Big Biff was the best server we've had from our many visits at Corvette Diner. Very personable and attentive!

Our first time here, and we were celebrating a 7th birthday. Do not arrive hungry because you can expect a very long wait for you. Pretty much everyone there is celebrating something. They do not take any reservations regardless of the size of your party, unless you want to plan a party in one of the party rooms. By the look of how large most of the tables are, they usually have larger parties come. They won't even add your name to the waiting list unless everyone in your party is present. Our wait was over an hour long. There is an arcade where everyone can kill sone time (and money). It is quite loud and crowded. It seemed a bit lawless because I saw an older kid whizzing around with a Razor scooter. We were finally seated, and our server Gloria was fantastic. Like all of the staff at Corvette Diner, she was enthusiastic and high energy. How does she do it?? On top of customer service, she's got to be liud enough to be heard over the din of the restaurant, the music, and she has a mask on. The food was so good, and moderately priced. The kids (of all ages) were happy with their milkshakes. Everyone got hats! The birthday girl got her shout out from the DJ, and a song dedication from her grandpa. My daughter loved it so much that she wants her have her birthday there too. She's been talking about it ever since, and it's been a week. There was someone making balloons for birthday celebrants. He was very nice. He said no charge for the balloon art, but tips are appreciated. He made a dog holding a flower for the B-day girl and. Simple heart for each of her 2 friends. The restrooms are located in the hallway en route to the arcade. The doors are light swinging doors, so watch out that you don't hit someone or vice-versa. In the women's restroom, toilets are on the right and sinks on the left. One handicapped stall to the left looks like a supply closet. watch your step because the floors by the sink are soaking wet. Only 2 hand dryers, no paper towels. No one wants to use the hand dryers, so they shake the water off all over the floor. I use a cane, so even at my most careful, my cane came in contact with water and slipped. Maybe a rubber mat to elevate customers above water, and a couple of buckets under the dryers to catch water when people do use them would help. Parking it tricky. Since it is located on former military base, the roads are windy and a bit complicated to navigate. There were only 2 handicapped parking spaces in the closest lot, and they were a tight squeeze. It is quite crowded, so folks using a wheelchair or walker should know people will bump you. I don't even know where you would put your walker or chair if you transfer out of it. read more

Wife and I went to Corvette Diner first time. What a great experience. We regret never coming here with our children when they were younger. What a great experience! Didn't know about this place. It's THE place to bring your children to have a great time and celebrate a birthday or anything. Food inexpensive, excellent portions and quality good for what you pay for. Wife had chicken parmigiana and I had a Sids burger. Server was outstanding. All workers boisterous, belligerent in a humorous way and sing and dance for the customers. Great vibe! Great time!! The mushrooms tasted chewy like they came from a can and the red peppers from a jar. The coffee milk shake was tasteless and runny. Service was good in the beginning but then I wanted to exchange my shake to something else and it came at the end of our meal, my salad did too. Haven't been in years! And finally got to eat here again. Had the best service from SherBear, she had good energy! I love the the inside and feeling the nostalgia, also noticed it was kept pretty clean. Not much dust on the ceiling. Shared the garbage plate and that's all we needed for 3 people. It really had us full. And SherBear got us extra sauces that went really well with the food! Garbage plate comes with sliders, fries, tenders, Mozzarella sticks, and onion rings. Tasted really good and not a bad price for sharing. I also got the SherBear special for a milk shake (caramel expresso) definitely a must try read more

Ive been wanting to come here for the longest and had high expectations for a good burger and fries. We walked in and they sat us at a table with no chair. They had to go get chairs but the whole section was empty so why not a booth? Anyway, we ordered the more expensive milkshake it was around $11 in which was good but very small for the price. I ordered the chicken sandwich that has pineapple and tater tots. The tater tots were old as they were really chewy! They tasted awful! I didnt want to complain as the service was already a 4/10. The chicken sandwich was disappointing. The chicken was so thin i honestly took one bite and said "theres no chicken in here". It was honestly a veggie sandwich. The bread fell apart on mine and the other person i went with burger as well. The photo attached showed the chicken sandwich cut in half and one two bite's taken. You can barley see the chicken. Definitely will NEVER GO HERE again. NOT GOOD and OVERPRICED. read more

We had a long wait (understandable for a Sunday). Once our party of 11 was seated we had an excellent time. Charlie and Darla made the whole experience worthwhile. We were laughing the entire time. Charlie kept up with every joke and jab. Darla was swift, friendly and funny. I truly wish we could receive this level of excellence in service everywhere. Service was amazing... although there was one server yelling across us to her table when she didn't need to be by us. She literally walked down our aisle to yell at the people on the other side and then walked over to the other side anyway. Charlie was amazing, funny, and catering! The food wasn't the best - burger was dry, bun fell apart instantly, and the philly cheesesteak was filled with a ton of onions. You're basically paying for the environment and the experience. The ambiance was amazing! The service was impeccable and the food was exactly what I expected. Diner food. I got the kookie which was really good, my husband ordered a chicken sand which and the kids got an app. While waiting a balloon artist who was INCREDIBLE made some pretty cool balloons for the kids. It's a very nice place and the food is good, but not great I tried the pastrami sandwich, which was very good, but the fries were soft instead of crunchy. I wish they were cooked a couple of minutes longer I also tried their Cesar salad, and I isn't a standard Cesar. This place has a fun atmosphere but that is where the positives stop for me. The service was slow and then the food was mediocre. The milkshakes were so thin it was like drinking flavored milk and the flavor wasn't even special. The onion rings were over-cooked and hard. It's a real shame because diner food is easy to do well and the place is in such a great location. I will definitely not waste my time or money here again. read more

I fondly remember visiting the original Hillcrest location as a kid 20+ years ago. I finally made the trip with my daughter & husband for her Birthday/Fathers day this year. What a full circle moment to see her eyes light up from the ambiance. What really made the experience one of the best parts of our trip was the service Ruby provided. This place sounded so much fun; kinda like a diner attached to Chuck-E-Cheese. The food wasn't amazing but edible, but definitely overpriced for just mediocre food. They close early like 8:00pm. We made a mistake on getting there to eat at 6:30pm and thought I'd hitting an arcade next to the restaurant after dinner but the arcade also close at 8:00pm. If I had purchased the game credit prior to eating, I could have played even after 8:00pm but I never got to because I didn't have a game card/credit. Wish I had known but oh well. Will I go back to this place? Perhaps. It will be a fun place for families to visit but expect to wait a while for your beverages and food to arrive. I don't think i recommend this place nor go out of my ways to come here but again might be a fun option for families visiting the area. read more

Last Thursday was my first visit ever to Corvette Diner. I'm a native here in San Diego so I got a lot of teasing from my family for this. I had the best time. I was so impressed by the staff here that I told anyone that would listen. Everyone was so kind. So nice. So personable. So attentive Nick-Arcade Mgr. and his staff Shai & DJ-behind the counter were amazing. They lead us in the right direction for the best deals available for all 12 of us. They went above and beyond. Nick helped us out tremendously. Always available to us if we had any issues. My husband went to Navy bootcamp and recognized every building here including the one The Corvette Diner was in. Atmosphere was amazing. Service too, our waitress was so personable. And the food was so filling. They just need to offer military discount, which they do not which is surprising for the location. read more

I expected this place to be like any other diners out there but boy was I wrong. We got the cordon bleu, pastrami burger, and two kids meal (chicken fingers and sliders) and all were delicious. It was definitely more like an upscale burger place. The cordon bleu was basically a big piece of fried filet chicken with cheese and ham and it came with mashed potatoes and gravy. The potatoes were yummy that even our kids kept eating it off my hubbys plate. The difference between the pastrami sandwich and burger is that the burger also comes with a meat patty so that made it yummy. The pastrami was especially delicious. We got two different kids meals (two sliders and chicken fingers) so that our kids can both have a slider and chicken finger (chicken finger came with two fingers) Both kids loved it. The arcade/ticket games were right around the corner so the kids had fun playing for a few hours. We will be back. The kids loves the food and games. read more

Im a San Diego local, just wanted to go sit at their bar and get a milkshake. Went up to the host stand and was told there was a 30-40 minute wait, that's fine, it gets busy I know, but people were just... waiting at the bar? The bar is for SERVICE, you go to the bar if you are going to ORDER something, nobody should be treating the high-top stools as a waiting area, ESPECIALLY because there were OPEN SEATS in their ACTUAL waiting area. Someone should be enforcing that if you're not going to order something you shouldn't be just sitting at the bar. I wasn't going to wait 40 minutes for a single milkshake, and I would've gotten one if there were open seats at the bar?? that's why I went?? LOVED IT!!!!! SEATED WAIT TIME: Our wait on a Sunday wasn't too bad - 30 min. They have those pagers that vibrate when you're up. They also have a "MAXIMUM SEATED TIME LIMIT OF 90MIN." So it definitely helps with getting customers in and out with a better estimated time. SETTING: The place gives off a nice "GREASE" vibe. And I LOVE GREASE (the movie)!! There are different areas in the restaurant with different themes. We walked through like a glow in the dark area. Then came to a different setting room, which had more light (and what I would personally prefer). FOOD WAIT TIME: Upon ordering, our food came out fairly quick. Considering that we had 8 meals ordered with drinks. FOOD: I'm not a burger person, but enjoyed it. My sister on the other hand who's a BIG BURGER LOVER LOVED IT! My husband who had the Rory burger, commented that that was the best burger he's ever had. Never thought peanut butter would taste sooo good in a burger. Lol. WAITRESS: GLORIA - LOVED HER!!!! 3* = Food / 5* = experience Okay, so to start, there are pretty limited greaseball options for food - which is pretty genre specific to this time period when it was acceptable to have so much garbage - you should know what you're getting yourself into. It produced a stomach ache all night for myself and my girlfriend. My kid was okay, but she ate almost nothing. The service is great and they dance, sing, have a magician and balloon maker come around to your table. That's all fine and dandy. It's also like a 50's themed restaurant, sort of like Grease but without that music (there's still music and dancing by the serving staff, who are wearing wigs). There's also an arcade attached, which no longer gives tickets (probably due to covid) but puts your "tickets" on your game card. Not a big deal, except half the machines are gambling style machines for kids to win tickets, then none come out. No biggie, there are plenty of interesting interactive games while you wait for a table and/or afterwards. Summary: it's an evening of fun, until the stomachache sets in when you go home. I recommend it for a single visit with kids, but likely won't return (sorry I'm a foodie first). read more

Very kid approved. My kids love this place. They think the food here is amazing, as a grownup the food is ok. I don't come here for the gourmet food, it's more to bring my kids so they can have a memorable dinner without emptying my wallet. The staff is very friendly and very attentive. Very fun vibe. Looks super cool inside, love the atmosphere. The paper straws are annoying. They get soggy and taste weird. They need to check out the straws made from corn. Make sure almost all your party is there like 80/90% I think. when u get there reservations or not and you only have 90 mins to eat. The food is not seasoned at all I went with a party if 10 and the food wasn't worth it definitely overpriced order cherry Pepsi the added some cherries and change me 7.50 for a soda sheeseeeeesh the arcade area is cool for the kids but I won't be going back here chuckie cheese food is better read more
