sauce is to die for. The sticky rice (lo mai gai) was unique. I personally don't like the cheese, but it was still amazing. They also serve mimosas and other alcoholic drinks! They have an outside patio that is dog friendly. One of the best service was that they gave our dog water without us having to ask for it. We are definitely coming back. Stopped by here finally for a Friday lunch. The outdoor area was practically empty. I ordered the loco moco and my husband got the chicken sandwich. Both were portioned generously. The loco moco had a heaping pile of rice, sauce, a giant burger patty, and two eggs. The chicken sandwich had a honking piece of crispy fried chicken with a bit of slaw. The side of fries (we upgraded to garlic) were not crispy and kinda pale but the flavor was fantastic. The prices are reasonable and service was good. We chose to sit in the patio area as it was a beautiful warm day. We had good company, but the food was just okay. The service was great though! As the waiter kept checking up on us making sure we were content, along with constantly filling our glasses with water knowing we just hiked. I ordered the Churros French Toast, and an Eggs Benedict with potatoes. My Churros French Toast was good! Something different, and it was my first time trying out this dish. Very tasty battered churros used as the French toast. Three large pieces served with Maple Syrup. The churros was sweet enough, thus making the syrup an option. Definitely will order this again next time. My Eggs Benedict was a bit different. I was a bit disappointed to be honest. My egg yolk was overcooked as it wasn't running. The eggs benedict was a bit smaller than I thought it was supposed to be. Oh well... Still pretty good though. I was more disappointed with the diced potatoes. It was overcooked as the potatoes was too dry. Hard to swallow indeed, so I left it. Overall, my experience here was fine. Thank God for a good company of friends I enjoy being with. The potatoes were good but I would have preferred has browns instead of cubed. $16 The service was great. Out server kept our waster cups filled and kept coming by to make sure everything was okay. Poor/slow service and despite being there for 80+ minutes only 2 out of 3 dishes ever came out. The missing order of the appetizer (Szechuan chicken salad) was never fulfilled despite following up after 60+ minutes of waiting and receiving the other two dishes. Notified the server of this and after informing the kitchen they then claimed that it would "be right out". However after waiting another 20 minutes and still not receiving it, it was ultimately cancelled and the bill was called for. The first dish (Golden Shrimp) was quite slow to come out and came out cold despite being a fried item, which leads me to suspect that it was long forgotten or even misdelivered to another table.
