I've just moved to Reading and this place is a hidden gem. It's off the main road and you could easily drive by it if you aren't paying attention. I've only eaten there a few times but the subs and pasta are EXCELLENT. The fettucine alfredo is some of the best I've ever had. The sauce is extremely tasty and it's clear these guys know how to cook. I've eaten at enough pizza joints to know never to order pasta. But I'm sure glad I gave Colombo's a chance! read more

Food is ok. Calzone is ok. Steak and cheese was a bit thicker than I'd like but still ok. I gave them 1 Star because I thought this was a nice family establishment. Not really. The town had trick or treating in the square as they annually do. My kids and I made it to this place which is also over priced. The guy looked at my kids who were so excited as we finished making a last few stops. Who ever was at the front looked at the bowl of candy, the clock and said to the kids "it's too late. It's over." We must have been about 5 mins after the "end" time but lots of kids were still out. For a so called and advertised family establishment. You'd think they would let the clock tick a bit longer. It's for the kids and the way you treat the kids will reflect on how the parents treat you. I'd get pizza and calzone here since it's close but after the sad looks on their faces and the HUGE bowl of candy. Never again. This isn't a family establishment at all. He sure seemed to enjoy telling them it was over. He smiled and everything... I hope he had fun eating all that remaining candy. I've never been disappointed with anything I've gotten here. If you believe that domino's is NOT pizza then this is the neighborhood type place you've been looking for. I know that sounds shmaltzy, but they really do have good food, and I really don't know why people consider domino's to be pizza, espicially boston area italians or partial italians, you should know better!!!! Thanks to the yelpers who steered us in Colombo's direction because we never would have gone in otherwise. The pizza is so fresh and crisp and it comes in 3 sizes. The restaurant is small and very clean and has a nice upscale feeling. The salads are very good (my only complaint is they use bottled dressing, so ask for vinegar and oil.) Chicken parm was as close to the best we've ever had (Stephanie's, East Boston, now closed). This is now our favorite place to go for a quick, delicious dinner or take out. read more

My previous 5-star review is out of date, and goes back to a time when Colombo's had its original owner, Joe. Since Joe sold the place, Colombo's has changed hands at least two times, and with each incarnation of new ownership, the quality of the food has fallen. Maybe things are better now, I don't know. All I know is that when I last went in about a year ago with what I believe is now the 3rd owner's stewardship, I found that prices had gone up, and the quality of the ingredients was definitely lower. The chicken parmesan sandwich I had was really pretty terrible--rubbery chicken that had been cooked long past the point that the meat cried out uncle, with greasy cheese and watery tomato sauce. The falloff in quality was marked. And I haven't gone back since. Maybe things are better now, who knows, but I'm not willing to spend money to find out. read more

Fast, friendly service and great food. What more can you ask for. Great pizza, calzones, pasta and their steak tip sub is great. I have picky eaters so haven't tried too many menu items. Delivery is the fastest around. It's at the house in 15 or 20 minutes. Drivers are great. Orders are always accurate and the prices are very fair. Tried the pizza, it was ok. So we decided to try something random. Got a burger and fries. Burger was so well done I couldn't eat it. No flavor, just burnt. The fries were just a soggy pile. We also grabbed some buffalo fingers, those were soggy. Gave it two tries, won't be going back. read more

My buddy live right up the street from this place and we frequent here. Ive yet to be disapointed. I got the chicken parm sub and it was delicious and the pizza is big and I think its really good, but thats the kind of pizza I like. If you like a real Italian Pie its great. I tried the pizza here once when I first moved to Reading and I have to say it really wasn't anything particularly great to me. The sauce was, in my opinion, too sweet and I prefer a crispy thin crust. They were nice enough and regularly offer coupons in the mail, but I have never thought about returning. read more

Diners have the option to either order at the counter or sit down with wait staff service. The dining room is quite small. Food is average and staff definitely need to keep up with cleaning the restrooms. The toilet wouldn't flush and there was no soap in the dispenser the night that I visited. read more

Just moved to Reading last month and decided to try Colombo's for a girl's night last Friday based upon the reviews on Yelp. Sorry to say that I shouldn't have believed the hype. The delivery wait was over an hour (understandable for a Friday night). Pizza was ok. Not enough sauce on the cheese pizza (very oily) and the veggie pizza had canned mushrooms, enough said. I was a regular customer when Columbo's first opened. "Fresh" was the word. That changed quickly, "oh, you want fresh mushrooms, you have to ask for them." I returned a few items the day after ordering them (salad with brown lettuce, and incorrectly made meals) and was scolded for not returning them right away....HELLO? Worst service EVER! I just ordered from Columbo's for the first time in over a year and very much regret the decision. I stopped ordering last year due to their horrible service and their inability to get an order right (spaghetti and meatballs with no meatballs? seriously). However, I really do like the pizza so decided to give them another chance.. bad decision. I ordered two pizzas and garlic bread with the new online order system and it took AN HOUR AND A HALF for the food to be delivered. Needless to say the food was stone cold, but the worst part was the "garlic bread". It was a heap of soggy dough with at least 5 cloves of RAW garlic on it. Absolutely disgusting. Consistently the best pizza in Reading and my favorite thin style all around. We hop around to all the local pizza shops but this one has been a hit the last dozen times. Delicious unique flavor you won't find anywhere else. If you like an Italian style pie with a perfect cheese blend, a good saltiness, just right spicy pepperoni, you won't be disappointed. When this place first opened, their food was fabulous. People used to pack in here for dinner and it was a popular lunch spot. Since the new ownership it has gone downhill. The burnt pizzas, oily calzone and long wait times for sub par food makes this a generous two star rating. read more

One reviewer said this is "typical suburban" pizza. It's nothing of the sort and definitely separates itself from the other places in town. I'm a local and grew up close by; the kind of pizza places that have come & gone over the years were all the same, this is a genuine Italian "snack bar" - great coffee, pizza, and food, a nice array of Italian sodas, and a great decor even if a little small. Now that Atlantic is gone there's also no shortage of parking, and it really is in an unassuming but still nice location. I go back from time to time as I no longer live so close, but I'd recommend you at least try it out. read more

the extremily talll people that work there are extremly jenerous....and the pizza is awsome now the name is kinda funny...i have no idea how they ever came up with that...but theres an extremily scary goth girl that use to work there....she always scared me away....the owner is awsome and funny....the waiters are really nice and they are awsome....i recomend you go there they also have outdoor part were you can eat.....i suggest you go to colombos in reading mass its wonderful and the people that make the food are extrmily attractive......... read more
