Awesome selection!!! Came across this place by chance today and was delighted by the choices, for beer, wine and spirits!! I found Japanese Whiskey which I've never seen in the states before, stuff that's even hard to find in Japan! I don't purchase spirits too often but saw a lot of stuff I've only previously seen in restaurants but not sold in retail big box stores. The beer selection is also amazing, and I love that they have a lot of local brews like Beachwood, Ballast Point, Strand, etc. And then there's the wonderful wine room in the back. I found a few bottles of stuff I haven't seen at my local stores, ended up buying a Quicksilver Nickel & Nickel, looking forward to opening that :) As some other reviews say, pricing can be on the higher side for some items but A) that's expected for boutique stores and B) on average for most items it's just 3-5% higher. And for the items that you cant get at your local big box, i don't have a reference point and i also don't mind paying a bit more ;) The girl at the cashier today was super helpful and cheerful, so customer service was wonderful as well :) Am looking forward to be back again!! read more

Me and my friends were so excited to get our drink on, it looked so cool from the outside. So disappointed!!!! As we were walking in, we hear someone say "is that a service dog??!" In the most annoying high pitched voice. First of all, my little 3 month old dachshund!!! Aka my little son! Was kicked out. Well if you're not gonna allow dogs in your store, maybe having a sign clarifying this rule would be a good idea. And even better idea is firing the chick in the front. CORKED is a new and revamped wine, beer, sundries, and spirits store formerly known as Liquor Town. The interior is pleasing to the eyes with bottles laid out nicely throughout the aisles. It has a much classier look than the general liquor store. New owners definitely have taste. Great wine selection from many places. Imported and whatnot. Awesome workers who are personable. It's located smack dab in Bixby Knolls where First Friday's take place. I didn't take any photos as my phone battery died. But I plan to revisit... I have wine bottles to buy for gifts and or parties! I plan to provide a better review. Parking can be limited in parking lot but there definitely is street parking! I'm not saying I'm the authority on Bottle shops and liquor stores however I have frequented my fair share of them. This location is in my humble opinion one of the best in Southern California hands down. This is a family owned and operation, however you would think it was managed by a Fortune 500 company as they have every detail polished and refined. Sam and Wes have curated one of the most impressive collections of beer wine and spirits that you could wish for. The wide selection is impressive but the ambiance of this location is equally thought out. The exterior is clean and well signed. Upon walking in to the establishment you can see that they have spared no expense and the attention to detail is pervasive throughout. It really feels as if you have just walked thought the door of a bottle shop you might find in a high end casino in Las Vegas, minus the overpriced bottles. Which leads me to this, Corked is very conscious of their pricing and their competitors they are always fair and finding new ways to bring value to their customers across the board. In case you couldn't tell I am a fan of what Sam and Wes have created here and I would Highly recommend that you check them out for yourself. I am a local of Orange County but I make it a point to travel to Long Beach on occasion to see what new items I can find at Corked on Atlantic. Been meaning to see what Corked was all about. I have to say I was really pleasantly surprised by the selection offered and the level of service provided. The store looks somewhat smaller on the outside, but it's fairly spacious and they've managed to get in a lot of selection of beer, wine and liquor. Pricing is on par with other similar stores, sometimes a bit more and sometimes a bit less. They do have these red tag specials that can be pretty affordable. They also have a chilled beer room and a wine cellar. Definitely don't be shy to ask for help. The guy helping me was super informative and helped me pick out items for myself and to give as gifts. Phenomenal selection and place looks great, but prices are INSANELY marked up for nicer bourbon. I get that secondary prices are a thing and you want to make a profit, but wow. Was just trying to take a closer look at prices and wanted to show my friends the selection, so sure, I pulled out my phone. Man who was working the counter who didn't bother to even look at us throughout our browsing the rest of the store abruptly said, "Sir, no pictures". If that's store policy, maybe you should have signage that indicates that. Clearly trying to hide the fact that their prices are absolutely ridiculous. I even went back outside and looked around the store to see if I made an honest mistake by missing any signage about this policy. Completely off put by the rude attitude and prices. Honestly, this is your one stop shop for all of your alcoholic beverage needs. It's like... Bevmo who? I live right down the street and have been coming here for a few months now. They have a wide variety of alcohol from top-shelf specialty items to the usual liquor store finds. The staff is very knowledgeable and will always steer you in the right direction if you can't decide! I don't really smoke cigars but I know they sell them here as well. But honestly, I'm leaving this review because Sam and his family runs a great establishment and certainly go the extra mile to make sure you find what you're looking for. Shady business owner. Stay away. Bought a $43 bottle of Canard champagne but it was a flat bad bottle. We called the next morning and the owner said "he would take care of it." We explained that we weren't local and couldn't come back until the next week. We drove all the way back with the intention of changing out the bottle and buying more, but owner decided to be shady and said he would only give us $20 credit for it because we didn't have the liquid. No didn't keep flat champagne for a week- we told him this on the phone. Save your money and go elsewhere. Either this guy doesn't know how to store his products to avoid them going bad, or he doesn't understand wine. Some times you get a bad bottle- but any reputable place would make it right instead of being greedy and ripping customers off. read more
