We love to go here for breakfast! They have some of the best pancakes I have ever had, and their skillets are perfect if you're looking for something filling. The hollandaise does cost extra, which is a bummer, but it's tasty and you get a lot of it. We've always had good service, as well. Another of ABQ's mainstay diners! I am never disappointed with Copper Canyon. My son and I had lunch here last week and the soups are great!. They are all made in house. I had Green Chili Chicken Tortilla and my son had Cream of Broccoli. The cup/bowl of soup and half baguette sandwich is light lunch value...but for the big appetite, get the Mega Burrito...its my go to. OR try a Cob Salad. I often split one with my wife...they're big. The wait staff is always friendly and accommodating. Oh, almost forgot! Its lent..their All you can eat fish fry on Friday is one of the best I have ever had. The fish is hand battered in house. Nothing really unique about the place. You could be eating at any mid-grade franchise eateries found all over the country. It does have the typical New Mexico fare which are fairly generous proportions. Copper Canyon Cafe is a great place to grab breakfast, lunch or dinner, and the wait staff and owner/manager are some of the friendliest people in Albuquerque. We have been eating there for the past 10 years, and the atmosphere is casual and relaxed, while the food is some of the tastiest in town! My mother recently passed away, and the entire staff generously made a donation in her memory to her church. They also placed her named on the sign outside for a week. I don't know any restaurant that would do something like that. For our family, we will be lifelong patrons of Copper Canyon Cafe. Thanks! read more

This place is great if you like breakfast burritos and are hungry. If you are in a hurry I recommend calling in a take out order of a "handheld" burrito. This thing can come with eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, hashbrowns, green chile, cheese, whatever you feel like. The contents are cooked (with butter I think) and placed in a huge tortilla. Its the best breakfast burrito around (even better than dos hermanos, the frontier, or golden pride). Not something you want to do everyday as I imagine each one of these is around 1000 calories. I forgot to mention the best part last time I got one they were still under $5. This place also has good food if you want to sit down for breakfast, but if you are hungry and you don't have much time the handheld to go a must. read more

This is one of my favorite places to get breakfast, we drive from across town juat to eat here. The staff is friendly, promt and attentive. The food tastes great and the chile is tasty. The ambience is decent, there seems to be an older crowd that eats here which is nice, its never really loud. Really good food and great service. I had the steak and eggs, and they were glad to substitute the toast for biscuits and gravy. We came to Albuquerque for the 2015 Balloon Fiesta. While staying in town for a few days, we tried several places for breakfast, but the Copper Canyon had everyone beat hands down! The food was prepared perfectly, and was very delicious. The portions are large, and the value is very good for what you get. Our server was very warm and friendly, and made you feel like you were a regular that came in every day. We got one of their delicious homemade cinnamon rolls to go. I had the green Chile chicken cream stewart and if was the best part of my meal. Now don't get me wrong, the tuna sandwich was good but the most memorable part of my meal was the stewart. I have lived in the area for 9 years now. I have never been to this place. About a month ago a coworker said it was good. Decided to try. My first server, Lydia, was very helpful and on point! She made a recommendation and my food was delish!!! It's now my Friday lunch ritual between clinic and office. The sandwiches are amazing and the fajitas are pretty good. Breakfast is about the same as anywhere else. Try and sit in Lydias section! She takes good care of me and I know she'll take good care of you! Prices are decent and all the staff are generally nice. We have eaten there many times, but I keep forgetting to review it. Usually it is after a trip to the nearby VA for exams, tests, lab work, etc. Today was no exception. My wife had a small outpatient procedure that required no eating after 10 PM last night. She wasn't released until 10 AM and we were famished. On to Copper Canyon. One of the breakfast specials today was a Country fried steak with two eggs, hash browns & toast. Choice of cream gravy, red or green chile. We both opted for that Special; hers with scrambled, hash browns and wheat toast, mine with over easy with papitas and a flour tortilla. They were very busy, with several large groups gathering there today. The server, Michelle, apologized for the anticipated wait. Turned out not to be too bad. My wife had asked for both green chile & white gravy. But she got red & green, but no white. Michelle quickly fixed that. I had opted for just the green. The steaks were a huge 8 oz, enough for a hearty lunch. Well, it was almost 11, so I considered it to Brunch and dug in. The steaks were tasty, but a little chewier than I expected. Green chile was just right: "New Mexico MEDIUM." Red was good, and so was the cream gravy. I ate my food, except for the potatoes. More than I should have eaten, but it was delicious. My wife gave up half-way through and took the remainder of her steak, the hash browns and a container of green chile home. read more

My office has ordered take out from here a number of times. Every time there has been a problem. A few people have become sick from the food. Today I ordered a shrimp caesar salad with avocado. I like the food here, and the staff is really friendly too. I used to be a regular until I heard the manger lady with short hair yell at the wait staff one to many times. It was embarrassing and uncomfortable, I always felt bad for the people who work there. No matter how good the food is I won't spend my money where I know people are treated like that. She should be ashamed of herself and whoever her boss is (I think the man who comes out of the office up front) should be ashamed of letting someone treat employees that way, especially where customers can hear. read more

I have been a semi-regular to this restaurant for years now. I used to come in with my late husband after his appointments at the VA hospital located across the street. The food is always good, almost everything is home made and it shows. It is also affordable and the portions are HUGE. It is an inviting, comforting atmosphere and that is what makes it so special. The service however comes and goes depending on the server. There is an older mexican female server who was friendly and attentive the first time she served me but every time since she has been rude and the service was horrible. Same thing with the young girl with long blonde hair, sometimes she is friendly and attentive and other times complete opposite with horrible service. I think it's because she spends 20 minutes at some tables and neglects the rest of us. There is also a guy with short blond hair and he gives sometimes good and other times bad service as well. However, there are other servers who consistently give great service and it wouldn't be fair to not recognize them just because they aren't doing something wrong. Jamie is fantastic and was my husbands favorite server (that's why I know her name). Also there is a young girl with short red hair and highlights who is kinda spunky, she is always in a great mood and gives consistently great service as well as a younger girl with a piece of her hair shaved short she is fantastic as well. Oh and an older lady with short hair who I think is the owners wife, she usually gives good service too....she's not as consistently good as some of the others but still a good server. Once I learn the rest of their names I will post again so if you visit Copper Canyon you will know who to ask for so you get great service! read more
