My friends and I had dinner here last Saturday night. We made a reservation for 11 people. When the reservation was made there was no mention how separate checks would be handled. When we got there our table wasn't ready which wasn't a big deal because all of our party wasn't there and they said they would not seat us until everyone was. The host and hostess were not overly friendly but I didn't think too much of it at that point. Once the table was clean they did seat us even though we were still missing a few people. The service was a little slow, but they were busy and we were having a nice time visiting with each other. When it was time for our second drink, 3 of my friends were drinking seltzers. The waitress did not ask them what flavor they wanted. They assumed she would bring them the same flavors they were drinking. She showed up with 3 random flavors and then acted annoyed that my friends did not want what she brought. Our food came out and was very good. I got the schnitzel blt and it was so good! The fries are real hand cut fries and also very good. When it was time to pay the waitress informed us that we were not allowed separate checks. She said she could take 3 cards and split the bill 3 ways. She said we should have been notified when we made the reservation. Once again she had an attitude for something that wasn't our fault. I loved the atmosphere of the restaurant and my food, but the waitress was very rude and had a bad attitude the entire time she waited on us. I would definitely come here again as I will not let a couple rude employees prevent me from giving a restaurant a second chance. read more

Tonight, ther was a large group of older adults who confronted their staff after being asked to leave. The staff handled it very well and kept the rest of the patrons safe. Aggressive with staff (throwing drinks and food). Incident was quickly shut down by chef and bar staff keeping the environment safe for all. My wife and I stopped in after a concert and we're really happy we did. This was a night where we basically asked our bartenders to take the wheel and guide us to great food and drinks. Everything we ordered was a recommendation from our very friendly and knowledgeable bartenders. The Dubliner cheese was a great appetizer, the smoked chicken tortellini was incredible, and the Irish waffle bomb dessert was the perfect finisher. I made a reservation for a Friday night, I was excited to try this place. There is Greek street parking which we found a spot Jo problem. We were early and able to be seated so it worked out well. We had the calamari and doner kabob. Both were very good and recommended to us by our waiter. The food comes out very fast. In total from the time we sat down to payed the bill it was 40 minutes. While exploring downtown one recent weekend day, we decided to grab lunch in Corktown. I jumped onto Yelp to see what was nearby and that we hadn't tried yet, and Cork & Gabel popped out. We were close and it had a parking lot, so we made our way in. We were promptly seated on the enclosed back porch. Throughout the meal, service was a little hard to come by, maybe because of our location. In any case, we both decided on the Gravlax Salmon Benedict. It seemed like the best of both brunch world: eggs Benedict + Lox, both of which are favorites of mine. While we waited on our food, the area was deserted enough that we danced to the music overhead with our toddler to keep fussing at bay. I was pretty disappointed in the food. All of the flavors seemed overpowered by something super salty, and I couldn't tell if it was the spinach or the sauce that was too salty. I really couldn't taste anything else in the dish other than salty, which was frustrating. It was good but had potential to be better. To start, we had cinnamon rolls. They were good, warm, and not overtly sweet. I had the salmon Benedict. The salmon cake was seasoned well and crispy. However, the poached egg was a disappointment. One of the best parts is cutting into the egg and mixing the runny yolk with the rest of the dish. The egg was extremely overcooked and solid. Also, if the English muffin underneath was toasted, it would have been helpful and made the dish easier to cut. It was nearly impossible and I used my hands. The side of hotsauce I asked for (which waitress said was made in-house) added a wonderful spiciness. It was thick and well-balanced. The side of bacon I got had an extremely smoky flavor that was overpowering, I was not a fan and couldn't finish it. My friend had the chorizo bowl. It was decent but tested like a sweet chili and lacked the chorizo "punch." Finally, I had a gin drink which was sweet and smooth. Atmosphere is unique- modern and rustic meshed and it works. Came here for brunch after a bachelorette party and it was my first time. The decor is very cool, the entrance is a little graffiti room. The biscuits and gravy were amazing! They were able to easily accommodate our group which was initially meant to be 12-14, and only 8 showed. No hassle, no stress. The servers were helpful with our food selections and drinks! [This meal occurred pre-COVID] A friend suggested this place in Corktown, for an early dinner. I arrived early, uncertain about the parking situation. Luckily, I was able to find a spot by the door, on the street. But I worried needlessly as there is a lot behind the restaurant. The restaurant is a few city blocks from Slows (as a reference) and sits near the breathtaking Michigan Central Train Depot (as another reference). While we chatted and remarked on the recent changes in the neighborhood, we were treated to a view of the same neighborhood during the golden hour. What an amazing sight. The entrance of the restaurant is an oil drum from a neighborhood recycler. That is not the only item recycled on the property. The fence around the parking lot and patio is from the Mt Elliott cemetery. These tidbits were found on the last page of the menu which also included a proposed scavenger hunt. The restaurant hid four items within the space and encouraged guests to look for them. They are a St Pasqual figure, a coffee mug, a large milk carton, and an Easy-Bake oven. The restaurant is cavernous, with high ceilings and rafters, industrial lighting and accents, and brick walls. The bar occupies the center of the space and bears a distressed look. The menu includes some Irish fare and includes piog an aoire (Shepard's pie arancini), Dubliner cheese, and Irish boxty potatoes (pancakes). We started with the wings - I tried to eat around the skin so that I could enjoy this treat without the guilt. The wings were meaty and flavorful. I had wanted the steak (protein) without the boxty potato (no carbs) and extra veggies, but they were out. Instead, I went with the grilled chicken breast with mushrooms and extra broccolini, no mashed potatoes (again, no carbs). I neglected to read the menu that carefully and did not realize that the chicken would come with a substantial amount of beurre blanc (butter) sauce. Flavored with Prickly pear, it was delicious, but obviously not part of any healthy diet. My friend's burger looked amazing. It was topped with both fresh mozzarella and fried Dubliner cheeses, bacon, and caramelized aioli. She replaced the French fries with mashed potatoes. The burger was so large, she could only have half. I gave an extra star to recognize the terrific service we received. Our server was friendly and engaging. She made us feel welcomed and made the visit extra fun. Did we find any of the items of the treasure hunt? Yes, but only the coffee mug. I made reservations for ten (10) at 5:45p for my mother's 75th birthday. Once the majority of our party arrived, we were seated. The consensus among our group is that the food and drinks were excellent. The only (minor) complaint came from my 10 year old daughter who did not like the caper and pickle remoulade that came with her fish & chips. (And they don't have tartar sauce.) I cannot say enough good things about our server, Ariana. She was friendly, patient, and took great care of our party. My friend and I came here for brunch because there wasn't a wait. The guy on the phone was very friendly. It's located in Corktown and I honestly really liked the building. I thought that it was really cool and I wanted to know the history behind it. The entrance was slightly confusing, but it's a big heavy white door. The menu was pretty limited. They were out of many items, but I was mostly upset that they were out of the vegan sausage. The waitress was nice, didn't make much convo. My friend ordered an iced tea thinking they'd have Splenda, but they only had regular sugar. They should offer something for people who can't consume regular sugar. My friend didn't drink it. We both ordered an omelette with peppers, onions, and cheese. It came out with potatoes, which was a nice touch. We were really glad that it came out so quickly. It tasted pretty good and I liked the hot sauce too. I just wish the ingredients were more incorporated with the egg because they kept falling apart. We were in and out.
