Cute little spot for lunch with plenty of parking on the street. The place is fairly small with about 25 seats inside and about 25 seats outside. There was a line when I came in for lunch on a weekday, but ordering process was quick and easy. There was a separate phone order line, so they must get a lot of phone orders to go. It took awhile for the sandwhich to come out, so if you have a short lunch, phone order is recommended. Cortina's Special - italian cold cuts, mortadella (italian sausage), cotto (cooked) salami, dry salami, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, peperoncinos (slightly different than a banana pepper) , and their own salad dressing. The sub was delicious although the bread might be a little tough for some to chew. The saltiness of the meat is balanced with the tangy peperoncinos. For $6.90 including tax the sub is a solid 4/5 stars. read more

Food is great but management should look into raising their wages, signs everywhere about "hiring" and "being short staffed". This restaurant is very popular and super busy, the staff working and being hired should be paid accordingly. I would normally give Cortinas 5 stars, 4 is pushing it right now. I got my favorite Rocky Balboa and there was a long string of saran wrap inside my sandwich. Not good. I'm a big fan - 4.5 stars - which matches their current overall rating. Cortina's Orange is a great place to go for lunch. Inside and outside seating available. Warm wood and decorative accents inside provide a comfortable atmosphere. Order at the counter; they bring it to your table. Service has been friendly, timely and accurate each time I've visited. Most every reviewer has given a 4 or 5 star rating. There's a good reason for this - Quality!! Boar's head and other quality meats and cheeses are used - in abundance -on the sandwiches. Self serve drinks - free refills. Creative specialty sandwiches are posted daily, keeping the menu fresh for the weekday lunch crowd. Every time I've been here it's been with other Yelpers. My first visit at the end of last summer was "a date which will live in infamy" - for two reasons - it's where I first met Roy B, and the Fireball sandwich bombarded my taste buds with joy!! The Fireball is one of my all time favorite sandwiches - up there with Wende's All-American from Deli-licious. I LOVE sandwiches! In fact building them was my first job some 30 odd years ago. I like to think that I was good at my job, but these people certainly put my sandwich building skills to shame. I have had Cortinas bookmarked for quite some time, and today was my lucky day. Easy to find with plenty of additional parking in the rear of the building. I actually felt kinda sorry for the Tummy Stuffer a couple of doors down, as they looked quite deserted. We must of got here at just the right time, because a line formed behind us making its way out of the front door, and the line never went down the whole time we were there. I went with the all American sandwich, which is made up of roast beef turkey ham American and provolone cheese. Dressed with mayonnaise lettuce tomatoes and pickle. My husband went with the Russo Special which is basically a Cortina special Italian cold cuts, heated and topped with peppers and onions. Both sandwiches served on the most amazing crusty French bread. I was feeling in a salad kind of mood instead of having a bag of chips. Their green salad was huge and nicely topped with cheese, tomatoes, olives, and a great big chunk of rosemary focaccia. Folks, I can't say enough how good these sandwiches were. TIP: Coming for lunch? Call your order in ahead of time! This tiny deli located in an industrial area is cramped and super busy. There are a handful of tables inside and a few patio tables but these aren't nearly enough to handle the crowd that patronizes this place. I arrived at the height of lunch hour to find a line out the door. The staff moves lightning quick though and within 5 minutes it was my turn to order. I wanted to eat there but every table was filled and other hungry customers were hovering, waiting for someone to leave, so I just asked for my order "to go". It took 15 minutes for my order to be ready. But that's because I wasn't clued in to what all the regulars obviously know - phone your order in. They have a separate line for phone-in pick up and those people were immediately helped and were out the door with their food in seconds. My order? A pastrami sandwich! An incredible pastrami sandwich. Sometimes simple is better and this was definitely basic. Perfect warm & tender pastrami piled high in a roll with swiss cheese and regular mustard. I don't care for much Italian food or pasta, but this was the lightest most flavorful I have ever had, not kidding! Not trying to be one of those best Ive ever lame-o's but this was ah-mazing!!! I will excitedly be trying more of the huge menu. They have lots of Italian drinks and service that is extremely competent. The interior is ADORABLE! For as long as I can remember, my grandparents would make weekly treks to the Anaheim Cortina's Market to buy packages of their various kinds of wonderful salume- capacola, salame, mortadella. Since I didn't live close to it, Cortina's became something of a mythical presence in my life, only existing in my grandparent's fridge. Then Cortina's Orange opened up, and boy am I glad it did. I had been lacking for a solid sandwich place, and I can safely say that Cortina's was exactly what I was looking for. Cortina's has it all: great salads, pastas, and above all else, the sandwiches. From your Italian classics to American favorites like Pastrami, Philly cheese, and the humble turkey, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Cortina's uses Boar's Head meats, so you know you'll be getting a high quality product. Sandwiches come positively stuffed with meat. A 10-inch sandwich is more than enough for me to make a full meal out of, and its well worth the $10 or so dollars it costs. Just when I thought it couldn't get any better, they recently introduced an online ordering system. You can order, pay, and then just walk in and grab your completed sandwich with no waiting in line. The only negatives about this place are that if you are dining in, parking and seating can get really tight if you come during lunch hour. They also aren't open on the weekends or in the evening (you'll have to head to Anaheim for that). I'm from Pennsylvania and grew up stuffing my sandwiches with chips, so I get double the crunch :) I can't figure out why this business is only open from 10am - 3pm Monday - Friday (Saturday's for now but not sure if that will be forever). I'd definitely come here for dinner - their hamburger with some wine outside would be excellent. Maybe it's their location, or maybe it has something to do with keeping demand high and lines out the door, either way I'd love it if they had normal hours. Came here with a small group of friends for lunch. We got lucky and got a table as some people were leaving, but this place was pretty crowded! You order and pay at the front. I got the Rocky Balboa, which is Porchetta with Broccolini and a side of Au Jus, which I didn't really use. The porchetta is thinly sliced, so I wouldn't have known it this was porchetta vs regular pork. Anyway, the sandwich was good and hearty at $9.50. I only ate half of it. My friends ordered the Corina's Special, Proscuitto, and Roast Beef French Dip. Some of the sandwiches are a little expensive at around $11, but they are filling at least. Everyone enjoyed their sandwiches. Bread was fresh and soft, too. I also recommend paying the extra $1 something for a bag of chips - they sell one of my favorites here, Voodoo flavored chips. For a long time, I had this restaurant bookmarked, but never went to take a look until my coworker asked all of us to go. I am glad he did. By recommendation of Yelp reviews, I ordered the 6" Fireball Sandwich, which consists of: Spicy, cured capicolla; Spicy calabrese salame, provolone cheese, a hot mix, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pepperocinis, and their own, Italian dressing. When the order arrived, I was wowed by how big the sandwich was. And indeed, it was big enough to feed 2 people! Was it good? Absolutely! The spiciness of the meat, coupled with the crunchiness of the bread, lingered in my happy mouth long after it was devoured. Further, my Italian coworker expressed how much he enjoyed Ravioli. Sadly, they are closed today, but this place is delicious! I recently tried their spaghetti and two meatballs with side order of garlic bread, which was catered by our work for a coworker's birthday. It is comparable to the spaghetti from a mom and pop shop in Fountain Valley called Dano's Pizzaria. Just got my food and have to say that the customer service was not good. Granted the place was packed but I literally waited over 45 min for my sandwich after watching plenty of people that ordered after me receive theirs first. After asking on the status, they went and then made my order, which was clearly missed. They then messed it up by not packing it to go. Roast beef French dip: really plain even when dipped in the au jus. Pastrami: not bad not great. Like smack in the middle were you can't go wrong with this sandwich if you like pastrami. First time I tried the smokey bear as a lunch special...it's a meatoaf sandwich with mashed potato squirted through a pastry thing so you don't quite know what it is until like the 3rd or 4th bite. Serious goodness. Next i tried the Cortina's special and this sandwich is a perfect lunch time meal. Fresh is an understatement and the bread is a textural dream. The Orange location is significantly smaller than the Anaheim location but is great for stopping in on your lunch break. There is NO MARKET attached, only the deli portion. You can still get pasta, pizza, and sandwiches. If you're on this side of town and craving Cortina's, this will hit the spot.
