We ordered a Gourmet ? Greek pizza and a vegetarian one. The Greek pizza was very salty , the garlic was none existent and in spite of us asking if it was a thin crust pizza , which they confirmed, it was not! Same with the vegetarian , it was soggy and thick . To add insult to injury, both pizzas were tepid! We live in Reading so it took us 5 minutes to get home so it shouldn't have had time to cool had it been hot! A big disappointment! read more

We used to go there and stopped going few years ago only because we find their pizza way too salty and soupy. The chicken wings never had enough sauce. Always dry and not that spicy. Pasta dishes were excellent but salty. The chicken in their various dishes was always overlooked and dry. Nice people nice place. I may visit again and see if there's improvement. read more

As far as Calzone goes you can't beat this place. Huge calzones for a very reasonable price. These things are like carcasses on the serrengetti that you just continue to feed on for days while you chase off weaker members of the pack trying to take pieces. Crust is fantastic and the ingredients are always fresh. They also include any sauces you may want. Just had the Buffalo Chicken with what seemed to be homemade bluecheese.....awsome! Used to like Colombos just fine. Was always a bit salty, but I never minded that! Unfortunately, our last experience (and first one in a while) was very disappointing. Ordered a large and a small pizza. On both pizzas, with different types of toppings, toppings were not spread evenly, and were clumped in varoius places, leaving some slices very unbalanced or rather bare and other parts of other slices extra chunky. There was nearly no ham on the Hawaiian pizza, and the bottom of it was burned throughout. In addition, combined with recent price increases (that seem to be high compared to competitors) make this the worst pizza experience I've had for a while. On the plus side, the staff and owner, were friendly and upbeat. Unfortunately, that won't be enough to bring us back anytime soon. read more

The best calzones I've ever had! I highly recommend the buffalo chicken and the steak and cheese. Hearty helpings, jam-packed with flavor. These guys really know what they're doing, and you can tell that they have put a lot of effort into perfecting their recipes. The pizza is also superb! Strong, delicious flavor, and authentically Italian. The prices are very reasonable, and the staff is friendly. wow.. I've lived in this area my whole life and I somehow never heard of colombos... until now. I looked at the online menu and decided to try the small buffalo chicken calzone.. keyword: small - the menu said it feeds 2 people.... so I figured it would make for good leftovers the next day. When we picked up dinner, my jaw dropped. It was the biggest "small" calzone I've ever seen! (see picture) Luckily my family was hungry.. this small calzone comfortably fed 4 of us, and there were leftovers. despite the enormous size, it was absolutely delicious. if you like buffalo chicken (with lots of what I think was franks red hot) you'll think you've gone to heaven. it even came with a generous side of blue cheese, which we didn't have to ask for, it was just included. I would absolutely recommend this to a friend and we'll def be back. read more

Just picked up 2 cheese pizzas from Colombo's. I had a coupon I printed off their website which gave me 2-18" cheese pizzas for $16.99. Woman on the phone was very friendly, and in about 20 minutes I went to pick up my piping hot pies. Service was good, the price was right, and the pizza was delicious. We ordered here on a Saturday night and the person taking the order on the phone was super friendly. We ordered a large pizza, each getting our own toppings on each half. The pizza came pretty fast and was under $12! I was very impressed. The pizza was huge and it's more on the flat side (incase you're a thicker/doughier lover). I'm one of those ppl who likes a lot of sauce on the pizza; this pizza didn't have very much but the flavoring of the pizza was good enough that I didn't even mind. That's impressive in my book. This place is hit or miss. Got to say last order was a miss big time. Ordered a specialty pizza. Margarita. Said it would come with fresh basil, tomato and mozz. Well the ingredients were there but the FRESH part was just a passing thought. Do NOT order this pizza. Not exactly sure where the basil was. Seemed like a new cook took the oregano and dosed the pizza with the WRONG spice. It was cold when it got to the house and no fresh mozz. Was ordering from here (about once a week) for a good two years until recently...I encountered the same issues some other reviewers mentioned. Bottom crust burnt making it inedible, cheese slid off one side of pizza and their salads were once a favorite of mine but something changed there too. We've had their pizzas, pastas, salads and a few subs. Everything was always tasty enough for a pizza joint but the hit or miss with food quality has kept me from ordering again. I've never had a problem with delivery taking too long and once someone even called to ask if I made a mistake with ordering pick up instead of delivery, which I appreciated. read more

Colombos, I don't get a variety of things from here. Usually just a calzone. It is very good, a 60 % cheese to meat bread ratio. Which is great, because who doesn't love the heart slowing, delectable taste of chheeeeeeeeese. The staff is always very nice, and they are always glad to replace your order if they mess up. The only reason I couldn't give another star or two is because I simply don't experiment enough here. read more

I stumbled on Colombo's one day and it's definitely a hidden gem. I'm a frequent diner at Colombo's, and I think it's the best pizza around -- better than Pizzeria Regina and Domino's. Though I love thin crust pizza, they do a wonderful job. If you're in Reading or the North Shore, it's easily the best pizza around. I've also had their pasta and recommend their Chicken Parmigiana. Their meat sauce for the pasta is also pretty decent. Their prices are very reasonable and food portions are large -- enough for 2. I have to agree with another reviewer that Colombo's has three elements of a great meal: taste, portion and excellent service. It's also a kid-friendly place and they have 2 high-chairs if you've young children (but no baby changing station). read more

Love their pizza. I am a pizza snob and I have pizza places around me, but I take the drive to go to Colombos. I always get the same thing, just cheese. But i love the thinness of the crust and the nice balance of slightly sweet sauce with the tangyness of the cheese. My husband and I have been ordering our "weekly cheese" from another local establishment since moving to Reading this June. We were fairly satisfied but then I threw out a request to try something different... Maybe better... So-a-Yelping- I-a went. Colombo's pizza reviews were good and we gave it a shot. It was just okay. Edible, but just okay. The crust was thin, yet bland (as someone else had posted) and there wasn't a lot to say about the sauce. There was a good amount of cheese but it was fairly greasy--which doesn't usually scare me off--but I had it running down my knuckles. Eww! A thorough blottiing could have rectified the greasiness I guess... But bland crust, tip droop and greasy cheese just didn't do it for us. Sorry. read more
