We got a catering delivery today for a meeting! The subs were so nicely packaged + they were delicious. The accompanying arugula salads were also GREAT. (Only thing lacking was serving utensils for the big salads...I might have missed that possible add on...(user error?) Will likely order again for a future company meeting as we had great feed back from colleagues, too! As a side: Some folks said the bread/sub rolls were a little too heavy--so might request that the rolls have their centers taken out to accommodate...bah; no carb era we live in here! I saw this place on Tiktok then on Doordash so I decided to finally give it a go for lunch. I ordered directly through them, two sandwiches and some house made cold brew. We got the crunchy boi sans onions/pickles and the Ham boi sans onions and pickles as well. I added some hot peppers on the crunchy boi too for some extra kick. Sandwiches were overall large, with tons of toppings (if you aren't a huge mayo fan I'd ask for light mayo" and quite oily when delivered. I feel like there was no vinegar on the sandwich but the chips were heavenly. My only complaint was that the sandwiches made us super thirsty, must be a ton of sodium involved and it's so greasy that if you don't eat it within 2 hours, you may have a soupy sandwich. For $15 though, it felt not quite worth it (if it was around $11 I'd order it all the time). Cold brew was great! read more

In all fairness, Im not the biggest sub sandwich eater, but these were delicious!! One of my nurses is moving away and she's has this "bucket list" of food places she wants to try out before leaving the area. The flavor of all the ingredients, the perfection of the bread's texture, and the portion size, made this sub sandwich one of the best Ive ever tasted...super yummy! My nurse, who got the Crunchy boi, which is pretty much turkey, provolone, shredded lettuce, garlic mayo, oil and vinegar, chips, and pickles and onion, loved her sub!! And actually we swapped halfsies, so we could experience both subs, and they were both so good. And they were clutch on following the ordering notes!!! We may have to order again...because she already has her eyes on the Marisa Tomei Eats Free..and Im drooling over the thought of the Top Knot. Hopefully Ill get pics next time. Came for lunch on a hot day and it was packed. There is no sign near the entrance to tell you that you need to take a number ticket and wait until it's called to order. If it's extremely busy and the only place to stand is by the front door then you won't know what's going on if it's your first time. I saw multiple people wait awhile and then leave because of this. It's certainly set up as a to go spot and the environment can get stuffy and uncomfortable with the combination of a lot of people in a small, hot shop. Once you figure out that you need to take a ticket and then get called to order, you wait again for the sandwich to be made and pay at the register. The employees seemed annoyed and stressed out and kept bickering to each other, but were fine when ordering and paying. The crunchy boi had Mayo POURING out of it. It was way too much. Plus, the sandwich is overstuffed with their lettuce and the way it's constructed doesn't allow for a bite of all ingredients at once unless you choose to re-construct the ingredients yourself. It's also overpriced for something you can easily make yourself at home. May be back to try other sandwiches another time. read more

Prices are slightly elevated but this is understandable given it is a small business and you do get a nice sized sub ( perfect to split or save half for later). The sandwiches are unique. You can customize what goes in the sandwich but not when it comes to the bread - you have two choices for bread: an Italian roll and a gluten free version. I can appreciate limited options when they are as high quality as the Italian roll is. The sandwiches feature interesting sauces such as hot honeys and special aiolis that make them unique. The wait is on the longer side since it is a small and popular shop, but it's worth it if you aren't in a rush. You also have the option to order ahead of time so you can skip the longer wait. A beloved hidden gem in Washington, D.C. is a small market in Eckington called Yang Market. Inside is a surprisingly good deli. The man behind its top-rated sandwiches now has his own shop on 14th Street in Logan Circle- Compliments Only. It's so small that it's easy to miss, but don't. Right before you hit R Street NW there's a brightly painted enclave with a gym and Compliments Only. Once inside, you'll see a tiny space with a counter, kitchen space and a refrigerator with sodas and other drinks. Staff are masked and gloved and the menu is on the counter in plain view by the register. The menu includes seven sandwiches with names like "The Teamster" (their version of an Italian hoagie) and "Nancy Pelosi Eats Free." Sandwiches range between $11.50 and $14. Chips are an additional $3.25 and drinks are between $1.50-$3. I ordered the "Nancy Pelosi Eats Free" and a soda. The sub was well-balanced and the honey chili aioli gave it flavor and a slight kick. It's not the biggest sandwich you'll order in the city, but I didn't leave hungry. They stamp a compliment on the outside of each sub, which I needed after the terrorism that happened at the U.S. Capitol this past week. I decided to make a trip to this sandwich shop because it was all over social media. When I walked in I was a little confused on how to order, but the employees were very kind and happy. I am sure that they get a lot of new customers due to social media. The shop was a little hole in the wall but honestly those are my favorite. There were two booth like tables and a bar with stools and the decor was very fun. I ordered the crunchy boi and let me tell you it was sooooooo good. Do you like rude workers? Disassembled sandwiches? Expensive prices and being overstimulated in a sandwich shop? Then this place is for you! I've been here many times. The sandwiches are really not worth the hype they get. Chips in sandwiches isn't novel and u can simply do it yourself. Every time I come here the workers won't look up at you or even say "hey I'll be with you in a second" as you wait. then today randomly for the first time they barked at me to take a number after I sat there and waited for a good few minutes. It isn't hard to direct a customer to the proper protocol if they are sitting there waiting not knowing how or when to order. I digress. Then I get my sandwich and look. It's completely disassembled and falling apart. Had to stuff my dirty fingers in it to get the saturated and soggy lettuce back in. Also- you don't get even distribution of ingredients in each bite. One is full of meat, the next? Lettuce! The organization of the place is god awful. There's no order hence why I sat there not knowing to take a number while the workers ignored me. The turkey was more like a shredded-lettuce-saturated-in-oil sandwich. Pls look at the pics of all that spilled out. The mayo had nice flavors but not enough to save the sandwich. The veggie sandwich was quite bland, seemingly just for the token veg-head of the group. I feel like we are at a point where we can do better for those who don't eat meat. Even the pickle was lame. The best sandwich I've ever had. Hands down their turkey sub is incredible and so is their meatball sub. I would trust pretty much everything on the menu. The vibe is chill. It's a great place to meet a friend for lunch. I would definitely be a regular if I lived in D.C. and recommend it to anyone who loves good food. The staff was friendly and our food came out quick and easy. They have a variety of soft drinks available for purchase. Free water and napkins/to-go bags are easily accessible as well. On a Sunday at noon there was barely a line and a few seats open, so the place was pretty mellow aside from the happy shuffle of the artists making sandwiches. I was in the mood for a basic Italian sub and got the Teamster. This sandwich traveled extremely well. I wasn't planning to eat it for another few hours while on the train. Some liquid had leaked out of the sandwich, but the wrapping absorbed all of it and nothing spilled out once I opened it. Amazing. Excellent choice of paper. The sandwich itself tasted so fresh. I cannot.. this place needs more stars. Came for late lunch on a Saturday afternoon. A few people were dining inside and a few were waiting for their orders. The space is very no frills and that helps you remember that they focus on quality ingredients and not foofy decor. The boxes that contain bags of chips are straight up right in front of you. Staff were friendly and speedy. We couldn't help but get the Saturday special which was a bacon Bap mi sandwich. It was a smaller sandwich but it packed an incredible amount of flavor. If you do not get the sandwich when it is available you are making a mistake. Perfect combination of flavors, textures and ample amount of everything. I was super excited to check out Compliments Only, a cute small sub place, located off of 14th Street. Their subs are all served on a 10" Italian roll, but you have an option to get the fillings on a bed of shredduce or using a GF bread. I ordered: +the Crunchy Boi - this was made with turkey, provolone, potato chips, garlic mayo, pickles, onion, shredduce, oil and vinegar; I liked the fresh turkey and the thick provolone slices; the potoato chips added a nice crunch to it; I think I would opt out of the oil and the vinegar, though +Hot Pants -this was made with pepperoni, capicola, genoa, provolone, Cholula mayo, hot & sweet peppers, arugula, shredduce, and oil and vinegar; I wasn't really a fan of the Cholula mayo as it had a funny taste to it; the hot & sweet peppers definitely gave this sammie a kick! Note that the cost of the sub is around $15+. There was definitely a generous amount of meats and toppings, which I appreciated; I think I would like to try the rest of their sub menu out, especially the Never Been Cheddar or the Marisa Tomei Eats Free. The staff here were super welcoming and friendly, and the place itself is very hip & cute! It seems as if it's a local favorite, as there were a lot of orders being picked up. I'm a hoagie/sub/sandwich subject matter expert, so I was so pleased this spot was everything the reviews/online posts have said! I ordered DoorDash and was still pleased with the quality. I had the crunchy boi of course, and it had all the elements of a top tier cold cut. My only complaint is that you have to add tomatoes (doesn't come with it automatically) now of course this is a preference, but that would take the CB from top tier to perfect.
