This is really hard to write but unfortunately they have no listed phone number so there is no way to contact the store directly but all of the produce was covered in sand / dirt! I got a side salad with a BLT this morning and both of those dishes were completely ruined by lettuce that was sandy and dirty. What makes matters worse is I personally have sensitive teeth and when biting into the rock hard sand sent sharp pain through my jaw. So disappointed, unfortunately I just can't trust this location anymore as it is not worth the risk. Especially when you're spending $60 for food and drinks, this is just unacceptable. Nice crisp crust, but I believe keeps it fresh for a whole week, protecting the pillowy, moist sourdough inside. Just don't buy this bread, though, don't. (Why?) cause I need it. I NEEEEEED IT! my mom and i went here for lunch. it must've been an off day for the staff because nobody gave us water or napkins till we were mid way through our meal, even though we ordered three entrees and coffee. it was also pretty empty, so we were surprised the service was so.... lukewarm the french omelette was stellar as was the mushroom sandwich. unfortunately, the other salad we ordered was.... oily... like oily to the point that when we boxed it up... the oil soaked through the cardboard box... the sourdough croutons, although delicious, were also drenched in SO much oil. we only finished maybe 1/4 of what we ordered. we wish we could like this place more, but we were disappointed by the lackluster service and the oily food the flowers on the table were a nice touch though. hope they're nicer to the next diners who come in! read more

Went in during the afternoon to get pastries after my walk. The pastries tasted great so I have no complaints there. The service, however, was pretty bad compared to what my friend has primed me to expect. The guy working the cashier seemed so disconnected, I felt like I was being rushed to pick what I want and leave. Did not even offer to warm up the pastries that I bought. I genuinely wanted to stay and eat my pastries since the views were great from the restaurant but the lingering experience from the cashier just made me want to go home. read more

Went to the location near the water Saturday morning around 9:30am and it was packed. It only got busier. There was a good amount of parking on the cross street (5th). Inside is cute and clean and there are various types of pre-made bread that you can buy. Got the cinnamon twist (not bad) but it was the midsommar latte (iced) and croissant breakfast sandwich that really shone. Everything is on the pricier side but it's a nice place to splurge at. read more

I stopped here for an early dinner, and was very pleased with the meatballs. There are just three, but they are delicious, and with the sauce and cheese and fennel it ended up being a very satisfying dish. Espresso was really good as well. This new space is ultra modern and minimalistic, but they play lovely music, somewhere between jazz and classical instrumentals. I'm eager to come back for more coffee and a pastry. I was helped by a very friendly, nicely dressed young man. But i noticed that several of the female staff were somewhat careless in their dress and presence. Just an observation. read more

I've been going to the original one on Alma St for a while but wanted to try the new location because they have a much more diverse menu, including pizza and breakfast sandwiches. I tried their breakfast croissant sandwich and my mind was blown! The croissant is super soft and flakey...the egg was as fluffy as a cloud...the mushrooms I added were out of this world! Not to mention, they have the best honey lavender iced lattes! Great paired! My husband and I have plans to try their artisan pizzas tonight and I'm sure we won't be disappointed! I've done takeout pizza via their website ordering three times now and it's always been a very smooth experience and the pizzas have been so good bec the sourdough crust is so plush and the toppings super high quality. Soft scramble toast on country was delicious!! The crème fraîche and chives made the eggs creamy, light and fluffy. I'll never eat my eggs any other way again. This was was just as amazing as the other Collosus bakeries we have been to in Long Beach and San Pedro except now they have dinner! First of all the location is awesome because it is right next to all the navy museum and the new walkway just across the street. Inside the restaurant it was filled with fresh baked bread, great pastries, and our breakfast oh my gosh amazing. I am bring my parent back here to try the breakfast sandwhich and potatoes hahaha. I just love it and I am happy San Pedro could attract such an amazing restaurant to the waterfront. I hope more restaurants will come and join them. So excited to welcome the expanded Colossus into DTSP! I was there day one at the Alma St location, have followed them to Belmont Shores, and am so excited to see them expand their offerings here in SP! We came to try the pizza (2 adults 1 kid) and ordered 2 pizzas. They are much larger than I expected, so excellent value for the price. My only suggestion is maybe a little less crust? Parts of our pizzas were almost 1/3 crust, which is a lot with the sourdough style. Very bready. But flavor was awesome! Some kinks with the wood fired oven and even cooking, but I guarantee that will be sorted out. Haven't tried it at this location, but at BS, their BLT is one you will dream of. Even off season, they manage to make the tomatoes the star, and it's divine. Please try it!!! read more

I love the coffee and bakery part of the business. Pastries are excellent. The part that falls flat for me is the pizza. I had the pepperoni pizza and the crust was amazing, albeit a little under cooked. Still a little doughy in some spots (I get it, place just opened and they are still dialing it in). The one thing that truly misses the mark is the cheese, it's very rubbery. I think this is likely due to either its moisture or fat content. I think using a whole milk cheese or higher quality one would give it that gooey consistency. Either way this is something that can be easily fixed with a little testing. Otherwise this would be the best pizza in San Pedro. It's soo close to being excellent. I hope they see this as some constructive criticism. Wishing you all the best. read more
