One thing I can say about Compton's, you don't walk away hungry. The size of the sandwich sandwiches here are ginormous. I like their breakfast sandwiches. There's always unique varieties. There's tables to sit inside, but it can be a little chilly if it's winter time. I suggest you buy two sandwiches and share so that you can try two of their unique concoctions. The vibe is chill inside.

Good sandwiches! We stopped for picnic sandwiches on a walk to Astoria park. The place is clean with indoor and outdoor seating. You can order online to avoid waiting in line to save time. The sandwich is large but i jad no problem eating a whole one and they are really good & fresh

Pretty solid sandwich place in Astoria that was a bit of travel from the Blink Gym I frequent but it was worth the journey. Stepping inside the place has a lot going on, there is a Pac-Man Arcade 1up machine which I used to kill some time waiting for my meal, there is a large TV on the other side of the place which had The Flintstones on when I was there and the music playing in the background is enough to give a rush of nostalgia if you're a millennial like me. Not like golden age 90's nostalgic but the music playing was around the 2000s, basically music I've listened to as a teen and young adult so it's definitely a spot right on the nose for 80s babies like myself. The menu is pretty expansive in variety, though I already figured what I wanted. The New Yorker Breakfast Sandwich (classic Bacon, Egg & Cheese) and the Turkey Pesto hero. I'm trying to kick the habit of mulling over how much things cost in this day and age because inflation is nothing new. Still at first I thought 2 sandwiches, a can of soda and chips for close to $30 was a tad steep but I'll excuse it because that food was very filling. You can't really go wrong with anything you'll select here. Service was also solid. Props to the woman behind the counter who got my order done in timely matter. I believe her name is Aya, the name is a bit fuzzy to remember.

I got the cheesy egg n mushroom. It was just okay to be honest. I liked the saltiness from the cheese but the mushrooms weren't super great. I also tried their strawberry banana smoothie and that was okay! I'd still come back but I'd probably try something different off the menu. On a side note, the inside of the shop is really cool. They have these mini arcade games you can play as you wait.

This place was awesome! After walking around Astoria for a while, I finally decided to head inside. The sandwiches are almost all under $20, and they're all going to fill you up. I got Spencer's Cheesesteak, which was $16, and the sandwich was slightly shorter, but probably twice as wide as a subway sandwich. The place was super clean, and was a tile-floored, brick accented place. Very bright inside, with drinks on the side. The service was pretty standard, it's a small place, so there's no table service, but the food came out quickly, all piping hot. Awesome spot!

Nice neighborhood sandwich shop that delivers. The menu offers a variety of options, with something that appealed to everyone in our group. Our order arrived quickly and everyone enjoyed the meal.

Both sandwiches were really good and fresh. Eggplant was crispy warm and saucy. The chopped cheese was really good the meat had flavor the vegetables were fresh and delicious. Big sandwiches fast delivery.

Great sandwich spot, a little elevated from your standard NY deli but not too pretentious or skimpy on the servings. A huge variety of hot sandwiches, I got the Spicy Chicken Parm and it absolutely hit the spot. Also has the classic Boyland soda range that really makes it a classic NY deli lunch for me. Really great service as well, friendly cashiers and a tap water dispenser makes it a very pleasant experience.

I love Compton's but they do have a shortfall that aggravates me: They're Not Open 24 hours I never thought that something in life had the ability to make me so unbelievably sad. On another note, everything's delicious, their service is quick and friendly. Enjoy!

Came to the one in Astoria this time around. Much bigger than the one in LIC. The sándwich I had I wasn't that happy about it. It was supposed to be hot but because of the fresh burrata it wasn't it made it cold and it was on the messy side. My daughter had a really good sandwich however that I'd try the next time I stop on in.

Spencer hot sandwich with less cheese and mayo

Really wanted to like this place due to all the good reviews but it really disappointed. I ordered the Spencer hot sandwich AKA the Philly cheese steak. It tasted good but for $16, the sandwich was lackluster. This is at most a $12 sandwich. If prices were lower I would give this place a better rating. I'm unsure why other reviews say the sandwiches are huge. They're tiny... I included a picture with a Roku remote for scale. If you want a good sandwich or a sandwich that's actually worth your money, go elsewhere. If the higher prices are paying employees a better wage or better benefits, I wouldn't mind paying a higher price. But nothing on their website indicates that. Won't be returning.

Our waiter was wonderful. I started out with the Salmon Tartare which was served with toast and a salad. The salmon was delicious and so flavorful. For the main course I opted for the Steak Frites, served with a green peppercorn sauce and salad. It was wonderful, the steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly and the sauce was a nice accompaniment. They also have awesome fries. The others also loved the Duck Leg Confit and the Scampi Risotto. On to dessert and they were all sublime, I tasted them all. The Creme Brulee was lucious, the Chocolate Mousse was decadent with rich chocolate notes and the Il Fouttante was amazing. If you've never had Il Fouttante, it is a meringue floating in creme anglaise, their version was topped with caramel and pistachios; it was excellent. All the newbies agreed with how great it was and they want to return. As always Bistro Eloise delivered a fantastic dinner.

Apps , we tried the Tostones con Birria very good great tasting meat & Chorizo Mac & cheese , also very good. Main dishes , Al pastor tacos & Chicken Burrito were both very good. Next time we stopped by for brunch, we got the bottomless option tried the Sangrita white, good sangrita price wise makes sense assuming u drinking more than 3-4 glasses a person. On the food Carnitas Benedict & short rib hash were both very tasty. For dessert gave the Tres Leches a try not bad, just the right amount of sweet. Another brunch visit & we tried Paloma spritz, good & Mexican coffee, pretty strong in taste. Chicken & waffles topped with bacon, very good chicken good combo dish. & the Lady's enchiladas great taste the enchiladas w the green sauce & cheese on top. Neat, fun spot for some good food in Sunnyside!…read more For anyone like me who isn't great at reading restaurant/bar descriptors, this place isn't *just* a bar, nor is it *just* a restaurant - it's a bit of both. Cozy but not cramped, cute little spot that's great for Summer relaxed vibes and munchies. They're specialized in Latino food and drink. They apparently have a whole flight of Margaritas and/or Mojitos to sample - I'd love to try one sometime, however yesterday I stuck with a regular Margarita and was pretty pleased. Clearly made in-house, none of the store-bought drink mixes or anything involved. My mom and I split a few appetizers between the two of us and were quite full, even had some food to bring home. Went with the birria tacos (solid), a trio of other tacos (steak + chicken + pork), and a plate of fried plantains with beef and mushrooms that was really fun - first time we'd had that, glad the waitress talked us into it. Everything came with home-made guac as well. They have a full bar with quite the selection of drinks, lots of Happy Hour specials up on the walls, and a solid, straightforward menu of additional appetizers and also burgers and sandwiches. The staff are super nice and upbeat. My Ma was buying, and I believe she spent about $85 for 3+ appetizers and a drink. Not exactly cheap but it you think of it more as a filling and fairly tasty lunch for 2, roughly $40 each - it's not bad at all. Will definitely come back and give that flight of Margs a try!

The pancake was so fluffy and tasty, with a hint of crisp on the outside and a nice chewy texture overall. The savory components of the burrito worked surprisingly well with the pancake exterior, making for a medley of sweet, salty, and umami that went really well together in every bite.
