We arrived about 40 minutes to closing and had a very good meal. The calamari was really good and the chef even made a special, shrimp scampi, since they have a shrimp scampi pizza, but not shrimp scampi with angel hair spaghetti. I have to say, they have some AMAZING pasta dishes here. And every dish on the menu is HUGE! I tried the seafood pasta and it was really good. I'm still more partial to Mercato in Red Hook, but I'm probably just biased :) I went on a pretty quiet Wednesday night, they're probably busier on weekends. The decor is a little awkward with confusing walls and going around corners revealing random hidden empty dining rooms. But maybe some people like that. IMO. Good Italian food. The calamari was excellent. Also liked that they put a basket of bread on the table with some dipping oil.

Great spot for a savory Italian dish. They also have gluten free pasta and pizza for those who have a food allergy.

Excellent fried calamari and excellent paparadelle pasta with pork ragu. We stopped here on our way back to CT. Was recommended by our innkeeper in a Hyde Park. Much better than my local go to place for pork ragu! read more

My friends and I would used to frequent here whenever we want to get our pasta/pizza fix outside of Marist. Their spicy chicken fusilli is phenomenal and I always reverted back to it whenever I can here. I'm still drooling just thinking about it. Dinner at Cosimos is always a good time. read more

Made reservations based on good reviews but didn't really have a good experience. Asked for a nice table days in advance, when arrived, no line, not busy at all for Saturday night but was given cafeteria-like seating next to parents with small child. Very loud, noisy place. Bread was stale, salad soaked in balsamic vinaigrette, pizza was dry, topped with very large arugula salad??? pasta dishes ok. Waitress very fake nice. We won't be returning. There are much better places around like Portafino's in Staatsburg or Coppolla's in Hyde Park. read more

We had our girls night out and decided to go to Cosimo's in Poughkeepsie on Friday night. Some of us were return customers and some had never been to Cosimo's . The new comers were very impressed with the menu and enjoyed their meals very much. The arugula flatbread was out of this world. I had the pasta buttera and as always it was very good. Joanne at the bar made us the best Cosmopolitans and served each one with a smile. The service and all our meals were outstanding. We had another great meal with excellent service. My daughter had a Chicken Ceasar Salad that was too much for her to eat. I had the potato and gorganzola sauce as a starter and a salad for dinner (On a diet, lol). And as it turns out, daughter was saving room for the amazing Volcano Cake. As a Marist student, I've been to Cosimo's a number of times, and each time has been excellent. The pizza is REALLY awesome, and the pasta carbonara is simply amazing. They also offer gluten-free pasta and pizza, which is a huge plus considering I have friends and family who are gluten-free. We had my good friend's bridal shower at Cosimo's this past weekend and I must say that it was hands down the best shower I have ever attended! The staff was very accommodating during the planning process. They suggested a family style affair and helped me to craft a menu that was a huge hit! They even created a signature drink for our event. The waitstaff was incredibly helpful and friendly. The food was outstanding, the drinks were delicious and the atmosphere was elegant and sophisticated. The private room is just perfect. They assisted us in getting the cake, which was as delicious as it was pretty. No detail was overlooked. Every guest thoroughly enjoyed their evening out. Excellent fiery lobster appetizer.. had huge chunks of lobster meat with an amazing garlic butter sauce. Restaurant accommodated a work meeting in a very private area, was a perfect setting. Something for everyone! While Cosimo's has always been a reliable go-to place since they revamped the menu and overhauled the decor they have most definitely kicked it up a notch. There is really something for everyone. Gluten free, vegetarian, heart healthy and the not so diet conscious. We particularly enjoy the great selection of fish preparations and we love the standby of the chicken paillard salad which is a pounded and grilled chicken breast with the big arugula salad on top. Been a supporter since they've opened, but current management doesn't seem mature enough to carry out the vision. Food was okay but serious attention needs to be given to consistently delivering the same product...even on a Sunday and a Monday. Been there on weekends and music is so loud and inappropriate...like children left in charge of the store. Have to say wait staff have always been kind and polite. We have consistently used Cosimo's for our business luncheons and have never been disappointed. The service is excellent and the food is just what you would expect. The Ceasar was very nice, the pasta dishes are cooked just right and the specials are excellent. If you are having non-alcoholic drinks, they have never-ending refills. Maybe, since we are regular customers, we have never had the service problems mentioned in the other reviews. read more

The salads are awesome, and the pizza is the best this side of the Reservoir Tavern's in New Jersey (the pizza I grew up on)! You're bound to find some creative weekly specials on the menu, too. Spacious, Italian themed setting that is great for families. The pizzas are superb. I had the margarita with anchovies, and it was one of the best I've had in my life.
