I called Controlled Comfort today when my AC died on me. It was about 115° out, and my house went from 72° to 85° in nearly two hours. I called and managed to get an appointment for the next technician available after their current appointment. Kyle, one of Controlled Comfort's managers arrived and easily found out that it was a capacitor issue. He replaced them both quickly for a fair price. Kyle was intelligent, obviously competent, honest, and didn't try to sell me on anything else (as so often is the case in plumbing, AC, or car repair). We had one of our AC unit condensers shut down because the capacitor that starts the fan went bad in the heat. We called the company we've used in the past for this type problem and they didn't pick up the phone or call back so we went down the Yelp list and found Controlled Comfort. They not only picked up the phone but in the middle of the 110+ degree heat wave indicated that they would fit me into their schedule because of us boiling hot in the house. They gave me updates of their arrival time through the day and into the night until they arrived at 8:30PM. You would expect that perhaps they would try to rip you off with an out of hours visit but they didn't. They gave a very fair price which was actually about $500 LESS than what a company charged a neighbor for a similar recent repair. I am so glad a friend recommended me to this company. This is the beginning of the busiest time of year for AC in Vegas. Most companies are swamped but they said they would would work us in if they could come by later in the evening. I was happy for the quick response. They kept us apprised when an earlier job would delay arrival by a short time. When Justin and Ryan showed up at around 8 and I learned they had been working since 7AM in hot difficult to reach attics I was impressed. I felt bad when I realized how difficult their job was because of poor placement of system in attic. Both technicians did a an amazing job after working a long day under less than austere conditions. I called Controlled Comfort recently when my air conditioning stopped working. Fortunately I have 2 units on the house. Girl on the phone made an appointment for me for the next day at 1 pm. He arrived at 2 pm but did contact me that he was running late. When they came, they went on the roof and in a few min came back down and told me that my fan motor was bad. He did not have the part with him but said he could do a repair temporarily until he came back with the correct one. That way it would work till he got back. It did what he said and then came back a few days later and finished the repair. Good service and nice guy to do all that. read more

This company was our assigned contractor via AHS. I requested service back in June and it is now the middle of August. This is the 4th time that they came out to my house and every single time, they just dismiss our concerns. They schedule through a four-hour appointment. They either wait until the last minute to come or don't even show up at all. On the fourth time they came, they tell me they need pre-approval from AHS for something that AHS has covered in the past. This "senior tech" Dan says he saw a lot of denials from AHS when it comes to the fan that was replaced and covered by AHS before with no problems at all. He even said to just cut the fan out completely. That the AC would work better without that fan that only Pulte installs. So long story short several service requests later, nothing has been done. This is my 3rd service request with AHS ever since I've had them and this is the first time that I have to deal with a very unprofessional company and their equally rude employees. Their senior tech Dan even said, "unless you are willing to pay the bill then I cant fix it". So for the nth time, they came out here and did nothing to fix this. If this is your senior tech, wow! Way to represent your company! Oh one thing too, there was a lady who called me before the appointment and started lecturing me with how they book their appointments! Hahaha! I just laughed, I don't need to know how your booking system with your techs work so if I got caught in the middle because your tech scheduled his own time to come out without your knowledge, nowhere in that scenario, warrants a rude lecture from you. I've had ups and downs with this company, but they finally came through. I have a Trane air conditioner installed by another company. Over the past two years, and several service calls later, the unit's compressor would occasionally shut off for about 2 hours which was probably overheating. The house has two units, and the other one is just fine. I had the original company come out for 3 service calls when this happened 2 years ago, but they could not fix it. I contacted Trane, and they recommended Controlled Comfort. The initial problem was that they said they would be here several times, and they didn't show up when they said they would. Mine was not an emergency, so I really didn't mind if they rescheduled as long as they called me. They did not call me at least twice so I waited and they didn't show up. When they did finally show up, they did a very good job of looking at the unit and even called the Trane engineer for advice. I had a repair that reduced static pressure, but the intermittent problem persisted. They never saw the compressor not working because after a couple of hours it would start working again. I went back and forth with Ralph several times because the only way to get service on my limited warranty with Trane was to have a certified service provider validate the problem. It took a few months going back and forth, but finally Trane agreed to a compressor replacement which was just installed. These guys are technically very good, but their customer service and follow-up could use a lot of work. The last couple of times they came out, they were on time as promised, so maybe they've worked on this. It is unfortunate that I had these customer service issues or I would have given them 5 stars for their competence. I will give them another chance if I have other HVAC problems because they are far more competent than other companies I have used in the past. read more

Honestly I wouldn't in good conscience even give them 1 star, but because that's the only way to do this, I guess I'll go with it. I was assigned this company by my home warranty. Im unbelievably upset. Without going into too much detail, this company has poor customer service. They use I am sorry like its going to repair my system and get their techs here. My tech both times was more than 2 hours late. The first day, 2 hours late and his equipment was faulty and then rushed the job and didnt do it properly. The second time they were to come out, he never showed and the office couldn't tell me when he would be here. Both times I had to call their office to find out the ETA of the tech. They never called or kept in touch with me. They just kept telling me I was next. (Insert eye roll) Went with my regular AC company who came out the next day first thing in the morning and fixed the job that the tech, Greg did incorrectly. He wired my brand new compressor incorrectly and I was two pounds low on refrigerant. Even if I were a paying customer I would never use this company again. Absolutely mortified! read more

They are one of the worst ac company I have ever encounter. First of all I've contacted my HSA insurance on Friday and they referred Control Comfort to come out on Saturday. I've explained to them that it's not cooling and making noise. They send a tech out sometime between the time frame 12-4. When the tech finally came out he was restricted to go up in the attic to check if something is wrong there. We've notice that the line was froze up and there might be a leakage up in the attic. Since he can't go up I have to wait another day for another tech to come out. ( Did I mention I told them I have a 16month old and an 83 yr old in the house. And this is vegas heat during the peak summer of 115degree.) so, when the tech came out on Sunday, I've explain the situation and he kinda refuse to listen since I'm a female. Now when he went up in the attic, he took pictures of what's wrong and what need to be replace. I've contacted my insurance to expedite the authorization for the ac to be repair and they inform me that they have not received the diagnoses from the ac co. I've contacted the ac company to follow up on the status and they schedule my repair for the following Wednesday. I've asked the receptionist that will they be repairing the ac or are they going to come back and make more excuses to take more picture for the insurance. She informed me that they will be making the repair. Wednesday came along and I've called to see what's the staus on the repair. The receptionist informed that the tech will contact me prior to arriving. Finally the tech came and I'd noticed he didn't have his bag. I was about to asked is he going to be doing the repair and he received a phone c@ll from the office and she told him to basically lied to us about taking more pictures and get out of there. I was so pissed off and manage to spoke with her. BS excuses later and we were able to get a schedule for the repai the next following day (Thursday) at 12pm. Not between 12-4pm but at 12pm. Once we hang up with the personnel I've received an email regarding invoice. So my mind was like what the F. Contact the office back and then asked again what is this all about. She informed that my insurance does not cover some of the parts. But we need to pay the invoice before th3 repair can be done. At this point I was ready to start cursing the living daylights out of her, but managed to contact my insurance (on hold for an hour) and check the status of why they weren't paying for the repair. Since control comfort needed money they put on the diagnosis code "modification " ins does not pay for that. Many minutes later I went ahead and just pay for the invoice since my baby was getting hot and cranky. Thursday came along, repair was coming along fine but 4 hours into their repair, they couldn't seem to get the coil in place. The installer were very nice and explained that they have to come back the next morning (friday) to finish up the repair. Friday morning came along anD I haven't been getting any sleep, they showed up around 9:30am. 15 minutes into work, one of the tech cut himself and needed to be stitched. I wasn't aware until my husband saw the camera footage and notify me of what's going on. I've waited about an hour to see if someone in the office will call to update the status if I was going to get my ac repair. Finally the lead tech came with another installer and I wanted to make sure if the previous installer was ok. They proceeded to repair. And hours later, I've got another bad news. They weren't able to repair the ac because the part is not compatible with the unit I have. The office failed to order the correct part. Now I'm with no ac again. Going on a week now. I don't know at this point they will return to finish the job or not. Did not received a call from the office if they are sending another tech over or not to repair and replace the missing part. I'm not mad at the installer but frustrated with the correspondence and lack of communication. Since my ins is not the best, they tend to put other ins top priority. Even tho you have a newborn, baby or elderly, which ever ins pays the best, that's top priority, never never never again will I ever use or recommend this company to any one. ( did I mention that my family and I are sleeping in the living room for over a week now?) never have I encounter this situation before read more
