I definitely recommend making reservations in advance to eat here. Cork N' Cleaver is a busy restaurant. They are busy for a reason, because their food is wonderful. The prices were very fair for the quality. Most restaurants of this caliber to charge more. My wife and I both got the filet and they were both cooked perfectly. The sides were also great and flavorful. We both got the salad bar and certainly recommend it. It's a very high quality salad bar. We got the lemon cake for dessert and that was also a wonderful decision. Cork N' Cleaver is a fancy restaurant that is perfect for any date night or celebration. Easy 5 stars.

One of wife's favs, stopped in for dinner during the week. Usually a good experience but a bit rough this time. Had mushrooms for appetizer, wife had prime rib and I had almond crusted walleye. First off, wife's drink sent back with instructions to help. Then, steak came, no steak knife. Had to go and get one. Walleye was not very good. Vegetables overcooked and fish was flavorless. Sent it back. Enjoyed the salad bar. Waitress was disappointing. Two tables in station but hard to find her and fake Barbie smile was insincere. Manager did stop by about the walleye and removed charge from check, which was appreciated. Total check was $89 with walleye removed.

This is my go-to restaurant for a special occasion! The food quality and service are always good! You get what you pay for, literally at this place. The salad bar is the best one I have ever had in my life. Would always return for another fancy dinner!

Cork N' Clever is the place in Fort Wayne for a good steak. During my most recent visit, I found parking in the main lot challenging as always, yet the bar at 7 pm on a Summer Saturday was surprisingly not busy. Maybe everyone was away at the lakes or choosing to sit at tables in the restaurant. Both bartenders behind the bar were fun to chat with and so positive while making drinks. Cork N' Clever has an extensive wine list, but I opted for a French 75. If you haven't been here before, you'll probably be surprised when they hand you the menu - it's engraved on a heavy clever. Another unique and fun aspect of this restaurant is the salad bar. There are cold bowl plates for your salad along with items to add like caviar and jelly beans. I'm still not sure where to put the jelly beans on my salad, so I wish there was a separate small bowl you could put your jelly beans in. For dinner I had a 7 oz. filet and Brussel sprouts. They were probably some of the tiniest Brussel sprouts I've seen, but the favor was good. The steak was cooked perfectly, but the presentation of the entree was a little lacking. I took leftovers to go and was given a Styrofoam box. I know this is pretty normal in the Midwest, but it's not the most environmentally friendly.

Brick walls with arches, open kitchen, fantastic salad bar! Service comes along the level of the pricing. My friend had the walleye he said this about it, it's got all kinds of textures and flavors with potatoes, brussel sprouts, and peppers. It's wonderful! We ordered off menu and got crab cakes dinner. I don't think I've ever had a baked crab cake before. It was a very interesting flavor. Definitely fresh crab and very good. Both dinners came with a salad bar and we added a $20 unlimited salad bar. It was more than we could eat for sure. The salad bar was everything I love about a salad bar. So fresh. We will definitely be back.

Good, not great... First time at Cork n' Clever, which is supposed to be considered a "Fort Wayne Original"... While, it was okay, it certainly wasn't worth $185. The restaurant is dated and had an 80s throwback vibe (80s elevator music literally playing in the background), but was clean and well kept. The service was good and prompt. As for the food, nothing to write home about... The crab cakes were okay, but nowhere close to the crab cakes at Ruth's Chris (and definitely not worth $18 for two puny crab cakes). The best part was the salad bar, which was awesome... It was very fresh and had many options. Our steaks were cooked very good to order (medium rare), but they were not seasoned well, if at all. We've never had to salt a steak at a steakhouse, but our steaks were bland and required it - Pretty disappointed with that. By and large, Cork n' Cleaver was alright... Not as good as Don Hall's Gas House and the food is grossly overpriced.

I've heard about this place from my fiancé and others. They're not kidding about the menu being served on a cleaver. That's gnarly. First time here! Enjoyed the bacon wrapped artichoke hearts, coffee pepper crusted ribeye w/ blue cheese butter and teriyaki filet mignon w/ garlic butter. Also...if you have room in yo belly, order the mud pie. It really is a nice treat to share for 2-4 people. Our waitress Amy was so kind and candid. Highly recommend bringing people out of town here or treat yoself. Life is too short, enjoy! Overall, the ambiance is cozy yet romantic. We sat next to the fireplace which was a nice touch. Background music is soothing too.

The menu is printed on a metal/wood meat cleaver. So unique!

As a seafood lover, I was sold just based on the name alone The building itself is pretty cool. We were told it dates back to the 1880s and is the 2nd oldest building in Indiana behind some other one in Indianapolis. You can definitely feel the history when you walk in. The place is small, with only about 14 tables, and everything is packed in pretty tight, but that's part of what gives it character. The old bar immediately grabbed my attention and looked like it hadn't changed much in over a century We started with the Parmesan baked oysters, which were outstanding and surprisingly fresh for being in the Midwest The homemade clam chowder was loaded with clams and flavor. It was so good it didn't need anything added to it. We also ordered a couple of smoked Old Fashioneds that were a great way to start the night I wanted sea bass, but they were out, so I went with the walleye fish and chips. It's honestly hard for me to pass up fish and chips when they're on a menu, I'm glad I did. The fish was well-seasoned and on point My wife went with a seafood combo that included seafood au gratin, bay scallops, shrimp, crab, applewood bacon risotto, and baked in a lobster creamy sauce Being in Fort Wayne for just one night, this ended up being a great find. The food was excellent, the service was friendly (Shoutout Lindsay) and the whole place had a nostalgic feel that made the experience even better If you're passing through and in the mood for seafood or live locally, I'd definitely recommend checking it out!

This. Soup. Will. Slap. Your. Tastebuds. I wanted to go back into the kitchen and crawl into the soup pot and swim around. It is soo tasty!! The flavor is bold and the cheese is thick and what a cheese pull! My mouth just watered at this! We also had a pretzel bread. It came with delicious, sweet cinnamon butter. We loved it! For our main, we ordered the steak medallions and mushroom risotto. People...... The steak was cooked PERFECTLY! It was so easy to cut, and it melted on your mouth. The seasoning was delicious! The mushroom risotto was the perfect consistency--creamy and scrumptious goodness. This dish is PHENOMENAL!!! To finish, we had a warm, moist, and delicious carrot cake with cream cheese icing, caramel drizzle, and topped with walnuts. There is cinnamon ice cream on the side. We were so happy because most times, carrot cake we order out is dry--but THIS cake was TOP NOTCH! Megan, our server, was kind and prompt. She kept our drinks filled, and she did an excellent job at timing things to come out to us. Baker Street Steakhouse is a MUST-have restaurant in Fort Wayne. You won't be sorry for going.

These were cooked to perfection. Melt in your mouth goodness! The seasoning was amazing! Very delicious. The only issue was the one long strand of hair on the edge of my plate. I spoke to the server about it to make sure better care is taken in food prep in the kitchen. She said she'd talk to the manager. Husband received a free birthday dessert. Big Eyed Fish on Wells Street - when you have a craving for Fish & Stroh style fish and tarter…read moresauce Yes, I know that I could go to Stroh to get this old time flavor. However, Big Eyed Fish is pretty good fish in its own right, local...and flavored like the taste I remember from the past. We visited the Big Eyed Fish location on Well's street. They have an express shop located on Huegenard Road and another dine in location at Leo Crossing. This location has been in service since 2003. It has a nice diner feel with super friendly service. You can find parking on the street or in the lot behind the store. The inside is rather large and works well for parties up to about 8 diners. There is a small bar and TV's if that is your thing. They also have a big and varied menu including breakfast items. Here is a run down of the food items: -Fried Fish: the white fish fillet is thin and fried with a thin breading. The fish is moist and tender. It will flake apart with a fork or by hand. The breading has a slight amount of seasoning and isn't very oily to taste. It has a taste similar to the Fish & Stroh style if you are familiar with that. The fillets are not very filling. For an extra $3...I went with the all you can eat option. Delicious fish! -Tarter Sauce: I love tarter sauce. In fact I might order fish to go with my tarter sauce - lol. This mayo based sauce is reasonably thick, somewhat sweet and has a hint of pickle flavoring. It's creamy and makes a perfect complement to the fried fish flavor. -Baked Beans: this side really surprised me. The bean is small and contained hamburger pieces. The sauce had a slight BBQ flavor but not enough to classify it as a BBQ baked bean dish. The meat flavor was a nice add to the smooth tomato spiced sauce. Delicious!! -Cole Slaw: I kind of use KFC as the standard for Cole Slaw. This is very similar. The slaw pieces are cut very small with only one kind of slaw. Seemingly no additives - just slaw. The sauce is mayo based, a bit more sweet along with a hint of vinegar. I loved this side too! -Hush Puppies: these balls are pretty small in diameter. The inside is very modista and sweet with that southern style corn bread taste. The outside is thicker, a bit oily to taste and has a mild corn bread taste/texture. These are probably some of the best hush puppies I've had in my southern raised life.

Me, always a sucker for good French onion soup (pictured), which I always order with no bread or croutons. Broth has authentic rich flavor with just the right amount of simmered onions. The only thing that might have made it even better would have been the use of Gruyere (or Swiss, instead of what seemed to be mozzarella) for the cheesy melt topping the delicious soup. Our chosen entrees tonight were the cashew crusted Mahi Mahi (pictured) served with orzo and fresh green beans, and the seared tuna (pictured) served on an umami blend of Napa cabbage and broccoli lightly dressed in sesame ginger, just-right heat, and peanuts.
