Folks were getting off to a rough start. It's happy hour and I wanna be happy. I ask to be seated at a short table because I had a procedure on my knee about 3 weeks ago so high bar stools at death. For a hanging knee. Well apparently the hostess is a troll and can't accommodate this if I want happy hour deals that are only at the high tables. Or front patio high tables. How sway. We tried this with a group of friends before our Broadway play at the Ohio Theater tonight. It was our first time but several of our other friends had been there before. It was busy but you literally fill out a little paper with each order and they serve tacos and margaritas so how hard could it be? Apparently, pretty hard. They forgot parts of our orders, took our food and drinks to other tables, but my favorite part was when they tried to convince my half Guatemalan, Spanish speaking, world traveling friend who had been there before that the Velveeta they brought her was queso AND that it had chorizo in it. My sister brought me here while I was visiting from out of town. I was overwhelmed with needing to pick all of my toppings and options and I was so thankful that our incredibly wonderful and helpful waitress talked me through the ordering process and gave me tons of hints. Since we were there in a Sunday morning we were able to order brunch tacos. I got the southern taco and the wakey taco. Ate my weight in tortilla chips again. Had the salsa verde which i like for its multitude if flavors and that its not spicy. Keep telling myself to just get the tacos and skip the chips but end up eating both. 1.00 off tacos for hh till 7pm. Been to this place twice while on work trips. They are super busy during happy hour as the location is right downtown where all the businesses are located and everyone is pretty much ready for a drink at 4pm. Even though they are busy during happy hours, I had no problem finding a seat and was greet immediately. The staff are super friendly and polite. I had to ask the server several times how to order in order to get what I wanted off of their 'tick a box' style menu. Why can't I just order a taco with beef, onion, and cilantro without jumping through these 'build your own' hoops? No traditional style or seasoned filings, so don't expect authenticity. I found the fillings to be subpar, especially the beef. The beef was stringy, chewy, and tough. I felt like I was wrestling with a bad fajita. I love this place! I've also been to another Condado's location, and I love both! I've always had a pleasant experience here! The staff is extremely friendly, and they explain the unique ordering process very well! I truly feel like the ordering process here where you write stuff down makes it so unique! I'm vegan, and I adore their tofu and vegan options here!! I also have brought my boyfriend here who has no dietary restrictions, and he thought it was delicious as well! The one I had was quite tasty but next time I'm getting the banana marg. With the tacos I like that you can build your own. My obsession is chicken tacos and surprisingly our bartender was honest and said he didn't think the chicken had much flavor. I appreciated his honesty but I still had to give one a try. I understand that this place isn't trying to be THE most authentic Mexican food restaurant, but my god they're not even coming close to anything even resembling Mexican food. Got two tacos - the Surf and Turf and El Tradicional (seriously, this is traditional?) in an attempt to get the closest thing to actual Mexican food. Couldn't be described as anything less than a total abortion of tacos. Chorizo in the tacos is ground beef, slightly spicy, over pretty flavorless. Same goes for the Surf and Turf; can't taste the slightest hint of 'ceviche' and the ghost pepper steak is hot, but completely flavorless. Got the bacon refried beans as a side. $1.50 gets you a sauce cup of beans that taste like what I can only describe as some kind of bacon flavor out of a bottle. No actual bacon to be found. Now, I wasn't expecting a serving bowl of beans, but this is a little ridiculous. House margarita tasted like some kind of bright green, Halloween punch bowl concoction. Wasn't asked if I wanted salt. I know, if I wanted a really good margarita I should have ordered a higher-shelf option, but this wasn't even trying. The whole place reeked of some kind of cleaning agent; definitely not pleasant when eating. I give it two stars because my server was nice and let me correct a mistake I made in ordering, and the bartender was also very nice in explaining how the whole thing worked. read more

If you haven't been here, it's a build your own taco place, you get a menu and fill it out, state-testing-scantron style, with a No. 2 pencil and everything. There is a 2nd paper with pre-made tacos if you can't handle the PDST from those state testing days! Also, there's a "bowl" for those of you who don't do carbs! Chips aren't complementary, but the guac and queso are a great bargain to share with the table, just do it. I generally get 2 tacos, I've never had more, and I've never left hungry. Obviously, depending how much you put in the taco, it can be a loooot of food. I'd say start with 2 if you're unsure, order a 3rd if needed. Now it's no secret that Condado's tacos are a staple in my diet. Why? Because they have the best taco toppings and shell combinations that you could ever dream of (The Ju-Ju for example, is basically a cheesy gordita crunch). I haven't reviewed the downtown location yet, so I thought they deserved a shout-out. It is just as busy as the campus one, but that's to be expected with this deliciousness. What I like about this location is that it is not nearly as loud inside, I think the tables turn over a little quicker, and I love the area! Finally checked this place out after numerous friends have recommended it to me. It did not disappoint! Love the decor inside and the patio outside is pretty fantastic. The ordering menu is somewhat straight forward, but there isn't a really good system to get orders in. You are at the mercy of your server realizing you are there, and when you need something. The house margarita was great, and at $6 it's probably priced okay. Happy hour is 1/2 off so that's a great time to go back. The ghost pepper steak taco was excellent, and the brisket was pretty good as well. Was in Columbus on a work trip and a fellow Co-worked who lives in the area to us her for lunch. We got there right at the start of lunch rush. We were seated promptly without making a reservation. Ordering was unique. They have pads of paper and pencils on the table. One pad of paper had tacos that are house specials. You right your name on the top and select what tacos you would like. If you are a little more picky (like me) they have another pad of paper where you pick you taco/shell, your extras, protein, cheese, and salsas. They also had a couple different types of queso, salsas, and guacamoles to choose from. We ordered one of each. Everything was tasty and brought out pretty quickly. Oh my WORD! Condado is amazing. I was staying at an Airbnb nearby and just happened to stop in here on a Friday night. It was slammed but we got a table pretty fast. I started with a Belmont Jewel (bourbon, lemonade, pomegranate) which was spot on, and it only got better from there. Tried my friend's street corn which was amazing. My favorite part was the corn salsa though. Chips are so fresh and amazing. I tried the monthly special taco- Korean pork belly with this really good bbq sauce and amazing slaw. I also built my own taco with the Sweet Lucy tortilla...honestly I don't think it even matters what else you add on- if it comes in a sweet Lucy it's going to be amazing. Can't wait to come back! The only complaint I have is that I'm pretty sure the sever was high as a kite, but hey...it's hard to get the order wrong when you write it down yourself so. No harm, no foul lol. My second visit to a second location. Busy lunch time. Note to self: if you are at a big table, don't forget to write your name. I wasn't the only one who did it, but I also kept trying to claim others' tacos. Oh queso. I knew I loved their chips and guac. But that queso. Highly recommend the Tuscan guac. Artichoke hearts & a balsamic drizzle. Gestalt. I'm still trying to find the perfect combo of toppings and meat. I think the slaw I picked with my brisket was just flavors fighting each other. On a side note, there are some two very bad seats at the bar, the ones directly in front of POS. Since bartenders are there typing in drinks, taking money; there also people trying to order right there. While here on a busy Friday night we kept having people reach over us & our food with drinks and money. That's pretty rude. I get it is a bar, but it was also 6pm and I'm a customer, too.
