Not gonna lie, I will be devastated when I have to move away from Coppertail. Not only is the location itself awesome but the local beer sales are less expensive than other Florida breweries. If you are only looking for beer, just look no further than your local grocer for the Coppertail staples. I'm partial to the Night Swim porter, but you might also find some of their small batches in stores, like Sorcha O'Sullivan or Supervoid (^￢^). As a fan of high-octane dark brews, I have to say that the pistachio Supervoid is my favorite, but I recently tried their Ahti rum-barrel tropical stout and OMG. It's a steal at the brewery for $15/four. If you stop by for food, try their new buffalo cauliflower to start. With the newly revamped kitchen and menu, you can pretty much not go wrong. Most recently came here after going to Columbia Restaurant - love the close proximity to downtown Ybor. Some beers I've tried: INDEPENDENT (PILSNER 2/5): I know IPAs are all the rage, so they masked this Pilsner as one & really hoppy, not like a traditional Pilsner that's neutral with little hops - the in-laws just arrived from Germany, so they were both disappointed as was I. FREE DIVE (IPA 4/5): Not an IPA drinker, yet it went so well with jerk chicken pasta from Yah Mon! NIGHT SWIM (4/5): Sweet chocolatey goodness! Very popular & a local fav! A lot of seating from outdoors to the inside and even a second story (lots of space)! I love the fact they have electric scooters stationed in front of their spacious parking lot. This will probably be my new favorite beer destination. The in house beers are fabulous...I tried the sampler with Pax Odeon, Hop Skull #5, Captain Jack's Stone Crab Stout and of course Unholy which I've had before and love. They were all great but I think I Pax Odeon may be my new favorite. There is also a decent wine and cider selection which I may try next time. Atmpohere is also a hit...the bar area is large and the place is well air conditioned and pleasantly dark. Rock music is not too loud, etc. Servers were friendly and helpful since this was my first time. Food menu is limited but its appropriate for a brewery and diverse enough. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with cold lentil salad, mainly because I wanted to try the lentil salad to compare to mine. It was mostly things other than lentils, like chickpeas, veggies but still good. The chicken sandwich was delish and overall the meal was a fabulous value. read more

Very impressed! Stopped here for lunch after a soccer game. We did not have any beer so we can't rate the beer. The food was excellent. Our favorites were the smash burger, the pulled chicken sliders and sausage platter. The pulled pork sliders were ok. The chopped salad was excellent and the white balsamic dressing was a new fresh option. The wings were solid. They are smoked then fried. You get 4 whole wings. The sausage platter had 3 types of sausage, plated beautifully with sauces and pickled veggies. We will be back for sure you try more items. Also the beer. A great spot! read more

This is a really cool place! Big, open brewery with outdoor seating both downstairs and upstairs. They also have food which is great. I've come here twice now. The first time I ordered the vegan burger with fries and waited maybe 15-20 minutes for our food to be brought out, and when we got it, it was cold :/ I was pretty disappointed by this, but it did have good flavor. I am too shy and awkward to have asked for another one/ for it to be heated. Anyway, I came back this past weekend and had a better experience. Ordered the hummus and the vegan burger again, this time with the garbanzo bean salad on the side. The burger was hot, with a crispy bun. It was really good, and I really enjoyed the salad as well. The hummus was absolutely excellent, I'd highly recommend. The service was good both times, friendly and as speedy. I'll definitely come back again! read more

Coppertail is one of my favorite breweries in the Bay Area. Their crafts are amongst the best that Tampa/STP has to offer. The only minor downside is that seating can get tight on weekends when the upstairs portion isn't open. This visit was my first visit where I actually ordered food. I ordered 12 of the baked BBQ wings and they were awesome. Each wing was hot and bursting with flavor. My only regret was not ordering 16. I highly recommend trying the wings and know I'll be back to try the other flavors soon. read more

Being a private school girl from beginning to end, everyone knows tha Lord be present during all craft-brewing related activities. Can I get an Amen ? I went to almost all of the breweries in Tampa and was completely taken back by this spot when I really wasn't expecting it. The craftsmanship, decor, location, and service are all so on point, I just kept ordering flights and thanking tha Lord for the alcohol percentage in each half Pour. I totally respect this brewery after having visited and sampled all their brews. Definitely the unsung hero of the Florida brewery scene for sure ! Chose copper tail for my birthday in august and had the best experience. I've been drinking your beers for years from Publix but it was my first trip to the brewery. I loved the kolsch that was on tap and Unholy and Cloud Dweller are classic beers, among the best in Florida. I had a Philly cheesesteak that we still talk about how delicious it was. I'm giving 2 stars because the beer and food is great. I get the Grouper Tacos every time I come and they never disappoint! However, the service is awful. I moved to Lector85 2 months ago and I was so excited that I would have a brewery in my backyard. Since, I have been to Coppertail a total of 4 times and every time I was disappointed. I gave them more than one chance to prove themselves and unfortunately time after time it was the same thing. Being sat at the bar one would think it would be easy to get a drink or be able to order food. There is constantly employees walking around, in and out of the bar, etc. The employees just look at you, sometimes takes up to 30 minutes to get another drink another 30 minutes to order food and another 30 plus minutes to get your check. One time I even had to ask the bar back boy if he could please take my order. (Even though I know that's not his job). I can also sympathize if it was busy, but that was also not the case. I had really high hopes for this place. Like I said, I live across the street and I would be here on a weekly basis if the service was improved. It was a Friday afternoon and the place was jumping. The upstairs area was closed so it made the main bar area really crowded. I pulled up to the corner of the bar and order the Trippel, Unholy. This beer was really good. I then opted for the Stone Crab Porter that was a little too heavy on the coffee flavor. Finished with the Night Swim porter that was better than Captain Jack. I ordered a basket of wings since the smell from the other patrons made me hungry. These are really excellent wings with meat and fried just right. I got the buffalo sauce ones. This is my second visit to Coppertail, and I can't think of a single thing I dislike about it. It's a pretty sizable brewpub, with both indoor and outdoor seating and a parking lot. Food is tasty and the beer is great. I ordered a beer flight and took it upstairs. They have a vast array of beers for every taste. I think my favorite was the Yonder Beer, which I believe is a collaboration. I also really enjoyed the Captain Jack's Crab Stout. Tasted like a nice oyster stout. Breweries can't get any better than this. First things first the beer at Coppertail is out of this world. They have their core four (Unholy, Night Swim, Wheat Stoke, & Free Dive) that they always have and the rest of the beer list is always rotating depending on what they are making and tapping. They update their menu daily. Guest taps are also a thing at Coppertail where they showcase a few beers from other breweries. The atmosphere of Coppertail is modern yet rustic, very warm and inviting but also cool and edgy. I think the art is what really ties everything in so well. For those that are really into the art they do have merch! (Shirts, posters, etc) The Staff at Coppertail is amazing as well. Tours of the brewery are available for a little more than the cost of a single beer & you get a free beer anyways. They pour a few beers on the tour that they are working on and you get a sweet Coppertail glass. The tour is totally a steal, what you get for the price makes no sense but that's what makes this place so awesome. (I've done the tour twice because why not?) Coppertail also does cool brew events, growler specials, special keg tappings, mini pop-up flea market events, and always have new beers to try. You can usually always find a good food truck parked right outside but I also heard that food is coming soon which is the only thing Coppertail doesn't have. I'm excited to see this place continue to grow over the coming years. read more

I hosted a private party for my husband's 30th birthday in the upstairs loft this past weekend and it was perfect. The venue is unique, clean, and very spacious. We had roughly 35 people so it was very roomy between the loft and balcony. The food (& beer of course) were delicious and many guests complimented it. Planning was a breeze with Alexis as their communication was clear and timely in the weeks before. Having a private bartender upstairs was a treat. All the staff were kind and accommodating. I've been here more than a few times, always for a drink or two. Not even sure if they serve food here, not gonna lie. So if they do, this isn't the review to read for that! This bar is a stop on the Brew Bus tour, a Tampa favorite that runs a regular dedicated route stopping at 6+ bars. I love a good IPA and I love Coppertail beer. You definitely get that "I'm supporting my local community" feel when you buy it at the store instead of a Corona, Heineken etc. And it's better! The armosphere here is very nice. I stopped here after a run to Ikea, it's right across the street. Definitely a great place to get off your feet after walking around a too-accurate-for-comfort showroom depiction of suburban dystopia. I had an IPA which was brewed using blueberries. It was great. I usually have the Free Dive IPA when I stop by but I can get that in stores so I tried something new. Wasn't disappointed. All in all another great stop by Coppertail. *EDIT* Forgot to mention you can get 32 or 64 oz growlers to go. Very convenient if you like their beer but don't have time to sit down. read more

I'm going out on a limb here and saying that Coppertail Brewing, so far, is my favorite brewery that I have visited in Tampa. I had not heard of them before moving to Tampa, like Cigar City, for instance. However, their location in Tampa is perfect and every time I have have been here, I liked all the beer I tried. Other places have hit or miss beers. Coppertail, good beer across the board. We have been here a couple times since moving to Tampa. The brewery is also pretty busy but we never have a hard time finding parking or a place to sit once we are there. They have a cool atmosphere and plenty of room. The staff is always friendly and they have food which I haven't tried yet but heard it's really good. You don't always find high quality beer and high quality food in these brewery settings. The Coppertail Bewery is the way to go if you're looking for a different restaurant experience. Last night I went around 6 pm. There is a large parking lot but it was filled so I ended up parking across the way in a grass parking lot. Tables are inside and outside and you seat yourself. It is a busy place but I don't think that you'll have a hard time finding a seat (on a weekday atleast). You order your food at the bar. I ordered the Juicy Lacey burger. The burger was really good and pretty huge! It also comes with delicious tater tots. It was $9 total. I also ordered a 7pm tour of the brewery. For $7 you get a beer at the bar, a souvenir cup, drinks along the tour (I'll talk about the tour later), and sample drinks during the tour. The beer I ordered at the bar was the night swim. I definitely recommend if you like the taste of coffee. Overall everything I got was delicious. As for the tour it was well worth the $7. Seeing the brewery and hearing the backstory is really interesting. Also you get beer "samples" which were basically half the size of your souvenir cup. It was a lot of beer. Definitely a great deal and something different to do. **Another great thing about this place is that they have card/board games that you can play while you eat. We ended up playing several games and had a lot of fun! Pricea aren't expensive, atmosphere is fun, and the food is great. Overall it was a great experience and I will definitely be back. read more
