Something has gone wrong at this restaurant!! It used to be very high quality and consistent. However, a recent dinner was most disappointing!! The trout was not prepared properly and nothing was outstanding. Considering the prices, we were most disappointed!! The service was slow: we had to ask multiple times for our drinks we had ordered... not sure what has happened here but I can no longer recommend this restaurant!! We came here for lunch during a conference, so it was reserved for our entire group which was nice. The atmospheres lovely it gives you a sense of being outside with all of the beautiful windows and beautiful views. This would be a great date night restaurant. Thanksgiving dinner 2020 was a bust. 1:30pm reservation and less than twelve guests and the meal came out barely warm, salad dressing ruined the greens as it was overpowered with apple cider vinegar:-(, and the cranberry sauce (the star of a Thanksgiving meal) was so tart we couldn't eat it. (Needed Sugar--understatement). So disappointed we asked for our desserts to take back to our room only to find a sliver of pumpkin filling set onto of a half inch pie crust. Ate only the whipped cream and pumpkin as the crust was bland and too much. (If you're going to go BIG with the crust make it a little sweet!) Guessing the chef is not a fan of sugar. Service awesome and ambiance beautiful. Chef missed the mark on the traditional Thanksgiving plate--I recommend ordering the beef or fish option! read more

CORE Kitchen is certainly doing some nice things and is using high quality product. The setting is beautiful, yet understated and the service has always been pleasant. I've had the pleasure of enjoying dishes ranging from truffled scallops, to duck breast, to NY steak, to Bison, and they all have been solid good dishes. One of the super stars is actually the complimentary starter they offer, which is pork rillette served in a mason jar with delicious crispy crackers. And the cornbread in their breadbasket is quite addicting. This is the perfect place to take a mini escape from Tucson. My boyfriend and I love coming here just for that reason! It's not too far, but once you set foot on the property you're transported to another place where you can indulge in delicious food and all the luxuries the Ritz has to offer. For us, the best part of the experience, is that the overall vibe at this particular Ritz property is low-key and unpretentious. It's luxury sans snoot! read more

This is not your typical resort dining establishment with sky high prices, snooty service, and uninspired cuisine. I was expecting the standard resort shtick, but I experienced something else entirely. The atmosphere was gorgeous, we weren't seated right on top of other diners, the staff was friendly/prompt/knowledgeable, and the food was excellent. Beautiful setting and decor. Wine selection was very good but somewhat CA centric. The food was not as good as expected. Maybe we should have gone with the waiter's suggestions... They brought out a complimentary starter that consisted of pulled pork that was cooked in its own fat. Very heavy on the fat. We split the roasted beet salad - very good. Then we had the duck breast and rockfish. The duck was very fatty even if you took the skin/fat layer off. The rockfish came in a few pieces. One was pretty rare and could have been cooked more. The other pieces were fine. Accompanying vegetables etc were good. We'll go back, but will order different items! read more

Had a family wedding dinner here and was very disappointed by the food. The service was up to par but they forgot what sides the bride had chosen to come out with with filet option. We spent $300 on pretty much the worst meal ever. Fatty, griselly rib eye that I literally spit out in my napkin. Flavorless blackened cod. The kids cheese pizza was good which is the best thing I can say about this place. I'm so disappointed and embarrassed. Took my husband on a trip here from San Diego for Father's Day. We were expecting ritz carlton quality and pretty sure that we would rather have eaten at Taco Bell. Absolutely Devine! My husband and I went to Core for date night. We were seated at a table looking out at the mountains. The waiter was very good- knowledgable and friendly. He made me a mocktail with fresh fruit and mint, and I loved it, ałthough finding out the charge was $9 was a little hard to get over. My husband had Pinot noir, which he said was very good, and $20 a glass. We shared the colossal shrimp appetizer, which was absolutely colossal. Think shrimp the size of a steak. The grilled romaine with real caesar dressing was delicious, and complimented the shrimp perfectly. We both had the filet for entrees, cooked to perfection and melted in your mouth. Much better than I've ever gotten at Sullivan's or Flemings. It came with sautéed spinach with fancy mushrooms, onions, pine nuts and cherries. Also very delicious. We ordered the truffle mashed potatoes as well, and believe you me, you do not want to miss those. The service was great, our water glasses were never empty, the empty plates weren't on the table for longer than a minute, and we were still able to have great conversation without too many interruptions. My husband also got dessert- something with little donuts and coffee flavored creamy something, but I was too happy and full to pay much attention to it besides that he definitely ate it all. The final bill was right around $200. I think next time we will go for just entrees or just appetizer and dessert, not so much to reduce the cost as to thoroughly enjoy each bite with getting overstuffed. Go. Eat. This was our first Resturant when we arrived. The table for six was located by the fireplace and was awesome. Unfortunately the size of the table was hard to carry on a conversation because of the noise and the age of our guest. The menu was limited so do not expect too much. The food was amazing. We looove this place and go often for special occasions due to the price. I am so excited to do the wine tasting/pairing with tastes as well ($20). We are going there tomorrow to try for the first time to celebrate our anniversary. Service is the best and views are amazing even from inside, but patio is best. They do have a happy hour as well which is good and mock-tails are very good. I had one with sage and grapes in it like a mojito and I have not forgotten it. Wine is a focus here as the name indicates so definitely ask the sommelier for a recommendation. We also love to stay here whenever we can afford it! And the food! Nothing is bad. I brought my mother here for Mother's Day brunch and it was wonderful from start to finish. Not your typical holiday resort brunch, I admit I was really hoping for prime rib (they served rack of lamb instead)... but there was plenty enough goodies. Everything was delicious though some items that should have been hot (ex. eggs benedict) were cold (hence the 4-stars). Had dinner last night, and it was probably the best I've had in Tucson. Wonderful atmosphere. Quail appetizer and scallops appetizer were perfect. The short ribs were the best my husband and I ever had. The sea bass was also very good, although my husband was not as happy with it a I was. The wines by the glass list had just been changed and the selection was well thought out. The service was excellent, although I guess the serve from the left and take from the right is no longer a practice, as I've never seen it in Tucson. Everything I tried for breakfast was perfectly prepared with amazing attention to detail. Even the fresh berries (that were out of season) were flavorful, sweet, and delicious. Best French toast I've ever had! Perfectly crisp bacon. Pure, organic maple syrup. Outstanding granola offered with additional toppings like toasted coconut, dried strawberries and cherries, pecans, sliced almonds, and agave lime Greek yogurt. Ruined our Anniversary Really expected better from the Ritz. This was planned months in advance so you would have thought the staff would have communicated the plans. Clearly they had not as the special cake that had been ordered was not known by the waiter. It was nice to start with a glass of champagne. After that we ordered the Steelhead Tartare. It would have been a good dish if the onions used in it were not so overpowering. For our entrees we shared the Roasted Vegetable Roulade and the Butterfish. The Roulade was soggy and lacking flavor. Some seasoning would have been a great addition to this dish. The fish was a good preparation. For dessert a special cake had been ordered that was raspberry cake with lemon frosting. The cake itself had some red color if that is what they define as the raspberry and the frosting was hard and no lemon in the flavor. It was terrible. The coffee was served lukewarm and after telling the waiter a hot cup did not come until after we were finished with everything else. A month ago we visited Toro Bravo in Portland for a birthday dinner. Every dish there was superior to the Ritz Core offerings. Generally I do not expect much from a hotel restaurant, but the Ritz has a reputation and should be able to make a special dinner a joy. The management apologized for the experience, but you cannot fix this type of experience by providing a free breakfast the next day. Even if they did not charge a penny for the meal it would not bring back the day. If you have a special meal planned find another place. read more

There is not much one can complain about at the Ritz Carlton Dove Mtn. Resort, The staff's service is impeccable, I decided to take an afternoon drive to tour this hotel for my friends an I to spend 2 spa days here in the future. It is a beautiful setting an everyone is very helpful from the concierge to the cocktail waitresses. I decided to dine in the Core Restaurant after having a delicious Prickly Pear Margarita and enjoying the Native American Flautist playing over looking the back of the resort pool. It use to be a Ritz Carlton tradition to have high tea around 5:00 PM, however they now have a waitress show you how to make their specialty cocktail of the day instead. Anyway my service was excellent from my waiter Michael in the dining room, I tried the butter fish with a beet an arugula salad, as he suggested. It was just okay, not flavors I prefer, so for me not so great, the salad appeared somewhat wilted as well. However I will definitely return and try other dishes. read more

Stayed at the hotel over the past weekend and had breakfast in Core. What a great experience in so many ways; a wonderful buffet for breakfast; great ambiance and views. I would give it five stars if it werent' for the server. She was cold from the start and just seemed out of sorts in greeting us. My wife asked for coffee and juice. She never brought the coffee and then after the initial meeting and bringing the juice we never saw her again. Kind of surprising...but still enjoyed the restaurant. read more
