My whole family loves this place! It's the BEST of its kind. The portion is gorgantuous, affordable, and the service is very friendly providing a family atmosphere with every visit. It is family owned. I've been here three times, and usually phone order ahead of time. They make me feel as a welcoming member of their family when they remember what I last ordered. They take 15 minutes to prepare my 4 orders. And believe me, it's NOT fast food. Their specialty is "com tam" and you must be in love with its origins to appreciate all the flavorful combinations. I failed thrice attempting to finish my one huge and generously plush com tam dish, so I've given up completely, and must always split my meal into two portions. If I go there for lunch, then I have half a portion later as dinner. No where can compare to this amazing place. Next time I'll try their Bun Bo Hue (BBH).... Here goes, I tasted it, BBH here is good and the pig's feet clean no hair. A generous portion of meat and noodles, but don't expect any tendons in this serving. That's all right for a large bowl under $7. I can smell abundance of lemongrass in my soup and that's how I like it. {There's a big sign welcoming you saying the joint is CASH ONLY. The food was still good, but I had a terrible experience here! First, I ordered my fav. vermicelli, but they gave me a com rice. They were nice enough to exchange it for me... When I paid the bill, they charged me the price of a com rice.... It was not big of a difference, but I wanted them to do things right, given the fact that they already made a mistake.... The lady first told me that it was TAX, but i showed her tax was charged separately.....They refused to change what they charged me, and told me that the price has increased (they didn't change it in the menu... And I even asked them to check the price listed in the menu, and they verified that I was right...), which they are IN THE PROCESS of changing the price.... I love com tam!! (: this place is very solid with their com tam dishes and so many combinations. You can always add a fried egg to your fish and it comes with two eggs. Do it guise! Fried egg with com tam is amazing !! I always get com tam with : BI: strands of boiled pork covered in toasted rice powder. This sounds weird but its a staple for com tam. I'll start off by saying that I'm generally pretty easy to impress with com tam dishes, i love it. This place does not disappoint. I came with my parents, who grew up on Viet food and they thought it was decent. There is definitely much better com tam in the Westminster area but for Rosemead, not bad in my opinion. Their nem nuong cuon is to die for, I was hooked and they are generous hefty rolls that come in a plate of 4 to share, or eat on your own in my case. It comes with a delicious sauce to dip in. I also ordered the com tam bi cha thit which was really good. The pork was well marinated and the egg cake was also very good. Warning tho, the portions are pretty big. If you are a light eater, you may want to share. Downside of this place, the rice itself can be better. It isn't as loose as other places and seemed over cooked so were lumped together. Seriously some good broken rice dishes here. For less than eight bucks, one meal regular rice dish is super filling and steal. The dining area is a remnant of the 90s and hasn't been remodeled for along time. Its totally ok to sit in, but usually I prefer to call in and order take out. The operator will ask your order then give you a number for pick up so listen for it since the English here is not the best but its something. Some good basics I like are the Charbroiled Beef with Rice or Charbroiled Pork with rice. The pho here is a pass compared to the rice, get that next door at Pho Saigon instead. Shrimp Paste, Charbroiled Pork, Nem Nuong, Cha (the egg), egg rolls, pickled vegetables, shredded pork (bi) and lots of broken rice! Cannot go wrong with this. It's 12.99 but you can actually share it with another person. Good stuff! Prices for all the other broken rice dishes are decent.. 6-7 dollars. Oh! their Nem Nuong cuon is not bad either.. well of course not as good as Nem Nuong Thuan Kieu, but good enough. The food here is fast and cheap. I think there are other places around the area that have better food, but what keeps us coming back here is that it is clean. Which is something you can't say about a lot of restaurants like this in the area. It is convenient to bring your infant since it is such a large establishment, there is plenty of room to put a childseat, carseat or booster and not have to worry about getting bumped while eating. I only ate half before being quite full. - Thit nuong cuon: More of a homemade wrap with a lot of bun (vermicelli) and chunks of cucumber, and its relatively huge, cumbersome size - not that I mind generosity in portion. The meat was [again] too salty; they put in grilled pork instead of the beef we requested, oh well. My mom had issues with the saltiness since it didn't allow for eating with a dipping sauce, but I didn't mind. Came here for a buddy's birthday celebration. He always comes with his family so he did all of the ordering for us. We were a pretty large party (15 people, roughly), and I don't even know if he called in ahead to reserve a table. They were able to accommodate us, and it was a Monday evening. The food was really good, although I had no idea what I was eating. There was a meat ball plate, an egg thing, some sort of meat on a skewer, and a bunch of vegetables. I'm not even sure if this place is the right place I checked at, because there are a bunch of Vietnamese restaurants in the area and this place was the first one that popped up. My family has gone here for all her Vietnamese rice plates and we used to love this place. However during covid, they are allowing their customers to enter the store without masks and not requesting them to have face coverings while ordering. We saw four different people enter in without masks while we were waiting for our Togo food. This is absolutely unacceptable considering the health concerns surrounding covid. As far as tiet nuong goes, this is probably the best vietnamese rice combo dish I've ever had. This is my regular spot for the past 3 years and I have yet to find a place that tops their quality and price. I usually go for the standard com tiet nuong which comes with rice, pork, and soup. It is quite delicious and fulfilling. The place in of itself isn't super fancy, but it isnt bad either. Your more or less here for tiet nuong or you ordering a pound of tiet nuong to go to take home anyways. Take out order is about 5-10 mins depending on when you order. Definitely recommend coming out here if your craving some vietnamese tiet nuong. Their spring rolls aren't bad either, but really its all about that meat, about that meat, about that meat lol. read more

This is hands down one of the best com tam places in the 626. They give you nhuc mat to drink and its super on point. Their 7 item combos are really hefty servings and they don't drown things in oil. The biggest difference for me is the service here. Everyone is actually super friendly, something that can't be sad about most Vietnamese restaurants. read more

Was looking for a pho place for new years and every place I'm familiar with had a long wait except this one. I knew something was wrong and it was time to find out. I would have given 0 stars if I could. Absolutely worse customer service. Staffs did not take down order on paper and forgot about the fried egg rolls item and came out with the spring rolls when I was already done with my food. Never got our 2 cups of water and ginger came out in very thick strips. There was literally few slices of flanks and half a meat balls for their number 1 noodle order. Left a $5 and $10 as change as if I was really going to leave 20% tip. I ended up leaving 8% which I felt was still generous. Other people left before their order even came and others were complaining about the amount as well. I would be more lenient to say that it's new years and they're understaffed even with 5-6 people walking around, but the fact that there was no wait shows how they operate normally. I hope someone else can have something more positive to say about them in the future. read more

BEWARE!!! This place is horrible! They are super stingy on the meat. I got order 55 and there was no type of meat on the Korean pork! They pretty much cut all the meat off and served us want was left on the bones. And also be careful with your money! So my bill was 35.78 and for some reason in my head I thought it was 45.78 so I gave the lady one 20, two 10s, one 5, and one 1 and she didn't even bother to let me know I gave her 10 extra she just went on and took it and gave my whatever my change was. I soon realized what I had given her and I confronted her and she was in complete denial! At first I thought maybe I was wrong and but when she obnoxiously opened her mouth and said I gave her three 10s I knew she was lying because I remembered I had a 20 and I didn't have three 10s. I've been to this restaurant many times, and the service is always great. I usually get the broken rice combo plates (~$12), which are always delicious and full of different options. However, I would rate this restaurant 2.5 stars on the simple fact that the tables and chairs are always a little sticky... Today, for example, I leaned back on the chair and realized that my shirt was stuck to the seat. What a "wonderful," surprising event! That hasn't ever happened to me before at any well-rated establishment so I'm glad that I was able to experience a combination of sticky chairs that try to claim my shirt and shorts and sticky tables that have a higher coefficient of kinetic friction than most other tables. read more

Pretty darn good and cheap. Definitely a hole in the wall feel but more spacious. I got #75. It was a broken rice dish with pork chop, grilled shrimp, chopped pork, and some kind of steamed egg/meat pie. They also give you sides of pickled carrots and fresh cucumber slices. I got all of that for $6.50!! They have cheaper options with fewer sides. The possibilities are ENDLESS. Broken rice is a funny concept, it just looks like shorter grains of rice to me. They closed at 9:00 on a Sunday night but were in no rush to push us out the door when we left at 9:30 which I appreciate. My friend (who normally doesn't prefer Vietnamese food) even said he'd come back here to try other things on their menu. read more
