I'd like to start this out on a positive note and say the vibes were almost immaculate. A great place for kids and families, as it has a playground area, live music last night (Friday) and a stunning view of the lake. This place has an immense amount of potential to be the best restaurant around. Now for the rest... The service was some of the worst I've experienced in years. The waitress must've been having a horrible day because not only was she not attentive whatsoever, but I'm not sure she smiled once. Not to be too nit-picky but as someone who worked in the service industry for years, a little hospitality goes a long way. Our calamari got spilled on the way out and we never received the other half that we were promised (to make up for what was on the patio floor from the order). I get it, stuff happens, but at least be aware that your tables aren't being taken care of. Next, the food was borderline inedible. We ordered a bunch of different things from the menu. The kiddo had the mini corndogs and they were fine, as well as the potato wedges. The "flatbread" was a mushy, doughy, cheesy mess. Not what I'd expect AT ALL. The garlic parmesan wing sauce was pretty icky, as well. The Buffalo chicken sandwich was soggy and stale. The half of the calamari we were able to enjoy was pretty good, though! The deep fry cooks are good at their job but that's about it. This is longer than I intended it to be but, that's my genuine feelings. I usually don't have great things to say about service here, I love coming here bc of the playground for my son so I usually just accept the amateur service. We have been coming here for over a year, today being a weekend I really didn't want to come because that's the busiest and when the worst service happens HOWEVER. Riley was absolutely amazing. She checked on our table multiple times while juggling her other tables. Had the best attitude and such a friendly person, Riley definitely needed to train a lot of the other servers here especially when it comes to personality and table checking. This is the FIRST waitress I've actually liked and can appreciate her effort and great service. I am a server myself so when it comes to complaining you really have to just not know how to do your job to make me unhappy. A terrific spot for a pretty day. You just can't beat the view this place provides! On a busy day we didn't have too long of a wait for a table. Our waitress was very sweet, she was knowledgeable on the menu and quick to get our order in. I had a burger, she asked me how I wanted it cooked but unfortunately it wasn't prepared to my request. It was good but cooked unevenly so I didn't finish it all. Their fries are not my favorite, very basic but overall just a normal fry. I visited on a Saturday lunch time and the menu wasn't what I expected. It was more of a bar menu, maybe they had a different one for the evening? I had a Spinach Wrap and my friend had a Wedge Salad. We also ordered the Triple Dipper as a appetizer. I got 1/2 of mine to go and we didn't finish the appetizer. So they had good size portions. It was really packed so the service was good considering all the tables our waitress had. The Ambiance....PERFECT! We sat outside and the weather was perfect so we truly enjoyed the lake view. We went to Conroe Lake House for the first time, and we absolutely loved it. It is super kid friendly, pet friendly, and the food is amazing. The prices are unbeatable. Our service was impeccable, we didn't have to ask for a refill once! We sat outside as it was evening time and were able to watch our kids play as we listened to the live band (which was great)! The food was very mediocre especially for the insane prices, but what can you expect for being waterside. I ordered the shrimp cocktail and hubby ordered the fried chicken scramble. My review is mixed. I think this is a great place to hang out and bring the family. We went with adults and kids on a Saturday night in September. There is a play area which is great for maybe 5 and up. The kids on the play area are a bit older so my 2 1/2 year old was not interested rougher play. The band was really good as well. Great hangout place. The food and drinks are another story. I wouldn't come here for the food, it was mediocre and expensive. They tried to have high end items on the menu, but it wasn't executed well. I was kind of terrified I'd get food poisoning. The bar food items were good, chips and queso, chicken tenders etc. The drinks were interesting, cocktails syrupy and very strong. Tap beers were good. All in all. Honestly not sure why so many people seem to have had issues with this place, we genuinely loved the food! Plus, I want to keep a great place like this open around here, so I'm giving it 5 stars. The food tasted delicious - all of it! Was the presentation of everything perfect? No. But who cares? The brisket they put on everything is a perfect consistency, the bbq sauce is delicious, and everything makes you want to take just one more bite. We also got a few drinks - my dad in particular ordered a not-dirty martini and did explicitly ask for no olives/olive juice, and what he got was crazy salty - a super dirty martini. No big, we told the waitress and she apologized and immediately rectified the situation. But other than that, we really enjoyed it here. The macaroni tastes almost luby's-esque, that cafeteria-style that is very specific and delicious. Recommend! The space is really cool as well, a stage outside for performing, fire pits for colder nights, a play area for kids, and even a dog park/area. How can you complain about that? You can literally bring anyone/any family member (even the furry ones), and you're bound to have fun. Like I said, they're not perfect, but they're genuinely great. They also sat us by the back door were people were in and out and the door never closed so it was so hot. Great atmosphere. Very very poor service. There's no hostess outside but tons of seating so boats can pull up but they don't want you to just grab a table (even though it's the easiest thing to do). Then we didn't know this so we sat at a table and we're just ignored for about 30 min. We walked in to the bar to get our drinks but later when we wanted food we had to flag down a waitress who informed us they can't service us unless we are assigned by the hostess. Frustrating. The triple dipper appetizer was 10.99 for the portions you get it seems a bit pricey to me. The only thing I really enjoyed was the queso but to each his own. The menu had a good variety & the staff outside was on top of it, very attentive. It's good atmosphere and they even have a playground for children and a dog area as well. Another thing I liked about this place is they have a portion on the menu for dog food, they offer chicken and rice for the fur babies which is cool. The dos equis come in a can unless you order the margarita with one in it, then you get a glass bottle. We ordered 12 pounds of crawfish (priced at $7.99 a pound) and they were covered with spicy seasoning. You also have to pay for extra seasoning, melted butter, corn and potatoes. Overall the experience was 10 times better than when it was wolfies. You can still pull up to this restaurant on the boats and they have a pretty good sized parking lot. Well I had really been looking forward to trying this place out, the location and amenities seemed to be a home run setup. The day we went their AC was out but unfortunately this was never disclosed to us at any point. There were flys everywhere inside the restaurant, no airflow, there was standing water and wet floors everywhere. Bathrooms were so nasty that we decided holding it was the best option. It was all pretty yuck. But the 2 stars are because despite terrible working conditions the staff was amazingly polite and helpful - they were doing the absolute best they could with the mess they had to deal with that day. Food was mediocre. The fries are good, they have an interesting cut to them which was a nice change to the conventional fry style we are all used to. The mozzarella sticks are probably the hi-light of this establishment and they are amazing. BBQ tasted like a pot roast cooked with liquid smoke (just saying it like I tasted it ). I doubt we will ever return unless we get a major hankering for some awesome cheese sticks. The price and food quality just isn't worth it to me. read more

What a great location! We met some friends for dinner on a Monday night - this was my first visit and I loved the ambience, plus the fantastic location on Lake Conroe. They must have outdoor concerts because there's a stage right at the edge of the lake, near the outdoor seating. Tried the spiked sweet tea to start, and it was a bit too syrupy sweet for my liking. Next was the brisket grilled cheese with sweet potato fries. I enjoyed the sandwich but could only finish half - it's built like a club sandwich with one layer of grilled cheese on each end. The sweet potato fries were pretty good, similar to what you can make in an air fryer at home. My dining companions enjoyed the fried shrimp and I was a bit jealous, will try those next time. read more

We went here for the first time on Saturday with mixed results. The hostess was up front when she said the kitchen was behind and food was taking about an hour to come out. But it was a beautiful day and we decided to sit outside and just enjoy the weather while we waited. I appreciated the advance notice. We order two beers and the boudin egg rolls. The appetizer came out in about 20 min and we had put our lunch order in when she brought his beer. The egg rolls were delicious and a nice twist on boudin. We both enjoyed the dipping sauce. Thankfully I had asked for water as well since my beer still hadn't arrived. The problems arose when lunch came out, in about the hour estimated. I ordered a wrap, which was delicious, but my fries were cold. My husband's smokehouse burger was completely cooked - but also cold. Our waitress did check in with us, and when we told her the burger was cold, she immediately offered to comp the burger or have it remade. Given that they were packed, and we don't like to waste food, we agreed to let her comp the burger. While they seemed well staffed with servers and were clearly working hard, the kitchen either needs more staff or some time management training. I did eventually get my beer right as lunch came out, so that was fine, and our server was a very nice young woman who was really working hard to serve all her tables. Since we really only had issues with the one food item, we're willing to go back and hope they address their kitchen issues. Go to Sawyer Park for a better steak night experience Well I was excited to try out Conroe Lake House tonight and was extremely let down. We checked in just before 6pm and waited about 30 minutes to get seated no problem. Our waitress was amazing. Of course this was the first night for steak night were expecting the wait no problem. We ordered the triple dipper for the appetizer. I loved the green salsa that it came with. Sad that I forgot to take the rest of it. We waited a while for our food which also was expected however a large party was sat next to us and they got their food very quickly after only being sitting down for about 15 minutes. We ordered well before they were sat down. Our sweet waitress stated that our ticket was lost and that they were going to start cooking our meals. Ok no big deal. Five minutes later our food comes and it's not hot at all. My chicken fried chicken came out with no gravy. Buffalo Mac and cheese was simply Mac and cheese with hot sauce on top. Steak night dinner is said to medium well was like warm to cold. Mashed potatoes were ice cold and the poor lobster tail couldn't even sit flat. They definitely have some kinks to work out. Not sure I'll make the drive to the lake to find out if it's changed anytime soon or not but we shall see. read more

We were recommended Conroe Lake House for lunch while renting a boat next door. Definitely did not disappoint! Server was very pleasant and attentive, food was great with reasonable prices, and great ambiance with plenty of outdoor seating. Super clean bathrooms too (thank you!). There's a fenced in playground and dog area, as well as a huge fire pit and dock. Looks like they're in the process of building a rather large outdoor bar - it wasn't open yet. We arrived around 3pm and the place was pretty empty, but by the time we left, there were lots of full tables both inside and outside. We are visiting friends that live in the area and it was a wonderful ending to our lake day. We had the margarita flatbread (topped with shredded fresh basil and balsamic glaze) and mozzarella sticks for appetizers. The mozzarella sticks were huge (6 total) and came with a side of marinara for dipping. For our main courses, our party of 8 ordered shrimp on the barbie, boneless buffalo wings, pork chops, kids mac and cheese, Cajun shrimp pasta, cheeseburger with fried egg, and 3lbs of crawfish. Everyone was very happy with the food! The crawfish seemed to be a very popular menu item... lots of crawfish served to tables. I ordered the blackened shrimp on the barbie dinner platter. Delicious! Comes with pineapple coleslaw and rice plus 2 sides of your choice (I picked green beans and loaded baked potato--for bacon aficionados, the bacon was crispy and not oily--perfection). This dish was about $17 and it was so much food... definitely enough to share... my husband had the rice and coleslaw. Green beans and shrimp were on point - not over cooked. We stopped here for Sunday lunch. The wait staff was very nice. Each one seemed to have ALOT of tables to care for. The food was very good. Nothing negative to say about that. The seafood sampler was excellent. Lol! Cheese sticks are to die for.... However the mens restroom has to be some sort of violation. The door opened to directly expose whoever might be using the urinals. Which could not have been no more than 5 ft from the door. There are no barriers between urinals for privacy or to block waitstaff and customers from peering in as they passed. Which it seemed they all did. Simple remedy would be to put hinges on opposite side of door to block the view of the urinals with the door. Very uncomfortable!!! read more

SLOWEST service two times in a row. We love the ambience and food is ok but gosh I really wanted to love this place. First time food took 44 minutes to receive tepid. Not hot at all. We were so hungry we just ate it and lived our life. Tonight was 1 hour and 13 minutes and still no food. The waitress Helen offered to find out an ETA then disappeared for another 15 minutes. I decided to see if I could find out and went to find her and asked what was going on with the food. She just said "it's going to be a while, do you want to cancel or talk to the manager?" I said sure I'll talk. Never came to our table and we left. In fairness they were packed but this timeframe is unacceptable with zero communication. Just lost a customer. read more
