We have gone to this place a few times and I've really liked going there. This is the first review. The staff is great, they have a nice menu but this last visit I was a little disappointed in their Wednesday special "fried chicken" the coating/batter was disappointing in both taste and texture, and the chicken was just ok. They had told us that this chicken was better than KFC in taste and value, Sorry I'd rather go to KFC in the future for chicken. We had a wonderful Christmas Eve Dinner with Family and Friends! Dana gave amazing service to our group. I was really impressed with how she and the staff took care of the restaurant with another parties kids running around creating chaos. Parents really need to control their children. We have given this place a chance 4 different times now. We really wanted to love this place since it's walking distance from our home and gave off the "local" vibe. However, this place makes me question if we get treated differently because we don't have the "local" look. Three of the four times we have shown up to a complete empty restaurant and left with the same emptiness yet we were not allowed to sit in a booth as a party of 2, the other time we got a booth with pushback because there were 4 of us. However, there were other parties of 2 in booths and plenty more empty booths. Secondly, with only 2 or 3 other parties in the entire place they still make sure to take their time before coming to take any drink orders and another 20 minutes to order food. I usually wouldn't write a review if it was a one time occurrence but this has happened every time we have gone. We will not be back because we don't feel welcomed. Regarding the response, our party of 2 was not "accommodated" I'm assuming I'm not the only person that has this complaint as whoever you are referring to was not us. read more

The meals were good today. 4 stars. Customer Service started out 1/2 star. Walked into your establishment with a party of five during lunchtime when your restaurant clearly had more than enough tables. To then be told you cannot put 2 tables together after I wiped your table clean plus the bench. To hear management does not allow two tables put together during lunchtime, to then witness an hour later a party of two sit at the same table Is very disrespectful and quite frankly comical. My advice to your management team is to rethink your response to customers and the table "rule" you have in place. I've been in several times but am just getting around to a review. I absolutely love their pizza and headed in on a weeknight to fill this craving. I sat at the bar next to Dominick, the owner. He's a true NY'er (Jersey. Close enough) I really enjoyed our chat and hearing his story. I told him I was craving pizza but asked about their burgers. He suggested a burger. I think it's the tavern burger with spinach, bacon, 2 cheeses, butter. I never wouldn't ordered that on my own because I'm such a creature of habit. But I'm really glad I did. Like everything else here it was excellent. Then I indulged in cheesecake that actually comes from NY. Also fantastic. I knew he owned the Dam bar (not to be confused with that dam place which is terrible). But he also has Dominick's Italian market and restaurant in Granite Bay. I can't wait to try it. Restaurants really took a big hit during Covid and now can't find people to work. I'm so happy to have this place as an option and love supporting them. Don't listen to the negative reviews about the owner. The customer is not always right. He tells it like it is but appreciates his customers. Got sat with menus quickly and with genuine enthusiasm by Kieran. Immediate impression is that the place is bright, open, modern, and very clean. Decor is not fussy, but sleek and comfortable. Menu has plenty of variety for lunch service with a broad range of items including pizza, calzones, pastas, sandwiches, salads, and an interesting array of small plates and appetizers. Prices are very reasonable. Kieran was attentive, had a sense of urgency, and made you feel welcomed the entire time. He had some good recommendations and plenty of menu knowledge. We ordered the scallop avocado crostinis as an appetizer. We chose the fettuccine alfredo with chicken and shrimp, and also the meatballs with focaccia for our entrees. Everything arrived in good time. There was obvious attention to plating detail. Everything was hot and fresh. And the flavors were everything we were hoping for. A truly satisfying meal. We live close and love to come here for lunch or dinner. The pizzas are fantastic and a great value! We prefer the quality and price over any national brands. The service is great! Dana is our favorite bartender and we do prefer sitting at the bar over a table - although all the servers are great and the owners are around enough to stop by and said hi when they can. One star because I have to in order to post. Went for the first time Sat night to meet friends and watch the baseball playoffs. The owner flew off the handle when my husband said the Yankees suck. The bar patrons were having a great time, until he was literally yelling at us. I had to tell the owner "Enough! We get it". You could hear a pin drop for the rest of the game. We had other customers express their shock. He caused a huge scene saying it was a family restaurant and he won't tolerate swearing. We heard others saying actual swear words but he said nothing to them. Guess he must be a Yankees fan. It's a bar and it was night and there was not one child in there. My husband and I decided to ride our bikes here today. As soon as we get the bikes locked up Jesse told us we couldn't put the bikes there. There was an area for patrons to walk in easily. We were rudely told to move them elsewhere. We moved them by the outside dining area and once again Jesse told us not there. That's all he kept saying not there, not there. We are in our late 50's. Instead of not there constantly give us options and tell us where we can park the bikes. Instead you lost 2 loyal customers. In today's corporate take over you should care how you treat people. I've been to this place a few time over the years. This is the first time I've been in since COVID. In my previous experience it's been "eh". But not horrible. This time, it was quite bad. First, the service was terrible. We waited around but people working there just looked at us so we sat ourselves. It took a long time for someone to come over and she asked if we could move to a high top (the place had very few people, I think 4 tables with people. My elderly mother is on oxygen and no, when there are plenty of low tops we cannot hoist her into a high top. That was a ridiculous ask. Food. I cannot stress enough how terrible my food was. It is shocking to me that they served this to me. I had the vegan lettuce wraps: butter lettuce leaves, a cooked sliced vegan burger and VERY old, tasteless... um slaw? It was so disgusting. It was $17. I cannot believe someone put these three things on a plate and thought "ya, I'd eat this". Who er owns and manages this place, wow. People steer clear. We have been enjoying this place weekly for years. We mainly come on weekdays in the afternoon, so we decided here for weekend brunch for the first time. AVOID IT!! From the service and the long wait to the atrocious food we were served today, it will be a LONG TIME if ever we return. My husband ordered a sandwich where he pulled out a HUGE GOB OF FAT, how can this grossness be served to anyone. I asked the server if she would eat it and she replied an astonished no and took it back to the kitchen. The owners were on site and they didn't come discuss this with us after we let the servers know we were not happy. I guess they just don't care. We will take our loyalty and money elsewhere.
