    Sweet tea # 2
    Laura S.

A solid 2 inches of sugar in the bottom of each of our teas. Parts of the sugar were still almost dry. It's like it was dumped in prior to ice and tea being poured in. When I called to complain the manager said he doesn't see how that could be possible, maybe the bottom of the urn... no this was literally a solid two fingers of pure sugar. I'm not one to complain but this is absolutely disgusting and seemed intentional. My fiancé literally got choked when he tried to take a sip.

I grew up in Greensboro and this was the Cook Out I used to go to when I was a kid. Coming back to NC after 16 years I was really looking forward to coming back to Cookout especially since there aren't any in California. I was extremely disappointed by my spicy chicken sandwich, the patty itself was really thin and dry. The customer service was not great, I was ask to hold at the drive thru speaker for over 5 minutes with no updates and a line of cars behind me. I was really hoping to get that nostalgia feeling eating here again but it was really a big let down.

Cajun chicken sandwich plate... Enough said... Just dropped the mic as I drove off. Can you beat a plate with 2 sides for $5?

While many may angrily protest these claims, I find that the subtle use of Texas Pete (a staple in my diet) and the warm bun compliment the perfectly smoky flavor of the pork.

I ordered through Uber Eats, so I can't fairly rate the atmosphere or service. This review is based…read moresolely on the food. I ordered the Daddy's Philly with a side of pesto pasta salad and banana pudding. The Phily was really good. It came loaded with cheese, mushrooms, onions, bell peppers, jalapeños and Garlic mayo on a soft bun that wasn't soggy or stale. I was a little surprised because, despite the jalapeños, I didn't find it spicy at all. I love garlic but I think I would prefer regular mayo to the garlic mayo. Compared to other cheesesteaks I've had, I'd give it a 7.5/10. Instead of fries, I chose the pesto pasta salad. The pasta itself had the perfect chewy texture, and I honestly wanted to keep eating it. Unfortunately, it was too salty for my palate. I could only manage a couple of bites, which was disappointing because the texture was amazing.....like how do you get your pasta to that texture, spill the beans! Haha For dessert, I tried the banana pudding. It was good, but it wasn't my favorite style. I personally prefer banana pudding that's light, fluffy, and silky. This one was much thicker and heavier than what I grew up eating, so it just wasn't my preference. Overall, I enjoyed the meal, especially the Daddy's Philly. Of course, everyone's tastes are different, so these are simply my personal preferences. I'd still encourage you to give it a try and decide for yourself. Ciao for now!

The turkey burger was also a standout- juicy, well-seasoned, and generously sized. While the truffle fries were soft rather than crispy, they were surprisingly delicious and full of flavor. Even during a busy time, the wait was very reasonable, making for a smooth dining experience. There was plenty of convenient parking, and the staff was welcoming and friendly from start to finish. I would definitely return and highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for an outstanding meal.

The service isn't going to be in and out as this isn't a large place with lots of wait staff. Expect to be here at least an hour. They have Coors on draft (nostalgia for the Mr.) and tall boy PBRs. Not your thing? Don't let that deter you bc they are one of the few places I have seen who has Old Rasputin on DRAFT. Those not familiar, this is a Russian imperial stout by North Coast Brewery out of Ft Bragg, California. Something I haven't had since... well, I lived in California. Personally, one of my favorite stouts. Beer not your thing? They have an array of specialty contrails and some solid liquor choices including buffalo trace's limited purchase bourbon (eagle rare/ blantons). Food: the Brussels, sandwiches, and salads looked amazing (neighboring patting got those). We split a few things: Brisket: nit the best I have ever had, but solid choice. Maybe not for the $, but it was fall apart brisket. Wings: these are crispy fried with sauce on the side. A little hard but good. Not my favorite. The poutine was by far a favorite with the melty cheese and the gravy was delicious. We also had the street corn and with the lime was pretty good as well. These 4 things were plenty for the 2 of us with a little extra. We didn't mind paying the extra because of the experience. I did about die of heat, but I should have put a hair the in my bag and wore a skit or just not jeans. We will definitely be back.

They have games, pool tables, darts, basketball, arcade machines, outdoor seating, and a welcoming setup that makes it easy to hang out for a while. The staff was very friendly and accommodating from the moment we arrived. Our total wait time from sitting down to receiving food was about 21 minutes, which felt reasonable considering drinks and appetizers came out first. The deep fried crab balls were delicious, and the fries were cooked perfectly. For the wings, we tried multiple flavors including Atomic Buffalo, Sweet Chili, Lemon Pepper, Teriyaki, and Jerk. The cook on the wings was excellent -- crispy without being dry. Some flavors stood out more than others depending on personal preference, but the Sweet Chili and Teriyaki were favorites for our table. The ranch was also really good, which definitely matters with wings. Overall, the atmosphere, service, and food made this a fun experience and we'd return again.

The wings had a lot of flavor and were a little spicy which I liked. The pretzels were delicious. The cheese sauce was the only thing that could've been better. We also got the garlic cheese curds and they were SO garlicky and cheesy. I was really impressed with those. My mom got the taco salad and she was really impressed. It comes in a taco shell which is a nice touch and they definitely didn't skimp on the ingredients. My favorite thing about this spot though was the vibe! We ended up there on karaoke night which was such a nice treat. They were doing a karaoke competition and had a panel of "judges" which was so fun! Our service was really good too. It seemed like a lot of people were regulars but everyone was super nice! Definitely a fun spot to grab a drink and a bite to eat.

I wish I could say that it was worth the wait, but my experience here suggested otherwise. Positives first: Noor is both spacious and stylish with plenty of seating in both the bar and dining areas. Sujan proved to be an attentive and courteous server. That said, the buffet was somewhat underwhelming. It was smaller than those I've found elsewhere in the area. While it offered a solid mix of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, those offerings were the epitome of playing it safe. Only the hakka noodles (not always an Indian buffet staple) and butter chicken (better than average) really stood out. Nothing else, from the tandoori chicken to the daal to the naan, was prepared poorly, but it was fairly forgettable. Granted, buffet food needs to appeal to a wide range of diners with varying levels of spice tolerance, and so I went in not expecting any heat. Take spiciness out of the equation, however, and the flavors still felt subdued. At least the $20 seemed reasonable for what was offered. It's possible that Noor really shines if you order off the regular menu, and so I wouldn't rule out a return here. The next time I want a weekend lunch buffet, however, I think I'll stick to Taaza.

Downstairs with numerous rooms, massive bar, and a whole upstairs for events, birthday parties or work and staff outings. One of the best cocktail, bourbon and overall drink menu we've seen at an Indian restaurant in the area. Huge props to the bartender for making an excellent Oaxacan Old Fashioned. It was so good I had to have 2 ;-) The food was a bit mixed. Amazing samosa and butter chicken. Dipping the naan into the butter chicken and adding some raita on top was a flavor bomb in each and every bite. However, the chicken lollipops were very dry and tough to chew. I can see these being amazingly tasty had they been cooked properly. The chana masala was a bit mixed as well. The chickpeas melt in your mouth with excellent texture, but the dish overall lacked a little flavor. Again, something with a few tiny little tweaks would make it a 5 star dish. A great touch at the end though. The owner came by and asked if we wanted any dessert. We both said we were stuffed and couldn't put down any more food, which we really were. He insisted on bringing us something small. And boy were we pleasantly surprised. He brought over Gulab Jamun (milk powder fried soft balls soaked in honey and cardamom syrup). Man these were tasty! First time we've had them and now we are huge fans. We'd come back just for these.
