dropped by around 4:30 pm on a thursday for some comfort food and grabbed takeout from congee noodle delight (part of the congee noodle king family). it's located inside international village, with complimentary underground parking. the place was quiet with no waits. i ordered my usual comfort picks: century egg and sliced lean pork congee, beef and bitter melon on rice noodles, chicken chow mein with chinese mushrooms, and wonton noodle soup. the server offered me a seat and a cup of tea while i waited, which was a really nice gesture. my order was ready in about 15 minutes. packaging was impressive, they covered the wonton soup with plastic wrap and a lid and used two flat pieces of cardboard to layer everything neatly in one bag. it was heavy, but everything stayed warm and intact by the time i got home. the congee had a solid texture, smooth but not silky, and not too watery. big rough chunks of century egg and a few peanuts added nice texture. the lean pork could've been more tender (missing that cornstarch marinade magic), and the flavour was on the mild side. i added white pepper, ginger, green onions, and a drizzle of sesame oil, which brought it together nicely. the wontons were plump and filled with pork and shrimp, and the broth had that pungent shrimp paste flavour. the chow mein came with large pieces of chicken, shiitake mushrooms, and bok choy while the rice noodles were a bit oily and missing that "wok hay" char, but still comforting. overall, a solid choice for simple, filling cantonese comfort food. convenient location, easy parking, friendly service, and generous portions. note that it's cash or interac only, and there's a small charge for bags.

The place was easy to find. Inside of a small mall with easy access. They accept cash and debit card only. I ordered an p. Egg and shredded pork congee, the dry shrimp and green onions rice roll as well as the slice beef with soy sauce flat noodle to go. The portion are pretty good for the given price. Taste wise, it pretty much authentic.

Grabbed takeout so I can't speak for the service or ambiance. Decent sized portion of food, and decent price but the flavour/taste is a bit of a miss. I ordered the shredded pork and bean sprouts chow mein and the sauce didn't really taste like anything. Just made the dish taste kinda like the toppings and nothing else. Didn't hit the spot

We came here for lunch on a weekday and it filled up pretty quick. Food: 4/5 - we had two bowls of the beef brisket with rice noodles soup. The broth was flavorful. We also ordered a bowl of won ton noodles. The broth lacked flavor with won ton. There's a good selection of items from their menu. Service: 3/5 - service was average. You have to pay up at the cashier. Ambiance: 4/5 - place seemed clean and decent decor inside.

When you can't afford to go to Hong Kong, well you go to Vancouver! In needed on some western HK style cafe while feeling a bit under, we found this place! Like every other Chinatown like cafe, you can't complain on how dirty it may look. Service was pretty good as the gals were very attentive and patience with us on what we wanted. Food was spot on and hit the spot. The chicken was amazingly good and cheap for half a chicken! We also got some porridge and fish all/cake ho fun for the kids. Flavor was all there and quick! To top it off, they also had rice noodle wrapped in chinese noodle 炸两. Would come back again if it's still around next time!

This place was really close to our airbnb so we came here for dinner. Restaurant located inside the International Mall in downtown. This is a smaller restaurant with a few tables. We ordered 3 three dishes and did family style. - Beef stir fry - crispy noodle topped with stir fry vegetable and beef. Flavor ok, a bit oily. - Seafood Congee - A bit bland. Congee is more thicker. - Charsiu and duck plate - a big plate of rice. Decent amount of meat. Flavor was okay. Not cheap Chinese food to eat. Service was okay.

I love the congee here. So flavorful and filling. The fried eggplant is awesome, too. Great flavours. Singapore vermicelli is another win. My partner loves the corn and chicken soup. Staff is always friendly and helpful.

Had the dumplings in soup. Counted 10 very large shrimp dumplings and they tasted fresh and perfectly salted. I was amazed how much I got for $11. My friend had the beef congee and we shared a steamed daikon. This was 4 large pieces for $6. This place is a hidden gem in Tinseltown and is a genuine Hong Kong style restaurant. Service was great. Place was not very busy on BC Day. Price is very reasonable and I will definitely be back. Park for free for 2 hours downstairs. Three days later: I ordered some dishes for take out. Service was quick and friendly. They bagged the curry chicken so it would't spill in my own cloth bag. I found this dish on the sweet side. Same with the brisket with lettuce. Had the House Special Chow mein, preserved fish and diced chicken fried rice, pan fried mixed mushrooms with snow peas and sautéed prawns and scallop with vegetables. I like these dishes and I find it comparable to the Chinese restaurants. I really liked the pan fried garlic tofu nuggets and deep fried eggplant with XO sauce. These should be eaten fresh in the restaurant as they can get soggy if it sits in a container. I ate these in the car on the way home. Prices are higher than online prices which they haven't updated so ask so you won't be shocked when paying. Looking forward to try their other dishes. I don't notice MSG as I do with the restaurant near my house. Plus the prices are lower.

Pretty decent Chinese food in downtown Vancouver area! Congee Noodle Delight was my first eating spot after arriving to YVR. They were a little shop located inside the mall. Tbh, that mall was pretty dead and so was this place. That was our first thought after a quick overall look around. However, we did have some good experience dining here. They offered a variety of dishes on the menu and it took us quite a while to figure out what we really wanted to order. We ended up choosing dry noodles, congee, and wonton soup. And I thought we made some very good choices there. The noodles, BBQ meat, congee, and wontons tasted excellent. The only thing that I felt weird eating was the tendon. I usually had tendon in Pho and it tasted chewy. But here it was very soft and mushy. The flavor of it was good, I just thought the texture got a little weird to my usual. They currently accepted cash and debit only (US debit ok). They charged a small fee for to-go boxes. Their portion size was ok, and so was the customer service. Good eat on a cold, rainy, windy night!

Small congee noodle place I used to go to with my mom and grand parents. The pricing is very good. Most of the noodles and congee were under $10 each. They make the dumpling fresh in the restaurant. I ordered a fish ball soup noodle with hor fun (wide noodle) l. The hor fun was cooked well, it wasnt falling apart and the soup was hot. Great place to warm up in this cold weather. 10/10 would come again

Mushroom dimsum stuck to the basket and ripped apart when I tried to remove it from the basket. The fried squid was good w the spicy dipping sauce they paired it with. We waited approximately 25 minutes which is not bad at all considering how popular this small restaurant is. My mom is vegetarian and my girls had a wonton noodle soup lunch at another spot down the street. So we ordered a few things mainly for my dad, husband and myself: 1) Platter with barbecue pork and chicken (雙拼叉燒香油雞) 2) Half-order of roast duck (半隻脆皮燒鴨) 3) late of roast pork (燒肉) 4) Bowl of rice (一碗米飯) We cleared everything. The meats were juicy, tender, and flavorful. My girls are usually indifferent to Cantonese barbecued meats but they tried it and enjoyed everything as well. This is definitely a place to repeat if and when we revisit Vancouver.

They ran out of duck but do not fret because the soya chicken is where it's at. The soya chicken is incredibly tender, even the breast meat is tender. Secondly, it's perfectly marinated and if you dab a little of their homemade soy sauce, it's even better. Eat this with rice and you'll never want another meal in your life. This was easily our favorite dish for the place. Bbq pork and crispy pork are both spot on as well. They give generous and juicy cuts and the crispy pork is, well, crispy. The skin is a nice crunch and the meat is juicy, what more could you ask for? I still salivate and dream of the meat here and I wish we had something like this back in LA cause I don't know who else would make soy chicken as good as here. Cash only so come prepared! If you're a US tourist, they take USD as well but canadian is still the better deal.

Hei Hei Rice Roll is legit good, totally recommend, even my daughter too, I thought of her ( since she LOVES rice roll and couldn't make it on this trip with me) while enjoying these roll but when I shared with her the photos and mention that we will go back here with her- she already visited. She said it was so good! Hei Hei Rice Roll is located at the Richmond Public Market, oh wow - this place is really popular, on the 2nd visit I was the first in line then the line wasn't so long but while waiting for our order, the line got super long. I was lucky I didn't wait long in line. Best to arrive early. I am not sure what the secret to the rice roll but Wow, it's so thin, silky, smooth texture with the toppings, so great together. The last 2 times we had rice roll with my daughter at Portland and Seattle- followed per Instagram reels- those did not even compare to these rolls. My first visit I got the combo which is the best deals, starts at $15.50 but depends on what you select for the selection for rice rolls and congee. I got the pork & preserved egg congee, shrimp, mushroom, pork rice roll. The 2nd visit I got the combo again, with liver & preserved egg congee, scallop and shrimp rice rolls, but I got my order wrong for the roll- they missed the shrimp. fyi-I found out that bean sprout, corn, toppings are free! Both combo came out to $17. super cheap! Cash only, they take USD but its the same dollar $ value. I wish they take credit cards, hehe. & the Verdict: Yummy, the congee hits the spot for comfort food, loved how it is cooked and they add peanuts too. Love the packet of sauce for the rice rolls, the umami-ness, so good. Best to eat it hot and fresh! Don't forget to ask for chili sauce, to add that extra spicy kick! For now, I am not sure I'll ever find a spot that is closest to Hei Hei for my congee and rice roll fix until I get to visit Richmond, BC again.
