TLDR: HUUUUGE PORTIONS OF DELICIOUS SUPER FRIES, yummy tacos, good service! Location: Right on Sepulveda Blvd within a narrow parking lot you can drive in to park. Note it's not on a street corner, so the entrance to the lot can be easy to miss. Atmosphere: Relatively small casual spot but enough room to sit and eat your yummy fresh tacos. Bonus points since they have two TVs to watch sports (if you request them to change the channel; they're super nice about it!). Price: Definitely worth $9.99 for Super Fries could feed a family (ok, like 2-3 people, but still!!!). Reasonable for a non-food truck joint. At first, I thought the ~$4 fish tacos and shrimp tacos were slightly pricey, but they honestly pack a lot--3 tacos is pretty filling! Food: Both the fried fish taco and shrimp taco were awesome. Both were pretty saucy, but cut nicely with a bit of acid from a relish they put on top. Their meats are well seasoned and flavorful. The highlight were the Super Fries. The thick cut fries they use aren't very special alone, but something about how they smother them with meat, refried beans, runny cheese, and pico de gallo was crazy delicious! I typically order the same thing every single time I order for delivery. I hate trying something new to eat and I end up not liking it. I was actually going to order from another Mexican restaurant, but the price seemed too ridiculous. It took a bit for me to decide what I wanted because of all the options. I chose the costa grande burrito because it sounded good and then I saw it on the top items list. The delivery arrived in 39 minutes which was great because I was starving. When I opened up my food I thought, WOW! This thing is huge! I did ask for a little extra salsa on my burrito and it seemed as if there was almost none at all. There was salsa on the side so I put it on myself, no big deal. The chips were nothing special. I liked both the red salsa (spicy) and the green salsa (mild). All in all, the food was tasty plus it was a great portion. I will definitely be adding this place to my recurring delivery spots. read more

Yelpers, cmon... maybe 3 potential, but not a 4.5 spot. I had tried this spot years back (motivated by the high reviews), but completely forgot and went back. It was disappointing then, and it was disappointing now. I had a carne asada California burrito each time, and my wife had al pastor fries this round. Both were completely uninspired and lackluster. They were nothing more than what they were - of their components. No notable flavors, nothing to remember or really enjoy; the Cali burrito was just a Cali burrito, and nothing further. And at these prices?... cmon now. When I got to the point - halfway - where I noticed I was just eating it to fill a void in my belly and not for enjoyment, I tossed the rest... which is rare. If you're drunk and/or stoned, maybe it'll hit a higher mark... and I suspect that that's where a greater part of these reviews came from. Why not 1? Well, service was at least friendly, and the nacho cheese did what nacho cheese does fine. read more

Even the usual "off hours" of 3-5pm are busy hours at Costa Grande. This place lives up to the hype, and then some. No, parking isn't great, but there IS a parking lot and waiting for a spot to open up never takes longer than a few minutes. The food is delicious here and it's not hard to branch out and try something new. I absolutely adore the shrimp tacos -- grilled or fried. I get the two-taco combo and sub beans for extra rice. That rice is divine! The breakfast burrito, quesadilla and California burritos are also great choices. Love that they have an open bar so you can serve yourself pico de gallo, limes, spicy sauce, etc. They also offer complimentary chips and salsa -- yum! Considering how busy this place is, it's surprising how fast food comes out. By the time you're halfway through the complimentary chips and salsa, your food is on the way to your table. It was a little on the pricey side (~$50 after tax), but everything tasted great and the takeout service was good. This is my go-to in Van Nuys for incredible fish tacos! The chipotle aioli in their vampiro taco is delicious! The vampiro tacos are really big and filling; you may be turned off because they are over $4 but that is because they are stuffed with meat, guacamole, beans, etc. and trust me, once you order them, you'll understand why they cost more than a simple street taco. Costa Grande definitely fulfilled my Mexican food craving! I left full and very satisfied! My girlfriend and I tried this Mexican food place and it didn't upset! I ordered a chicken quesadilla combo with chips and salsa. The combo comes with rice and beans on the side, I would definitely recommend! The chicken quesadilla was the perfect amount and tasted great! The bag of chips wasn't that big but when I asked for more a little more, they were nice enough to just give me another bag. They also weren't stingy on their salsas as I was able to get a couple for me and my girlfriend. The service was great, the wait wasn't long and the food was delicious! WOW just wow when you thing the King of nachos cant be topped, they top themselves. This surf and turf nacho was perfect comfort food for my WFH COVID lock in. Went here for a quick breakfast burrito. A bit hidden in a small shopping center. So glad we did! I got the chorizo breakfast burrito and jamaica. When I first entered, I was fascinated by the pictures and art work on the wall - I enjoyed looking at it while waiting for my order. The customer service was whatever but they made the tacos pretty fast. I tried the al pastor and carne asada street tacos. The carne asada tacos had a little kick of spice to them which was cool. This place hit the spot. We got dinner from here on a weekday night and it was *almost* perfect. We got the carne asada fries (A+), carnitas sopes (A+), a carne asada torta (I didn't have this so I can't speak it, but it looked great), and a fish taco. Everything was so, so good and so satisfying. I'm a huge fan of rice and beans and theirs was so good I will be ordering extra next time. The restaurant is located in a large shopping center with plenty of parking. I did not go inside, but it seemed like a seamless pickup experience for my boyfriend. At first I thought it was pricey but they hook you up like no other restaurant with a ton of meat and they don't skimp out on anything. We ordered burritos, tacos, and loaded fries and everything was delicious and generous with portions and meat. Uhmmm.... I came here a little weary 1) from all the positive Yelp review 2) the random place where it's located (between a laundromat and Russian bakery). I can say that they are an addiction now. I get them at least once a week and my family is hooked on them - I even drive them to Calabasas when my family makes requests. Their fish tacos are to die for. They aren't fishy and the portions are HUGE AND prices are very reasonable. They taste like street tacos with the assurance that you won't get food poisoning. My go to for myself is the shredded chicken (very western), but their asada is good. Family always gets the loaded fries with Asada and breaded fish and shrimp tacos. The staff are all very friendly and nice, and they have great taco Tuesday deals. For solid food, reasonable cost, and good portions, I would recommend you try this place. Plenty of parking and they take all major credit cards. I forgot to add, I wasn't a fan of the elote corn. WAAAYYYY too much butter. read more
