I happened upon Collins due to an problems with my AC unit. Why else call an AC repair company...... The first time out, I had to have one of my units recharged with freon. The second time out, my other unit needed a new capacitor. Both times, the folks from Collins warned me that my units were nearing end of life. I already knew it from when I bought the house. The home inspector warned me. I finally had a unit go out on me during the summer. Being in AZ, air conditioning is a must in the summer. The timing could not have been worse as we were having record numbers of days consecutively in the 100's. Since I have pets, I needed an immediate replacement. Collins was able to reschedule some of their technicians to install a new unit immediately. The technicians were very courteous and believe in educating the customer. Other than when the techs were in the attic, they've always had me around so they could explain what they were looking at, what they were looking for, what readings were good/bad, etc. The one thing I don't like is the pricing. Collins charges the going rate for their services so I can't really ding them for that, but it doesn't mean I have to like it. That $12 capacitor (wholesale) cost me about $150 or so installed. My AC died during the cool down. It was a little cool in the house. I called my Son and he had used Collins before and was super happy. A Technician. came to the house and found the compressor died. I went with a new unit and glad I did. The installers took out the old system and had a new one in quickly. Now have heat galore. Also the installers did a super clean up after their job. Costco's partnership with Lennox ended my search for a new HVAC system. If you are unfamiliar with Costco, they vet their suppliers and partners extensively and stand behind them if any issue arises. I have purchased vehicles (new and CPO) through Costco along with my mortgage. In my experience, no one beats Costco on price and quality. The Collins Comfort Masters (CCM) sales rep was professional - arriving as scheduled, explaining the differences among the different manufacturers and systems. For the record, my home had the original 30-year HVAC system - a Lennox - and it worked. I replaced the system to help me conserve power. CCM removed and hauled away the old system, installed a Lennox Merit Series model 13HPP42AP all electric HVAC system, new stand (roof mounted), new supply and return elbow, new programmable thermostat, new electrical disconnect box, new condensation drain, and sealed all the joints. My receipt contained only two line items: the HVAC system at $3262 and labor at $1756. With tax ($254.41) the entire job was $5272.41. The partnership with Costco returns the homeowner $50 (sans taxes) for every $1000 spent on a Costco cash card. My $500 cash card arrived within three weeks. What I liked: the install was fast and cleanly done. The steel stand is much more robust than any of those I have seen in my neighborhood - employing beefier steel and angles in the corners to keep it together. What I didn't like: the electrical conduit is plastic. I am concerned the AZ sun is going to destroy it, especially the elbow going into the HVAC system. A few more dollars for galvanized conduit would not of broken either one of us. I hope you found this review helpful. read more

I was very happy with the prompt service when our heat pump/AC unit died. We purchased a whole new system. I was then sent a referal card to pass on to family or friends. I referred my in-laws who had service done. That was 3 months ago and the referal bonus was to be sent 4-6 weeks after service. I also referred my sister who had her unit serviced about 2 months ago, still no check. I have called twice now and each time have been told it would be taken care of. If you are going to have a referral program at least send out the bonus in a timely manner. I was happy with my service and the service they did for my in-laws but I won't refer any more if this is how you run this program. read more

Worse service I have every had from a company since I moved to Arizona 4 yrs. ago. I had an appointment for Monday in the morning between 10-2. That morning I got a call asking if they could reschedule the appointment to the afternoon between 2-6. I gladly agree to reschedule, even though I had to completely rearrange my afternoon to accommodate them. The technician never showed up, never called or text to let me know they would not be able to make it after all. I expected a call of apology from the company the next morning, unfortunately I got nothing!! I should also tell you that I had been a customer of this company for 3 years. To me, my time is as important as theirs and I should have at least been informed by someone that they were sorry that something happened and they were unable show up when they said they would be here. Install crew deserves 4 stars, but sales and customer service was...weird. I got the Lennox 4 ton 2-stage unit. Kinda overkill since my home is only 1350 sq ft but i like it cold! My unit died, and I didn't have time to get competitive quotes so maybe overpaid but they gave me freon "no charge" on Sat to get me thru. Install began at 6:45 am Monday! Sales and customer service are bizarre but they got it done and that's bottom line when your ac goes out in AZ (Spoiler: I paid cash (check) so procedure may take longer if you need credit approval and it's the weekend. They offer financing at 9.9%). Don't wait until u have an emergency! My friend had a better experience with that company that has a name that's hard to spell...so do your homework. Collins is a reputable company (see all the great reviews) so I add my criticism in a spirit of helpfulness so they can address some backoffice procedure and sales issues. Details on request. We Loved the service from Collins Comfort Masters!! We knew our unit needed replacing and when Garrett came out he offered us a few different options, low $ to all the bells and whistles. He was prompt and informative , I had a bunch of questions and he answered them all. There was a snafu with scheduling and Garrett went above and beyond to make sure my husband and I were happy. when the install crew came out they were right on time. Anthony came in and thoroughly explained what was going to happen. Any time he, Chris , John or Adam came thru the house they put booties on to protect our floors. They were all extremely polite and left my house as if nothing had gone on. When they finished Anthony came back to go over everything again and make sure we didn't have anymore questions. The father and son team (Cirilo and Edgar Mendoza) did a great AC and air handler installation job. My 30 year old Lennox AC system finally passed away in the hot summer late June. Through Costco program, I worked with Collins Comfort Master AC consultant Chuck Wilcox to select a system. He ordered the system, and coordinated Installation team to install. The attic entrance is in a shared bathroom with very limited space. The team was able to disassemble the air handler, tailor some parts to fit the attic, bring parts to the attic, and re-assemble them. No wall breaking was needed. It is a well done job. Colllins Comfort is my company for all a/c maintenance and I thought they were the best. My heat went out on Sunday. They came out right away so kudos for that. The technician, Fred, looked at my unit and stated the break down was such that he could not by-pass it and provide me even with a temporary fix - he would need to leave me without heat. The repairs would cost approx 3K IF they can locate the part. They would follow up with me on Monday. I proceeded to run to Home Depot to get portable heaters to get through the cold nights. ($100.) Since I did not hear from them by Tuesday I called to see if they are having trouble locating the part. They weren't sure where the "disconnect" was but the part is available and repairs will be 3k. Due to the cost of the repair I may want to consider a new unit. I took Wednesday off from work. Superstition Cooling came out. Diagnosed it as an easy fix and I had heat within the hour. Repair estimate $600.00. Based on comments from both technicians I get the sense that there were some issues that possibly should have been addressed during my fall inspection/maintenance. Not clear if/how this contributed to the problem. I question the value of my service contract. I am completely befuddled by this experience and the unnecessary drama. read more

Got a whole new unit and couldn't be happier. From the initial sales appointment to the install, it was all great. We even provided lunch for them. It's been about a month now and very happy. Install crew was very courteous and professional and they were able to finish a couple hours early. They did nick a piece of drywall at the attic opening and was told upfront about it and had it on the receipt to have someone come out and fix it, which I declined; no big deal. At least we were told about it. Not many businesses anymore would even admit to doing such a thing. Can't wait to have them replace the other unit next year. read more

After calling multiple other AC Contractors I had Collins Comfort Masters come out to give me a bid on replacing my 23 year old AC/Furnace on my 40+ year old home. They had a competitive price and the sales rep showed up on time and was very knowledgeable on the products I was looking for. The installers were prompt and clean. They used drop cloths and cleaned up at the end of each day. It was a 3 day install because they replaced all of my ductwork with insulated flex duct and strategically added returns throughout my house to improve airflow. I met about 8 different people in the process from sales bid, all the installers, and the service tech. All of them were prompt, detailed, and went the extra mile to get the job done. They were able to overcome several obstacles that resulted in extra labor but they stuck to the original quote. I purchased the Lennox XC25 Air Conditioner, Lennox SLP98V Variable-Capacity Gas Furnace, Healthy Climate 10 Media Air Cleaner, & the iComfort Wi-Fi® Touchscreen Thermostat. After a week I've seen my total electric bill by about 40%. I would highly recommend them for a new quality systems and excellent customer service. read more

We have used Collins for both Plumbing and Heater/AC needs since 2015. They are the best and we would never use anyone else. Had Cameron for plumbing needs today (March 25th)for the replacement of out hot water heater and as always he did an excellent job and got everything taken care of in a reasonable amount of time. Avoid this company at all costs!!!!! We have worked with this company mainly because that they work with Costco and have replaced a water heater and two AC units with them in the past 5 years. However, the water heater they replaced for us four years ago broke about two months ago, and the team at Collins Comfort Masters lied about contacting the warranty and stated to us that the warranty doesn't cover the replacement of our broken unit. They didn't give us an updated quote on the new unit or the brand of the new unit (which was different from the old broken one). It was only after we got charged significantly more than what we were originally told that we realized that their technician and their team never ever contacted our warranty, despite that the new water heater could have been covered under warranty to be replaced, and we found out all of this after we contacted or warranty of our old unit. It took us at least 1-2 weeks for us to hear anything from Collins Comfort Masters to get an answer. Save yourself the trouble of our headache. They broke our trust and didn't even care to admit their lies and didn't provide any solution. We would be seeking legal actions. We'd advise you to avoid this company at all costs. read more

So far, so good! Chris and Chris came to install my new Lennox 4 ton 16 SEER unit last Friday, and I was absolutely thrilled with the work they performed. I wish I would have taken before and after pictures, not only of the units themselves, but also the new piping, ductwork, and electrical wiring. They really did a bang-up job. I never thought I would find myself ogling an A/C unit, but here I am! I contracted Collins through Costco, and it seems to have netted me a good price on the system and installation, as well as warranties (through Lennox, Collins and Costco). Their quotes were very competitive with others I received. Neil was my salesman, and he was very friendly and professional, with no-pressure sales tactics. He was respectful and punctual when I asked him to call me back on a specific date so that I had time to research and make a final decision. He did a great job. As I was checking my camera out in my backyard I noticed smoke coming from my air-conditioner. I showed The technician Derek on my phone what the problem was. He was Able to see the system going through a defrost cycle and the smoke coming from the coils was just steam. He Checked over the system and set the defrost pen to cycle every 90 minutes. This is normal for Heat pumps because of the cold weather we've been having in the valley. Derek Was very professional and was here within 40 minutes of my call to the company. I think Collins is the best company in the valley for heating and air-conditioning. That's why I bought my new heat pump through Collins. read more

Been a customer over the last 17 years and 2 heatpumps. Overall this company is average at best over their range. I will not pick them the next time. Main reason is because their service is not great. Their techs range from lousy to very good. But my experience was that most of the techs I have dealt with were skewed to the lousy end. They've left loose screws lying about, not closed gates upon leaving, miswired motors, not bothered with booties upon entering the house, misdiagnosed problems, mismeasured an elbow replacement, and crossed ducts. Got to blame management for that. Unless they make you a deal you can't refuse, look elsewhere. read more
