It was a Saturday afternoon and just finished a tour of IKEA, dang...their dining area was mobbed and even the hot dog stand was a wait. Got in the car and went to maps, low and behold just feet away was this place, thank god. It was tough getting parking but did. Walking in through the front doors and your greeted with a view of the brewing vats (see pics). The place was at capacity and open tables were hard to find, inside. We were able to get two seats at the bar. Better yet. Quick to order, quick to serve. I had the Cloud Dweller, wife ordered the Florida Special. Hers was an american lager, lighter. Dweller is a hazy IPA. I ordered the burger and wife Nashville chicken and she is from Nashville and says of all the places down here that claim to have NC, this has been the best so far. Finally made it to Coppertail Brewery, which has been on my list for awhile. Great beer selection (tried the Chocolate Stout and the Synonym Roll), a variety of food options and good service. The lamb tacos had really great flavor, but they were served lukewarm (likely sat for too long), but everything else was perfect. Highly recommend Coppertail for an event. 2 years ago my husband had his office Christmas party and it was fantastic, the food was good and the staff was great. Just last weekend we had our daughter's engagement party in their event space and again I was blown away. Stop in before heading to the Improv. Tried a similar place in Sanford, Fl and really enjoyed the food and craft beers so wanted to find a one close to home. Coppertail did not disappoint. Good variety of craft beers and menu items. The pretzel and cheese sauce is really good and the fish spread. We ordered a Flight which allowed us to sample different beers, this way you don't order a full glass of one thing to find out you don't like it. No TVS which would be a plus to what they have going on, but without TVs allows good conversation with whoever you're with. read more

We hosted my dad's 70th surprise birthday at Coppertail Brewing, and rented out the loft for 3 hours. Alexis, the event coordinator, was so helpful with all my questions, and helping to plan the event. She was very quick to respond over email as well, which made the planning so much easier. We had about 50 guests, and the venue was perfect (although it can hold a lot more). Everyone loved the catering we ordered. Fan favorites were the deviled eggs, french onion dip, pork taco bar, and BBQ flatbread. Portion sizes were very good as well! Coppertail didn't have a food and beverage minimum either on the day and venue that we reserved, although their prices were very fair (and I reached out to about 8 different breweries and venues). The staff that helped out the day of the event was wonderful as well. There was never a wait at the bar, the food buffet was always replenished, they helped with set-up for the projector and mic, and even packaged up the catering leftovers so that we could take everything home. If you're looking to throw an event, small or large, definitely reach out to Alexis and her team at Coppertail Brewing. You know how there is a song for certain moments and places that you reminisce about? Walking into Coppertail reminds me of a dream with it's eclectic murals and one of a kind artistic hardware. I appreciate that kind of thing. Where else am I going to see swan faucets and fish shaped lockets? I just can't think of what song.... Alright, decor aside, the vibe itself in here is chill despite the confessional in the corner. The beers are excellent and the darker porters are decadent, almost dessert like. The Blueberry Donut is my favorite. Too bad there isn't a take home option for this brew. The food pairs well. I got the sausage board and I loved the accouterments that came with it. I would love to return and try some of the other drafts as well as some of the other food. They have some cool merchandise as well. Love the logo, a C shaped mermaid tale. Oh yeah, and that song? After an exhausting trip to IKEA, we stopped by Coppertail Brewing for some refreshment and food. Our servers, Emma and Dom were very engaging and friendly and made our visit very pleasant. The brews were great and the food was far better than I expected. I had the chopped brisket philly with the sweet potatoes and it was really great. Coppertail is one of my favorite Tampa breweries. They always have many of their own beers on tap. Something for everyone. The tasting room is beautiful and large and they also have a very nice patio area. Some of my favorite beers are Night swim, Free dive and of course Unholy. They are located right on the outskirts of the heart of Ybor city which makes it even better and more quiet. They are open daily at 11am. They also have a kitchen with their own delicious food such as wings, buffalo cauliflower, sandwiches and tacos. They make great beer. All true to the styles. They are widely distributed but it's definitely a better experience to come to their tasting room and have a beer and some yummy food. read more

Coppertail was a fine stop for a brewery. But here's the thing, it was about 80 degrees on a sunny day (albeit unusual for a December Day) and we were sitting outside on their patio area. The overhead fans were not on and the sun was boring down on us. A great incentive to drink cold beer, but really made for a not pleasant visit. Assuming warm days in Tampa are not "unusual" I was a bit surprised at how "unaccommodating" the outdoor area was. No shades or blinds or anything? We were traveling with a dog so outside seating was where we could sit and they were very welcoming to our canine friends, brought some water for them in a nice bowl. My beer was very good, a sour Nitro Creamsicle, very refreshing (did I mention it was hot?...). We ordered the Fish Dip which was Saltines (as promised) and a scoop of fish dip. The pickled Jalepeño was the best part of the plate which for $11 was okay. read more

Just moved to Tampa and this was our first night going out to a brewery/restaurant...and let me just say Coppertail set the bar extremely high! What a great spot! Service was wonderful, food was absolutely delicious, and the beer...my girlfriend and I had a flight each (4 beers in each flight) and EVERY single beer was good. I don't think I've ever been to a brewery where that was the case. If I weren't full from the food and beer...I think I would have actually tried all 20 beers on their menu. It is seriously that good. If you haven't been, you are missing out! My personal favorite was the "bean-yonce" which I believe was a Florida Weiss that had both coffee and beer flavor! The unholy is one of my favorite beers. I love the 9% ABV and the smooth flavor. I haven't visited since Stein and Vine was here and seems like a different kitchen concept is now in place. We ordered the pretzel with pimento beer cheese. The pretzel was huge and the sauce amount was generous. I love the interior of this brewery. I recently held my Navy retirement ceremony and reception at Coppertail Brewing Co., specifically in their Event Loft. It was an outstanding venue in a great location with plenty of parking and an amazing staff. The beer is excellent, and they also do catering. The food was absolutely delicious. Everyone loved the smoked french onion dip and chips, buffalo cauliflower, and pulled pork sliders. The loft also has its own bar and bartender which is an added bonus. The relaxed ambiance of the facility is another reason why I chose this place. The event coordinator, Alexis, was great and easy to work with too! I had been trying to get to Coppertail for a while. I missed them on my last visit to Ybor city so I made sure I caught them this time around. They are definitely off the beaten path, located in an industrial area of Ybor. They are about a 15 minute walk from the main strip on 7th Ave. I wish I could say my visit started well, but it didn't. When walking in they didn't have bar seating which is good because of Covid, but they did have a hi top which I took. And before I get too far into this review, I really loved the music they were playing. I usually put my head phones in because a lot of breweries pump the west coast grunge music. This was contemporary r&b, I was surprised to hear that much j cole at a beer spot. I was feeling grateful. As I had been walking here and arrived hot I wanted to dive into some flights. Unfortunately they are not doing flights now. They will do samples, but I am sure they have some limit because on my fourth sample I was starting to get that feeling that I might be over doing it on samples. Still though I chose to trudge on. Flights are such a good way of sampling everything without getting sh!@ faced. If I did a 12 oz pour of everything that I wanted to taste I would have passed out on the table. I wish they could have just done flights in the plastic cups. I would have been glad to pay for them. Just a suggestion. Still though, none of this was a deal breaker. They have great beer here. My server was Kristen, hope I got her name right. She was very attentive, but everyone there was very attentive. They gave great customer service. I felt a little bad for Kristen, because I came in hot and thirsty, a little grumpy and they didn't have flights nor the pig wings both which I was looking forward to. The Beers: (they are priced very reasonably between $5 and $8 for a 12 oz. Pour) Tried all 3 sours, Sunken Grove gose 4.3%, Purple drink Florida weisse 3.5%, Passion Trove gose 4.2% ... they were all good. Of the 3 though I enjoyed the Purple drink the most. Hoppucino...coffee IPA 5.9%... it was surprisingly decent. I liked it. 4 Bridges... wheat beer with blood orange 5.6% ... got more of a rind taste from the blood orange, but it was still very good. Captain Jack's Stone Crab Porter was the first full pour I tried. It is 8.2% and deceiving. Most drinks with the higher abv, give themselves away with an extra bit of sweetness. This one though was like any other stout, not syrupy like I have had before with the higher abv stouts. It was really good. Unholy American Trippel 9.2% was m second and last full pour. It has a very interesting flavor. You can taste the banana clove spices but also the hops. It sounds like it shouldn't work, but it actually does. And it tastes way better from the tap, as opposed to a bottle pour or can. Glad I didn't skip this one, because I have had it many times. So Coppertail has a great beer selection, IPAs, Belgian, sours, stout, porter, wheat ales, a pilsner and kolsch. They also have wine and the food it very good. If you like good Craft beer and cool ambiance, I would recommend them for a visit to the Ybor city area. read more

We came here last month for some brews and a quick meal and Coppertail was pretty good overall. Our flight was tasty and paired well with our food. The buffalo cauliflower was very tasty and I could have eaten a double portion and my shrimp tacos were decent (honestly good, but not great). My wife got some wings and she liked the flavor, but the wings were a bit dry. There's plenty of space here for small or large groups and they had hockey on a projector, so it is a good place to hang out and relax. There's also plenty of parking, so it's an easy place to visit too. It's a nice brewery overall with decent food and we'd visit again. read more
